Another view of the rails in the concentration camp of Auschwitz II-Birkenau, the opposite point of view of this shot. It's an eerie feeling when you know what the purpose of these rails was for.

Railroad line crosses the Charles - standing in Sherborn, looking in to Medfield. Sherborn Town Forest and the Rocky Narrows Reservation of The Trustees of Reservations on this side. The far shore is Medfield state forest land. River still very strong and high.

Christianus Sextus, a closed mine outside of the world heritage site Røros, Norway. Named after King Christian VI of Denmark-Norway, and with deposits of copper and pyrite. The copper have colored the ground and water orange up there, and combined with the ghost town-feeling it's a very special place.
If you look closely, you can see a double rainbow.
Most of the rails at the Grand Canyon were made out in this pip style where they look fitted together with threads. THe ones at Zion and Bryce are much nicer they look welded on the spot and ground down to being smooth. The Grand Canyon railings are also much thicker (about2 Inches vs. 1 Inche).
