Quality Creek flows out of the hills near Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. There is a series of small waterfalls, with this being the most accessible. The hike to the falls is a very easy, enjoyable walk through a mixed spruce and pine forest where you may encounter a variety of birds and animals. Just remember to bring your bear spray along, just in case you come across grizzly or black bears or a cougar.

Chur, the oldest town in Switzerland is always a treat to visit. The city is located in the Swiss Alps, and is the regional capital of the Canton Graubünden (Grisons.) We had dinner in the old part of town near the Obertor, a gate to enter the old town.

Jet lagged, I woke up early, and started an hike before sunrise up the mountain from my hometown Schuders, located in the Swiss Alps near the Austrian border. I reached the top of the mountain ridge shortly after sunrise.

I've been trying for a shot like this for a while and the clouds were moving perfectly for a big stopper long exposure. Thanks for looking.

I was on the path down Montezuma's well and saw this frost in the cool, dim shade. Didn't have a tripod along, so quality is so-so, but it was a surprise to see (though it sure got cold enough at night!).

Four images I stitched together in Photoshop to created a panoramic image of the red dry outback desert in Australia with an amazing red cloud sunset. We were traveling between Burra, South Australia and Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia.

It's maybe not very good quality photo, 'cos there was very dark inside, but I'd like to show you our path in the Mahorčič Cave, along the Reka river. We were there after visiting the Škocjan Caves and little walk along the Big Collapse Doline :)

The Mahorčič Cave (Mahorčičeva Jama) was named after a local explorer Josef Mahorčič who was also the mayor of Naklo. The cave sits directly below the Škocjan village, after which the entire cave system got its name and is also where the Reka River flows underground. The sunlight streaming into the cave makes for an absolutely scenic shot.

The Reka river is the widest known sinking stream of the Classical Karst area in Slovenia, and it has been studied since the Antiquity. This river formed the Škocjan Caves, long limestone cave system which comprises one of the world's largest known underground river canyons, which was proclaimed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1986.

Światło słoneczne wpadające do jaskini tworzy malownicze widoki.

Last month I rented a lens that would work better in a low lighting setting event, but I had to try it out beforehand to test its qualities and features.

It was lovely. And Maddy made a good test subject.

Photographers have been playing with forced perspective ever since photography became possible.

According to a retraction the folks at Scientific American had to print in 1895,

"...An artist who lends himself to such methods of deception may be ranked as a thoroughbred knave, to be shunned by everybody". The folks at Scientific American had been fooled by the work of a Colorado photographer.

Earlier that year, W.L. Thorndyke, editor of the Loveland Reporter decided to help a buddy promote his potatoes. Photographer, Adam H. Talbot created an image that made it look as though farmer, Joseph B. Swan was carrying an 86-pound potato. It was never meant to be a fraud, just fun.

Somehow a copy of the image found its way to the editor of Scientific American. He thought it was real and printed an engraving of the image in the magazine along with this caption. "This huge vegetable specimen is 28 inches long, 14 in diameter, and is said to weigh 86lb. 10oz., which is equivalent to the weight of 1 1/2 bushels of ordinary potatoes. It is of the Maggie Murphy variety, excellent in quality and prolific in quantity".

There are two old potato barns in Sedgwick County, Colorado. Taters were once a big part of the economy on the eastern plains but not anymore. That didn't stop a couple of "thoroughbred knaves" from trying to capture the flavor of "The Great Potato Hoax" for your pleasure.

Please, don't send this image to the editors of Scientific American. They have a long memory and get testy when fooled.

This is a forced perspective photograph of 1/12 and 1/16 scale die-cast models in front of a real background.

On Sunday afternoon we went hiking at San Francisco's Lands End. We ended up at the Sutro Bath ruins, always a good spot for sunset. We had fun playing with the sun, communicating over distance with hand gestures - no mobile phone reception here.

This perfect one-point symmetry caught my eyes when transferring at the Zürich Hauptbahnhof.

I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, desaturated the image, and blended 50% of the red back in. I appreciate and welcome constructive feedback.
