Astute viewers will note that this is the same consist that was seen earlier in the morning just outside Whittingham. Well here it is again with the return rake of empties at Wingen at 5:30pm on the same day. making it an 8.5hr wait between sightings.
I went in search of sheep to sketch but they stayed away from the fence. Sketched this guy from an old photo.
Pictures of the beautiful Puerto Plata Lighthouse on our quick visit to this Dominican Republic port city. We were not supposed to visit here, but when they added this as a port of call, I did a quick search and discovered that there was a historic lighthouse there. The cast iron lighthouse was built in 1879 and eventually fell into disrepair. It was restored by the Cultural Heritage Office in 1979 and in 2000 by the World Monuments Fund. It sits near the San Felipe Fortress that sits to the east of the harbor.
I was excited that I was able to take pictures of this lighthouse during our arrival in the early morning, during the day and during our departure. This was a bonus stop that was added after the storms prevented us from following our initial itinerary. On board the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas for the Seven Night Ladabee & Puerto Plata Cruise (November 6th through 13th, 2022). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayone, NJ) with stops at Labadee, Haiti and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic before heading back to New York City. The itinerary changed after Hurricane Nicole canceled our planned stops.

I quickly became enamored by The Shins after Garden State came out. It would only be years later that boredom drove me to find photos. Approximately 1 second later, I was head over heels.
This has always been a favorite fall song. I know it's Spring, but transitionary seasons are similar enough.
He really makes me think more of Ishida than of Aizen. That whole sharpshooter mentality, perhaps... Those glasses really are a pain. I still don't think I got the nose right.
