Excuse me....."Sweep Job" GS2 of the Finger Lakes Railroad performs its Sunday ritual, running to Solvay, NY in the morning and back to Geneva in the afternoon. The perfect setting for the weekend rail fan. Here we see the job east out of Auburn, NY with a handful cars sweeping leaves of the rails as it rolls along.
This is a hay raking implement in infrared. Wheel rakes are the most common and popular type of rake in the United States. They are also the lowest cost rake because there is no PTO (power take-off) or hydraulics needed to drive the rake mechanism.

DB Cargo's 66198 clatters across Marple Wharf Junction with its rake of box wagons full of stone from Dowlow quarry, destined for the aggregates processing facility at Ashburys (6H52). Marple aquaduct can be seen basking in the sunshine in the foreground.
As is always the risk when photographing the aquaduct in nice weather, numerous people tried their best to inadvertently get in the way of my shot in the run up to the 66's arrival as they ambled along the towpath enjoying the views and the sunshine. I could hear the train rumbling towards the viaduct as a man and his pram were only three quarters of the way across, but luckily he saw me lifting my camera in readiness and obligingly scurried out of the frame with seconds to spare!

Whilst in the area of Štore, Slovenia I thought a quick photo of a passing train by the steelworks might be nice. I was in luck and saw Sz Taurus 541-105 with a rake of rail cargo Hungary empty gondolas.
Origins of the hay rake: One Ohio man with a passion for invention helped shape our community and the world. Edward Huber was just 26 when he earned his first of more than 100 patents. This blacksmith and inventor created the revolving wood hay rake in 1863. Huber moved to Ohio with his wife and started building and marketing the hay rake in 1865. More than 200,000 hay rakes flew off the shelves as farmers snapped up this invention which allowed one worker to accomplish what used to take seven or more people. This image is a modern version of the hay rake.
