For someone who I am pretty sure has everything. But I don't think she has one of THESE!
She, like me, is a bit of a book nut and she's having a bday vintage garden tea. I found out she loved The Secret Garden which woulda been perfect but alas, no beautiful bookcover to be tunred into a bag , so I went quotations!
J.M. Cohen, and M.J. Cohen, eds., The Penguin Dictionary of Modern Quotations (Harmondsworth, Middlesex: Penguin, 1978). First published 1971.
"I saw the Penguin Dictionary of Modern Quotations in a shop. I remember thinking 'I've got 150 sleeping tablets at home, and if I'm not in that I'll take some of them with a large Pepsi-Cola'." He gets more than three columns, the entries mostly coming from the Tablet plays." Christopher Ford, "The Reeve's Tale," The Guardian, November 20, 1971, p. 10.

This one took a while to create - and a very long while to render. For some reason, this is a lot more fun than creating patterns using Spirograph (aka: the old fashioned way)
If you squint and use your imagination, there is part of an infinity symbol on the upper left hand side of this image.
This slogan has recently been applied to the wall of the men's locker room at the sports centre. My first reaction was "no, I certainly don't".
Then I googled it and discovered that they're quoting wildly out of context. Here's the original text, from Sports Illustrated:
"Do we ask too much of sports? Or do they ask too much of us? We ask that sports not only reveal our character but create it. We ask that athletes not just entertain us but transform us. That they make us somehow better.
...
I am old enough now to know that there is no making sense of sports, or society, really. There is only the endless hunt to uncover the small truths about who we think we are."
So it's a quotation about the young and naive. Appropriate for a university sports centre, but only in an ironic and slightly mean-spirited way.

This quotation struck a chord. All too often people attribute success to "luck" or "talent", rather than acknowledging the underlying blood, sweat and tears that went into creating that success.
It's only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth -- and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up -- that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.
- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

"They are often momentary, chance-sent things: a gleam of light on water, a trail of smoke from a passing train, a cat crossing a threshold, the shadows cast by a setting sun. "
-Bill Brandt
This one made me smile, mostly because I wish I could use that quotation with my students when they make mistakes.
