AMSTERDAM Light Festival - Quizvraag: wat is het wereldrecord verspringen? Run Beyond van Angelo Bonello lokt die vraag uit, want de sprong die de man in dit werk maakt, lijkt onmogelijk ver. Het sleutelwoord daarbij is ‘lijkt’. Want, vindt Bonello, niets is onmogelijk als je het maar graag genoeg wil. Run Beyond is een werk dat gaat over de sprong die we in ons leven allemaal moeten maken: de sprong naar de vrijheid. Welke vrijheid zegt Bonello er niet bij, dat is aan de toeschouwer om uit te maken.
Amsterdam Light Festival - Quiz question: what is the world record long jump? Run Beyond by Angelo Bonello lures that question, because the jump that the man in this work is, seems an impossible distance. The key word here is ' seems '. Because, Bonello, nothing is impossible if you but gladly enough will. Run Beyond is a work that deals with the lead that we all need to make in our lives: the jump to freedom. What freedom says Bonello is not listed, that's up to the Viewer to decide.
Several pairs of Summer Tanagers popped up briefly at the blinds at South Llano River State Park. This female gave me a questioning look before both of us departed: me for home and her for greener pastures.

she was pretty and soft and tended to gain weight. she was an independent basenji, not really belonging to any of the cliques in our group. she marched to her own drummer.

attached is my most favorite photo of her.
gracie had bitten quiz in the neck in a disagreement over something, a gopher, I think.
it was necrotic almost immediately, so the vet worked at saving her, and was bitten for her work. quiz was treated, elizabethan collar put on, and she was kept in an enclosure at the vet hospital, a cage with tall sides.
the vet wasn't happy with her.
but...the next morning when the staff appeared, the collar was found on the other side of the wall, the tall wall. quiz had removed and tossed it.
our vet called and said she understood more why we loved her independent self so.
she survived the wound only to be found riddled with cancer and helped along on the operating table 5 months later.

A quiet but busy Monday back in the office today. There was some sort of office-team-building function going on so I stayed behind and enjoyed the stillness while I was working away.
Came home, and like the irresponsible adult that I tend to be on nice days, I neglected to come in the house until late into the evening.
Overall, a decent Monday so I can't complain.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

school was eh.
i flunked a chemistry quiz almost burnt the school down, but i got over it.
I hopped on my homework.
I got done early so i worked on a song i'm writing!

1. i used to pick flowers when i was a little kid (go figure).

5. i tried painting, im no good =p

12. it's hard for me to fall asleep. i have bad dreams.
13. in 7th grade i went to sylvan learning center and i thought it was the most embarrassing thing ever. turns out i could do math i was just lazy.
14. odds are, if i know you, i've thought about what it would be like to take your picture.
15. i do not drink or do drugs.

Reviewing photos from Sparkle, I realised my new friend Erin was wearing it on the Saturday night. Erin, you looked fantastic! It's no wonder I wanted this dress after seeing you.

Tomada este verano pasado en mi ciudad natal Vilanova i la geltrú (Barcelona).
En el espigon central de la playa de Ribes Roges de Vilanova i La Geltrú, hay una enorme escultura de cobre, cuyo peso alcanza las tres toneladas. Se trata de una obra del escultor local Óscar Estruga, convertida ya en símbolo de la ciudad y que representa un gigantesco toro que alberga en su interior una hermosa figura femenina desnuda.
A orillas del mar Mediteráneo, el mismo mar que baña la isla de Creta, la obra de Estruga constituye una alegoria de Pasífae, una de las mayores leyendas conocidas que liberó del miedo a todos los pueblos de dicho mar.
Óscar Estruga, nace en Vilanova i La Geltrú el 1933, de carácter más bién silencioso, generoso y detallista. El 1959 se marcha a Madrid y allí se dedica todo el tiempo al cultivo de sus obsesiones: el dibujo, la pintura, el grabado y el sueño de la escultura con hierro, acero y bronze.
Oscar Estruga mantiene la curiosidad para descifrar los mitos antiguos que todavia nos acompañan. En su obra, los dioses y los héroes presentan todo su esplendor. Quiere prolongar su particular jardin del Edén en su obra, que nos devuelve al retiro originario y primitivo. Una de sus obras más brillantes y fantasiosas es Pasífae en Vilanova i La Geltrú, localidad que le vió nacer.
En el pedestal de la estatua que aquí quizás no se aprecia hay un escrito que dice: Pasifae, filla del Sol, va sofrir una boja passió pel bou més blanc del Ramat del seu espòs Minos, rei de Creta.
(Pasifae, hija del Sol, sufrió una loca pasión por el toro más blanco del rebaño de su esposo Minos, rey de Creta).

I bought the Music Trivia, thinking that Stew might enjoy it, and he did. I then found the Literary Quiz book amongst my poetry books. I know nothing about music trivia and I've discovered that I know very little about literature, or at least about the questions in this book.
