I finally managed to sneak down the Kukui Trail and found some nice clouds here at Waimea Canyon. Then the sun broke through clouds and cast some cool and interesting light over the landscape. After reviewing this photo, I wished I had taken out the 70-200 to pick the landscape apart piece by piece, but alas, Live and learn. :)

There 's nothing like cool temperatures and fresh air to raise the spirits. during my forays to the Alabama Hills the temperature can get up into the 100's and when they do, this is where I seek refuge. At around 9000 ft in elevation the difference in temperature is about 15 degrees and there nothing better the a fine mist that floats away from the falls right onto your weary soul.

Originally, I did make this picture with a texture, but decided I prefered it without. I thought the expression on Augustus's face was comical.
He was not posing for me, he was walking towards me at a very fast pace hoping for a treat.

There are times when I question my own sanity – this photo is a good example. I waited two hours to get just the right light at this silly little water fall.
When I arrived half the Hayes Creek Falls water was in bright sun and the other half in shadow. I loved the way the water flows on this and couldn’t walk away without a good shot. So I waited and waited and waited…..

Are we listening? That’s a good question. Many people hear what others are saying, but they don’t process it because they are not listening.
If one were to take a moment and listen to all the things around us, would it change us? Would it change the way we think? Perhaps it would, and perhaps that is why many chose not to . . ..

Animals have these advantages over man: they never hear the clock strike, they die without any idea of death, they have no theologians to instruct them, their last moments are not disturbed by unwelcome and unpleasant ceremonies, their funerals cost them nothing, and no one starts lawsuits over their wills.
That was the question I was asked because I was using my long lens on a popular trail. If I am using such a big piece of equipment, surely I see something interesting off in the distance. They didn't know how to react to my response - "A mountain bluebird in that dead tree".
People generally don't go to Yellowstone for the birds and they certainly don't do so when walking to the lookout for the Grand Prismatic Spring. But being from the east, I couldn't pass on the opportunity to catch an image of these lovely birds, especially if I got lucky to get one to land in the pine tree with orange-red needles.
Is the tower at the end of the perspective really leaning? It's all a question of point of view... Like so many things in life, you have to look at everything from every angle.
Est-elle réelement penchée cette tour qui pointe au bout de la perspective? Tout est une question de point de vue… Comme beaucoup de choses dans la vie, il faut savoir regarder tout sous tous les angles.
But here's a question. Why are these wet but the two in the previous posting were complexly dry even though they were part of the same group?
