On a bitterly cold windy at rakes moor lane, the homes side ran out comfortable 6-0 winners

A never ending task at this time of the year, especially when there are sycamore trees in the garden.

Terrible photo, sorry.

 

These are heavily adorned rakes for the Tori no Ichi festival.

 

They are actually quite expensive--a large one can easily cost over 10万円 ($1000).

 

When a customer buys a large one, the store owners (and other passerbys) clap their hands loudly.

 

The one I got was small :-)

Angled raker (oak) being measured before cutting and bolting in position. This will give additional strength to the handrails and posts.

Raking leaves. This left me with a nice blister.
