I know you can see off the end of the background but I was trying to hold the puppet and take the photo at the same time. Tricky!
A grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation allowed us to purchase some new things for the children's room: a puppet theater and some people puppets, a heavy-duty CD player (seen in background), a changing station for the library's restroom, and, coming in 2008, a brochure highlighting the library's resources for families with young children, and a couple of children's programs.

Sometimes I amaze even myself. The MF gang now exist as felt finger puppets. Here they are decorating the stall.
The most exciting thing about Hanoi, Viet Nam for me was seeing the performance of the water puppets. I went twice, the second time sitting on the floor right in front with my camera. The photos are prints of mine from the performance. These puppets are tourist-gift-size. The real ones are about 3 feet tall.
Thinking of calling him Ollie. This puppet was made with one of those promotional $1 scarves from Old Navy. I *thought* I could get a puppet out of one scarf, and well, I did. But frugal me, thinking, what would I do with all of those scarves if it didn't work, only bought 5 of them. See the tag? I repurposed the tag along with the fringe when I made the puppet.
Highlight of the party was the puppet show, performed by a puppet master affiliated with the Henson folks.
The Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood was my favourite place in the world when I was growing up a 5min walk from it.

Puppet is one of Indonesia's culture which still survive nowaday. Art of acting, vocalizing, music, speech, literary, painting, sculpture, symbolism, entirely contained within the puppet. It continues to evolve over time not only as an entertainment, but also as a media of propaganda, education, and philosophical understanding.
