Time is marked at the top, running from morning at the left to evening at the right. When the blue eggs are visible in the vertical stripes, the mother bird was out of the nest. Looks like she took a long lunch around 11:40-noon. It got dark out by around 7pm.
The video used to make this was taken on a webcam mounted just above the nest.
This kymograph was made using ImageJ, a free, open-source program. To try making a kymograph, download ImageJ, then open a quicktime in ImageJ by clicking file>import>using quicktime, draw a line, and click image>stacks>reslice.

A timelapse of the gift opening extravaganza at my parent's house this year. It was lots of fun having my brother, his wife, and my niece and nephew at the house for Christmas morning along with my parents and Stella and I. Hopefully that crowd helps the incredible pile of presents seem slightly more reasonable :)
I used an app called Still Motion (which isn't very good) on my iPhone to take pictures every 5 seconds, and then put them all together in Quicktime Pro at 15 frames / second. The Glif tripod mount for iPhone is awesome.

1) Attach the three CineSkates to the GorillaPod Focus and position the legs and wheels for your shot
2) Line up the wheel bracket slot with the "0" mark on the wheel
3) Use your camera timer or an intervalometer to take a photo at increments of 10 seconds or more (adjust this time for the shot, and make sure to give yourself time to move the wheel)
4) Move the CineSkates your desired amount. For example; from the "0" to the "1" mark (1 centimeter)
5) Repeat the same distance move between each timed photo
You will end up with a consecutive sequence of JPG photos.
turning your photos into a video
1) Put the entire sequence of JPGs into a folder and give it a name
2) Open QuickTime 7. Note: QuickTime 10 does not do this, follow the link to get QuickTime 7.
3) In QuickTime 7, go to File > Open Image Sequence
4) Select the first image in your image sequence and click "Open"
5) Select a frame rate. Example: "24 frames per second"
6) Go to File > Export
7) Choose your Export setting. Example: "Movie to MPEG-4"
8) Save it!

I record this yearly. Sometimes I share them, sometimes I don't. I enjoy the poem, and I hope you do as well.
The video isn't actually video, but rather a still image I grabbed almost at random. I forgot Quicktime player doesn't do colour management. It was also the only way I could easily share this with all you nice folk.

On Saturday, I took the a77 with Rokinon 8mm and Nodal Ninja 3 head and tried some 360VR. This is probably the only successful one of the ones I tried. The pano created from 9 images with original 103MP in size, thats much larger than my a55 which yielded about 66MP with the same lens.
Geek stats and process:
-6 horizontal images with a 60 degree separation
-1 zenith image
-2 nadir images - normally you need three for tripod removal, the but I used a very low shutter speed.
-Camera stats: ISO50, .4 sec, f/8
-Preprocessed RAW images in Lightroom, exported to uncompressed 16-bit tiffs (140MB each!!)
-Equirectangular stitch and masking in PTGui and saved at 8-bit tif (easier to edit)
-Used PTGui to convert to cube strip
-Edited cube strip in Photoshop - nadir and zenith cleanup (which could certainly use a little more work!)
-Converted back to equirectangular with Panoweaver
-Checked results with a quick flash export - few enough stitching errors remained, so here you have it, my first 360VR with the Sony a77!
I definitely need to do more of these, I've gotten out of practice since I haven't made one in months.

What will you tell a Mac newbie to do if he or she ask you why Mac can't play videos at full screen out of box?
1. Tell he or she where to get a serial. (Sites like se****z.to .... you know)
2. Buy a QuickTIme Pro license from Apple (Apple need more money to create *seamless software that work out of box*)
3. Point out a get-around method: Play movies in FrontRow or iTunes (WTH? Every time I need to drag the movie to the Movie Folder or burn a DVD or add it to the iTune library before viewing it? )
4. Think Different! Viewing movies at full screen is a PC-way to do things. (lol)
5. OK, Mac sucks in some aspect, so please get www.videolan.org/vlc (Oh...I though I never need to use any commands in OS X)

How to prevent pregnancies in young women was the challenge IDEO was asked to address. Their solution was to create a funny, yet wise, system of support to ensure that nothing trips up prevention. Aside from these informative and light-hearted videos, the system also includes a guide, documentaries about birth control methods, as well as a system of reminders about clinic appointments, prescription refills, and when to pop the pill. “Bedsider says: Go out, have sex, be yourself—and choose when the time is right to have a baby.”
