Our planet is need of balance. Balance of our use of it, balance of our dependence on it, balance of exploitation of it. Balance of its wildlife, its resources, its land, its sea, its air. It's all a question of balance.

Typically, when I post a photo, it’s my own work, and the only description is the lyrics of a song that sparked the idea in my mind. But this picture is different. This was taken by Ari Gunner, who, without hesitation or expectation, offered to help me with my first store simply because she wanted to see me succeed. That simple act of kindness perfectly sums up who Ari was—not just in that moment, but in every moment I was lucky enough to share with her.
She wasn’t just a friend; she was the closest thing I ever had to a mother, both in SL and RL. She was there for me in ways that no one else was, without question, without obligation—just pure, unwavering support. She took care of me when she didn’t have to, when the world felt heavy, and when I felt alone.
I will carry her kindness, her love, and her generosity with me for the rest of my life. She gave so much and asked for nothing in return. That is the kind of love that never fades, and I will never forget her.
I have to sell some photos at my church fall fair, and I have a question for which I would appreciate any and all feedback:
I'm going to print 5"x7" photos and put them in mats. the question is: For a church fair where I don't think people are going to be willing to spend lots of money, should I just have them machine printed and keep the price at $10 each, or should I get them printed at $7 each, and then charge $15 each?
what do you think???????
En réponse à la question de Raymonde sur l'application de la loi sur le Port du Casque obligatoire au Vietnam dans un commentaire d'une photo de Maurice Albray
qualité très relative , mais à titre de document......
Whenever I dig into my old stuff the question always creeps into my head, "What would I tell that kid if I could tell him anything?"
You are going to do OK for yourself but in a quiet, unspectacular way. He (I) already knew that. In fact I took that for granted.
You are going to lose people that mean the world to you and you will never stop grieving for them. I knew that too ( we all do ) but I would have never admitted as much, preferring to only recognize those bitter truths as I was being run over by them.
I suppose I couldn't resist giving some sage advice but I wouldn't listen to myself. I remember making a point of not acting on good advice when dispensed by anyone professing to know what life was really about.
All in all it's a good thing time travel isn't possible. Aside from being freaked out by my wrinkly old self showing up to tell me crap I knew but didn't have the courage to act on, I would have been angered that all the suspense and mystery had just been taken out of life. For all the effort that goes into fiction about jumping back or ahead in time I think it is good that we have to crunch along alone without the aid of a nebbish future self showing up every so often to whine and moan about how I'm so lacking in ambition. I'm peeved at myself right now just for thinking up the thought of it.
I first put this together in 2012. Today I thought about it and made an effort to find the original images. 1974 was taken with a Canon F1 and a 50mm f1.4. 2012 was taken with a Pentax K10D and the 18-55 kit lens. In 2012 I used Gimp to stack the images. This time around I used Affinity Photo.

I received a lot of questions about the aquarium in Sydney
Sea Life Sydney Aquarium is a public aquarium located in the city of Sydney, South . It is located on the eastern side of Darling Harbour to the north of the Pyrmont Bridge. It is a full institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).
The aquarium contains a large variety of Australian aquatic life, displaying more than 650 species comprising more than 6,000 individual fish and other sea and water creatures from most of Australia's water habitats.
Its key exhibits in the aquarium are a series of underwater, see-through, acrylic glass tunnels where sharks swim above visitors, and recreation of a Great Barrier Reef coral environment.
I have a few questions in general :)
So if you couldn't tell by my stream, I don't do many self portraits. And I really don't know why either. I guess it's just easier to take pictures of stationary objects?! But I want to challenge myself, so would you agree that I should explore self portraits more, or disagree?
Also, Prints. Print exchange? Print giveaway? What do you guys think? Should I make something happen, or just leave it?
I'm not very good at decision making, it takes me 30 mins, to decide what I'm having for breakfast! So really any opinions, or answers would be much appreciated :)
You can recognize the steps from Liège and the characters of the cartoonist François Walthéry, Natacha, the air hostess and the pigeon fancier "Li Vî bleu".
It is a convoy in the spirit of the ancient silk caravans. The work will amplify the project initiated by Dominique Matagne, artist, plastic arts teacher and manager of the Comptoir de la Céramique. She will complete it "with a hundred fingers", fingers of her friends, passionate artists, all carriers of the project.
At a time when climate and mobility issues are at the heart of all debates, the “Caravane des Possibles” will illustrate another way of getting around outside of current patterns that are deeply questioned. It will make it possible to carry out a reflection around a dream mobility, even poetic or utopian, to which only art can give access.
The caravan questions the issue of migrants, that of departures, escapes of all kinds. What directions will this caravan take? For what ? How ?
These are perhaps the questions that the work will awaken in the viewer...
I wanted to mod my Brickmania Easy Eight, I am wondering if this new cupola looks good. What are your guys' thoughts? Also, expect some new uploads mid-May....
How fascinating that during our lives there are moments in time that have the ability to go down in history.⏰📘
One such moment came at 17:42 on Friday the 3rd of July 2020, where were you at this momentous time, just in case anyone was out in the scullery jumping up and down on a bunch of grapes in order to make your next bottle of wine, let me pass on to you the following reportage, you cannot make it up.😜
The place was Downing Street, the subject matter, questions to the PM who had addressed the nation, what happens, yep this question is put to BoJo, “Prime Minister, should we drink a yard of ale to celebrate pubs reopening” well the cheers, whooping, trumpets being blown, beating of drums, singing, that rang out around this village, was just sheer joy. The village church bells rang to the tune of ‘Roll Out The Barrel’, Horace bounced up and down on his Olympic size trampoline, purely incredible scenes.
The noise was picked up at The Goonhilly Earth Station.🍻🎺🎶📡
The internet and phone lines in the village, all went into meltdown, morse code, tambourines anything that could be classed as a method of communication were put to use. Nancy Nancarrow, yes the lady that does glass blowing on the side, immediately swung into action producing yard of ale glasses by the thousand in her garden shed.☎️🏡🍸🍹
A crack team of ladies from the WI armed to the teeth with welding and fabrication qualifications assembled outside the church hall.
Their immediate task was to reacquisition the bus that is used for the Sunday school outings and prepare it for an exhibition pub crawl through Cornwall.🚌
They would cut the roof off the bus with Oxy-Acetylene torches and turn it into a cabriolet, these measures were required in order to follow guidelines that it is safer for large groups to be in the open air.
Next step was to expertly cut out the double seats and weld in a job lot of chairs from the church hall at two meter spacings.
Bus conversion complete, these ladies were good to go.🔥🔥
Trixie Trebillcock and Betty Beswetherick, had been in a bubble or on a bender some miles away in Wadebridge when they heard the cheer from the village go up, they immediately phoned back to the village to ask Nancy what was going on, once informed they asked, could they be picked up from Wadebridge next day on route for the pub crawl to celebrate this momentous moment in time.👯♀️🎉🎊
Mrs Trebogus said she would drive the bus for the pub crawl.
With representatives from many of the organisations in the village sat in the single seats of the bus cabriolet and every member armed with a yard of ale glass they set off from the village via Wadebridge, duly collected Trixie and Betty, then headed off through Cornwall, stopping off at numerous hostelries testing their yard glasses before one final stop in Penzance.🍺🍺🍺🍺🍷🍺🍷🍺🍷🍺🍺🍷🍺🍷🍺🍷
Following the consumption of about twenty yards of ale each in Penzance alone, some of the ladies were a bit worse for wear, some even went missing.🙈😜
As it was getting dark Mrs Trebogus had to get back to the farm in order to milk her Friesian cows. Therefore she took the decision to round up the ladies she could find and transport them back to the village. (I bet you have all been out on a day like this if you are honest)🐄🐮🐄🐮🐄🐮
When Trixie and Betty staggered back to the RV point, they could not believe they had missed the bus, Trixie said “we will have to walk home”, Betty responded, we can’t do that, we are not fit to walk, we will have to drive. 😱😱
Trixie said “but we don’t have a car”, Betty responded don’t worry we will borrow one, Trixie said “don’t be stupid, there won’t be a car around here that is taxed, so forget that, how about we borrow a bus from Penzance bus station”, brilliant idea responded Betty.🚗🚌
So Betty stood guard outside the large bus station while Trixie went into borrow a bus, well after about half an hour of engine revving, clattering and banging, Betty shouts in “what on earth are you doing”, Trixie responds, I’m doing my best but the bus for Wadebridge is parked at the back.🚌
Betty shouts, “take the one for St Columb, we can walk from there”.🚌🚶♀️🚶♀️
Thank you so much for viewing my photos, the banter and comments you leave are so appreciated.
Take care, have a lovely weekend
🍺🍺🍺🍷🍷🍷🐎🐷💃😎😂😂😂
There is always the question why
And there is always life,
Which doesn't need an answer.

What I know about lightning:
“Is a powerful natural electrostatic discharge produced during a thunderstorm. This abrupt electric discharge is accompanied by the emission of visible light and other forms of electromagnetic radiation. The electric current passing through the discharge channels rapidly heats and expands the air into plasma producing acoustic shock waves (thunder) in the atmosphere” (Wikipedia dixit).
It’s a very spectacular phenomenon, specially at night.
It’s not easy to get a good capture if you don’t know how to do it. It’s pure chance.
It’s pure chance that your building gets struck by lightning.
So, I got this capture and three weeks later my building was struck by lightning.
I said goodbye to my monitor, printer, TV and toaster. CPU, Hi-Fi and microwaves survived (by chance).
Corollary: lightning and chance are two sides of the same coin.

Its snowing outside with a 30mph wind and a temperature of 5 degrees above zero. The kind of day that makes me wish for butterflies and summer.
First time snowploughs (the big boys) in the Mearns. Snow this bad, well, it happens but usually lays with no drifts. 2026, bringing the challenges. Drifts left and right between Laurencekirk and Portlethan had to be worked on twice today. Crews of 0Z01 37706 had the full wack thrown at them. By Portlethan, 706 developed windscreen wiper faults, loss of power and re-fuelling. Bo’ness TMD for some TLC.
As 706 struggled Laurencekirk to Aberdeen, request for ploughs to do a once over was given. Original route was to Dundee, line was deemed suited. Turn back time was at Montrose. Question of what’ll the snow storms bring tomorrow, another yellow (purple on the radar) for carnage again.
Not banking on the North East being normal by the weekend at the latest. This shot, well worth it, 8 mile bike ride from Montrose with road conditions at the time being near impossible!
