The Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway is being diverted to make way for a new road scheme. After the end of the 2021 operating season track lifting commenced on 1st November.
The road will serve vast new housing estates currently being constructed on the outskirts of what was once a small market town.
Rails dropped just north of Moreton-in-Marsh station on Sunday, January 15, 2012, ahead of track renewal work through the station during a closure of the line between Charlbury and Evesham in a fortnight's time.

Had this idea when on holidays in Oslo, that rails might come out with a graphic look after post-processing.
Still in the first week and no sun around - but after days of rain a cloudy sky is better than most ;)

The original OOB I did I made the background a graduated blue (light to dark) but deliberately changed it to solid black purely for the effect here on flickrs lightroom :-) The image with the blue background has shadows under the frame which gives the image a touch more realism though and you don't get that with the black!
For those who'd like to know- this is Tomas Enge, First Czech Republic F1 driver (3 races as substitute in 2001) and here on his way to winning his third race of the 2010 Formula 3000 season.

Jingle Rails: The Great Western Adventure is a G-scale model train wonderland containing nine working model trains that wind through a stunning miniature landscape. The exhibit features miniature versions of local treasures of downtown Indianapolis, including the Eiteljorg Museum, Monument Circle, Union Station and Lucas Oil Stadium. The trains then head through the national parks of the American West, passing legendary sites, including grand railway lodges, Northwest Coast Native villages, and wonders both natural and human-made—Mt. Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Yosemite Falls, Old Faithful, the Las Vegas Strip, Hoover Dam and much more.

The Files (aka Resources) default view. Chris cleaned up the XHTML a bit so for smaller monitors it fails more gracefully then my XHTML. Still have the bucket but it feels a little better place on the right and obviously separate from the rest of the info.

The concern I have with this picture is the red stuff in between the rails about two thirds of the way up the picture... I didn't notice it at the time, but I saw it while I was processing the picture.

In between trains you tend to look for other photographic subjects. Quite often,what seemed a great idea at the time later turns out not to be. Still,I quite like this image.
