The metal rack so far contains sewing machine thread, organized bobbins, zippers, and serger thread. Cotton vs. poly are all separated.

My bike rack sheared off just above the fixing bolt. It was going to be a long walk home with my bike so I had to come up with a plan. So I took the remaining pannier bag carrying strap (I lost the other one) and wrapped it around the bike rack and frame and managed to clip the fastener to hold it tight. It's done 9 miles so far, 6 more to go before I get a new rack.

Made myself a rack for my birthday. Its mostly done, still might add a back rail to it and change the way it attaches to the brake bolt.
Still need to spray it. Once its got polyurethane on it the walnut will be about as dark as the saddle.
Struts mount to the dropouts using either the skewer or axle nuts. Strut length is adjustable and bolts to the rack.

At this point I have collected enough headphones that my dinky little stand ran out of space, so I worked with my dad to design a custom, handmade wooden headphone rack that he generously built and shipped to me. The board is from a cedar tree in my hometown, and the pegs are from birch trees outside my childhood bedroom window.
After looking into purchasing lumber racks for all the wood I had accumulated, I decided it would be far cheaper to build my own version. The resulting product was stronger, more scaleable, and all built with materials I had lying around. I currently have two levels that are holding over 1000 lbs are steel tubing, bars, and rods. The Uni-strut allows for the addition of more racks when I need more storage and its infinitely adjustable. I ended up installing 3 Uni-strut sections to help offset the weight loads (with the steel in mind). The holes that I drilled into the fins are used to bungee secure materials, as well as, hanging things to dry. I also made "caps" that fit on the ends of the individual racks to secure the materials from falling off the rack .... I live in California (Earthquakes) and the rack looks down on where I spend a significant amount of time while in the workshop.
UPDATE: I am currently planning to build a smaller scrap bin that attaches to the Uni-strut on the lower portion of the lumber rack.
This the bike rack outside of Centennial, instead of driving cars to class or even walk, students ride there bikes. This is a way to go green to eliminate pollution.
Inside-out struts, because it's intended for a machine that already has a pair of Tubus Tara lowriders, so it will attach to the rack bosses on the inside of the fork blades.
(the right fork leg brace is a little bit crooked, so when I braze on the fork crown stay and the light mount I'm going to have to free that brace and reposition it.)
