Put in as part of phase 1 of the Selly Oak New Road scheme, this spur of road currently leads nowhere, as the proposed retail development on the former Birmingham Battery site has yet to be built.
Congrats to the Tucso Rifle Club. They put on an excellent Kids on Target Program. The smiles were as big as the piles of spent brass. Boy did those kids go through the .22 ammo.
S&W M&P15-22. Have to say good things. These kids went through FLATS of .22 bulk ammunition and I saw no failures although they did oil them at least once. I do not think Santa will get permission though.
Only at the last minute do we learn that the guides who talk us through the ceremony do so ... in Korean. An easy oversight to make. And despite Hee Jung's last ditch attempts to make sense of it all (which was tough even for a native) I still managed to put the teacup on my head, and wash my hands in the booze.
This year, Eric Hamber Secondary put on its 22nd annual fashion show.
The show showcased creative designs of dozens of students of all ages (Grade 8 to Grade 12).
Van Tech students were on site to do the make-up and hair of the models.

Rumah Kasih Sayang which located in Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang is a home for orphans, the underpriviliged, single mothers and the disabled. The house is currently occupied around 60 residents. It is run by seven volunteers and the fundings come from charity and public donation.

The founders of Kentucky's Campbell County were extremely inconsiderate in where they decided to put the courthouse. Not only did they put it 15 miles from where most of Campbell County lived, they put it in a weird corner where it's almost impossible to take a picture of it. There's a strange curve in the road here, and then they wrapped it in trees and electrical wires and built a radio tower right next to it, so the only angles where you can see any of it are either so tight that the perspective's all distorted, or you need to make a wildly twisted panorama that never connects all the power lines right.
Getting historical information about a county courthouse off the internet is always a lot more difficult than you'd think. You'd think this is the type of thing history buffs would go nuts for. It turns out it's more like the histories of church buildings, where the information is all written down on some mimeographed sheet of yellow paper stuffed in a trunk in the closet of somebody's grandmother, and they haven't gotten their grandchildren to scan it into the internet yet, so you have to go to the county library and ask a librarian if you want to know anything. This is compounded in Campbell County by the fact that there are two courthouses, and all the information on the internet talks about the Newport courthouse, which wasn't even an official courthouse until 2010. I didn't feel like tracking down the Campbell County library -- I'm not sure if there is one, really, and Campbell County would just ban all the books anyway -- so all I know about this building is that it was built in 1840. I'm guessing that information is only good for the middle of it, though, and that the two wings came later.
Yesterday, I put on my slightly too small gum-boots and made the most of the overcast weather by taking some photos at Glades Bay, a short walk from home along the Wulaba Aboriginal Heritage Track. This 360 degree panorama is made up of 72 images, 3 bracketed shots for each of the 24 overlapping viewpoints, stitched and blended with hugin and enfuse, then postprocessed (adaptive contrast enhancement and sharpening) using Gimp.
