Taken some years ago, in Rhyl, North Wales at the end of a bleak summer season. These signs hark back to a time of traditional seaside holidays. Nice to see in a world that is otherwise controlled and p.c.

A chance going away shot... that actually worked for once!

All those crazy angles, loco one way, pole line all over the shop, hills, dangling wires. It shouldn't work. No way. But it does. Well, I think so anyways.

And, if that wasn't enough, the frame number on my camera of this shot? 6066. Quirky.

Found these fun decorated pumpkins in the Jean Talon Market on my visit to Montreal, Quebec Canada!

We liked the sleeping rabbit - the window of bathroom shop, plus reflections.

Quirky and cheeky!

Gongylus gongylodes, also known as the wandering violin mantis, Ornate mantis or Indian rose mantis, is an insect of the order Mantodea. This is one of the more bizarre looking mantises. Characterized by extremely slender limbs with large appendages. It is not a particularly aggressive species. It feeds primarily on flying insects. Its native range is in southern India and Sri Lanka. It can reach sizes of up to 11 cm. The males of the species are capable of flight. This species are a communal species in that they live and breed in large groups without unnecessary cannibalism. Another quirky window display in Newport Pagnell. The banana caught my eye, but I’ll pass on Jamie Oliver thankyou very much!

One of many masks I saw during my time in Venice, this mask was photographed in a quirky and handcrafted mask shop not that far from the centre of Venice.

The Vixen motor home was produced by the Vixen Motor Company, Inc., in Detroit, Michigan, from 1986 to 1989. There are three models; a BMW turbo-diesel powered lift top (the TD), a turbo-diesel eight-passenger limousine (the XC), and a General Motors gasoline-engined fixed-top (the SE). All are 21 feet long.

The twisted branches of this tree have always fascinated me. Used to stand on its own but now surrounded by debris of other trees which have fallen .

Latin taxonomy - quirkious birdious

Not sure where the influence from this handsome little cutie came from, probably some rare jungle thing on a David Attenborough program.

Quirkious Birdious is, of course, flightless!

The mind of a child is an interesting thing. Its imagination is not at the point where it is limited by the concept, "What will people think!/!". That means that when you walk into a living room to discover that your two-year old granddaughter has placed two plastic giraffes into a non-functioning fireplace there is no surprise. You do, however, wonder what was the intent. :-)
