Rain-X put to the test! A storm system was barreling into the state, bringing in the rainy, unsettled conditions... This was along I-680 SB around Sunol, CA during my evening commute home from work.
*Weather scenario: Residents throughout California were dealing with threats of flooding, mudslides, heavy snow, and hazardous travel on Tuesday as another powerful storm had lashed the state. Tuesday’s storm was the second in a series of three atmospheric rivers expected to strike the state over a week. Northern California was already saturated by heavy rain last weekend. With more rain incoming, flood watches were in effect for 13 million people thru Wednesday morning, including the Bay Area and the Sacramento Valley. As that storm drifts south, SoCal could see an inch to a few inches of rain from Tuesday thru Friday. The dry conditions there helped fuel disastrous wildfires around the Los Angeles area last month, but too much rain, too fast, could lead to mudslides in areas that were burned. Between Monday and Tuesday, the atmospheric river shifted into the Bay Area and northeast thru Sacramento, bringing more intense rainfall and heavy snow from the Golden Gate to the Sierra. The heaviest rains on Tuesday may come later in the day, in time for the afternoon and evening rush hour, with possible thunderstorms that may also bring lightning, stronger winds and heavier rain through the Bay Area. All this moisture was a welcome sight for the state but getting too much in a short amount of time wouldn’t be good as well…

My Kovu had to be put to sleep today.
He and i had something special i always said that.
i took him in as a homeless stray. summer of 2000
he came to me. we bonded. and fell in love.
If a Human were to have a Cat soul mate,
Kovu was mine without a Doubt.... we go way back.
I gave him extra special care,
That I know he will never forget.
He thanked me everyday by the look in his eyes
it was a Loyal look with deep appreciation behind it
...... I went way beyond the Human Duty of caring for a Stray
..... You would laugh if you saw how I tucked him in a Box
on my Porch with a Blanket and a Heated Disk I got from Pet smart
i would Tuck it under him in and under his Blanket. in his box.
and Kissed him on the head Good night and he would let me
....and EVERY night it was our routine.
we were Both there for each other.
I had cared for him for about 3 years (as a Stray)
and then...He disappeared....for a Month!
it was a heart wrenching 30 days..The not knowing?
...and one day he showed up
I saw a Smile on his face.
He had found his way back to me.
we needed each other we Belong together!
.... Oh and Let me add He never left my Side since!
he was the FIRST one to greet me every night
......If that wasn't true Love?
Kovu was MY GUY,
My Big strong Kovu.
sadly since january we have watched him detearriate
into skin and bones. ran test, besides the AIDS the vet said he was fine?
yet still happy, good appitite and in no apparent pain.
but today was the day. he was no longer able to go on.
the Vet said his "Cat AIDS" had taken over.
and got the best of him we had no choice but to say
....Goodnight to My Prince.

We make trivets out of old wine corks... it's all about recycling, you know!!! And, it gives us an excuse to drink wine... right? :)
Love the tree from the Live Simply set, lost count of the number of times I've used it & each time I try a different technique. Used some pearlescent glues here. Other stamps are from the Tree, Birds & Messages set. Close up photos in my own album.
We put up the Christmas tree! The garland is made from cranes from a thousand cranes I folded in the 1980s; all the other decorations are mandalas I have designed and folded.
