Whilst studying all things of a rocky nature on Llandwyn island, I happened to notice this appealing little composition. The verdant green triangle, a nice contrast to the lichen encrusted lava rocks, with its little ice cap,

Autotag has not performed very well here, really only 1 out of 7!

Termly Report:

'Autotag has a good imagination and sees things many others may miss however a greater degree of concentration and observation in class will see the fulfilment of potential'.

I'm sure this report sounds familiar!

Here's a track I've not heard for a little while, apart from the witching hour last night.

Kiwi Fruit came to watch the sunrise with me yesterday morning.

We ate at The Reserve in Old Town Scottsdale to celebrate my wife's birthday. It is part of the Café Monarch family. Café Monarch is larger, elegant, and romantic. The Reserve is more intimate with superb food. IMHO Michelin 2 star quality. We judge the dining experience is well worth the time and cost. Café Monarch will be our restaurant for our anniversary. The Reserve will be our restaurant for my wife's birthday.

The Reserve is in an old house on First Avenue in Old Town Scottsdale. This was the original location for Café Monarch which is now just across the street. You enter down a walkway where you can look through the windows at the kitchen.

“Our specialty is in fine dining," says Phillip Lewkowicz, vice president of operations for Monarch Hospitality Group, "so we decided to take that a step further and create an exclusive restaurant.”

Lewkowicz, whose family owns the romantic, high-end Scottsdale spot Café Monarch, was referring to their latest venture, which opened in late October. It's called Reserve, and it's located at 6934 East First Avenue, Suite 102 — right across the street from Café Monarch in Old Town Scottsdale.

As with many luxury products, scarcity is baked into the concept: Reserve serves only 25 diners per night, Wednesday through Saturday, from 6:15 p.m. to close (usually sometime around 11 p.m.). Guests first pass through a garden entrance, then on to an interior welcome area, where a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres commences. Then it's on to the courtyard, where dinner is served. The restaurant then offers a tasting menu of 12 courses, with other bites in between. Three advanced sommeliers help with wine pairings. Patrons can also order wine or cocktails by the glass.

The inspiration for Reserve arose from a culinary jaunt executive chef and owner Gustavo Lewkowicz took through Spain in summer 2019. With Reserve, his goal is to present a luxurious experience inspired by global cuisine — something worth a special trip.

To execute that vision, Lewkowicz has assembled quite a lineup in the kitchen. He's brought on Benjamin Wald as chef de cuisine. Wald has studied with Alain Ducasse, a highly decorated chef, in France. Wald has also worked with Patrick O’Connell at the three-Michelin-starred Inn at Little Washington, in Virginia.

The newest concept from the team behind Cafe Monarch. Experience the best fine dining in Arizona.

Reserve invites guests to experience a multi-course chef’s tasting menu in an intimate, outdoor setting. Food is expertly selected from all over the world, enhanced by wine paired by one of our advanced sommeliers, to create a memorable dining experience.

Located directly across the street from Café Monarch, Reserve, features the best the valley has to offer. The tasting menu features world cuisine consisting of world-class, premium ingredients, making us one of the best 5 star restaurants in Scottsdale. Sommelier selected wine, craft cocktails, and a full premium bar further enhances the experience. Seating is extremely limited, and reservations are required.

I captured this image during the Vivid Sydney Festival 2014, taken from Circular Quay ferry terminal in Sydney city looking out over the colorful reflections on the harbor to the Sydney Passenger Terminal and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, New South Wales, and Australia. The bridge is nicknamed "The Coathanger" because of its arch-based design.

Under the directions of Dr J.J.C. Bradfield of the NSW Department of Public Works, the bridge was designed and built by British firm Dorman Long and Co Ltd of Middlesbrough and opened in 1932. The bridge's design was influenced by the Hell Gate Bridge in New York. It was the world's widest long-span bridge until construction of the new Port Mann Bridge in Vancouver. It is also the fifth longest spanning-arch bridge in the world, and it is the tallest steel arch bridge, measuring 134 metres (440 ft) from top to water level. Until 1967 the Harbour Bridge was Sydney's tallest structure.

1949 Series

1954 Series

# 32 February 1954 - # 51 December 1956

The late 1940s are generally thought of as a low point in comics history because of the demise of the Golden Age super-heroes, but in fact comics never before and rarely since enjoyed a larger, more diverse, and more adult readership than in those years. As a result, several genres, including romance, crime, and horror comics, emerged to cater to older readers, with more sophisticated stories and themes and a harder edge to their material.

Love Letters, from Quality Comics, came out quickly on the heals of the first romance comics from Simon and Kirby, Young Love and Young Romance. Love Letters took its cue from those pioneering titles, offering bittersweet tales of temptation, betrayal, class conflict, and emotional violence that belied the image of sappy sentimentalism that later overtook the love comics genre. Artists like Bill Ward and Reed Crandall helped lift the standard even higher.

I got this shot by pointing my camera through the window of the newly built Quality Hotel Globe in Stockholm.

I told the boys they could only have one Cookie each for dessert.

Leave it a Golden to pull out the scales and the large Cookies, and start weighing each one to find the biggest.

GF1 x 50mm Summicron M Mount

A friend of my father lent me a M mount so that I could load my 50mm Summicron and Summarit to the GF-1. More surprisingly, he passed me a Cosina 15mm F4.5 : )

Even though this combination is not new, I am still stunned by the image quality.

It was shipped to Austria and it came back 4 weeks later. It looked brand new and optics.... well.... FANTASTIC!.

Oh and the cost? Absolutly free. No charge at all.
