Camo Man was a genetically engineered government project to make the ultimate super soldier who could infiltrate anywhere by being camoflaged all over!
Unfortunately for the government the project went wrong and Camo Man was born with bright ginger hair which meant he was easy to spot!
But this was lucky for Camo Man because he's a pacifist and he's rather watch birds than fight.
Camo Man's natural colouring make it easy for him to pursue his hobby of bird watching and get really close to the birds he loves!
He's got a way around his ginger hair making him easy for the birds to see him approach... he wears a hat... but don't tell the gonvernment! ;)
Camo Man was really just a prototype, I wanted to make a full person puppet, not just the top half.
I used the roly pattern from www.projectpuppet.com/ for the head and arms but the body and legs are all my own design.
The inside of the head and body is lined in this puppet for neatness and comfort.
The eyes are made of felt and his binoculars are a cheap kids toy that came free on a kids magazine.

Myanmar puppets, or Yoke thé, are a traditional form of Burmese marionette theatre that uses intricately carved wooden puppets controlled by a single puppeteer with many strings. The art form dates back to the late 18th century, with performances that can last all night and feature elaborate storylines from epics like the Ramayana and mythological tales. Today, they are both a popular form of entertainment and a common souvenir.

Clay sculpt of my puppet head, inspired by fantasy art such as The Dark Crystal and developed from my CG sculpt. Changes include larger exaggerated wrinkles, larger (friendlier) eyes and a larger more expressive mouth. This will be moulded in a three-part mould and re-cast in latex, which will be added to the rest of the body (a half body without legs, due to time constraints). The mouth will be operated by a hand inserted under the body.

The puppet's name is Slappy. I made him out of dumptser scrounged styrofoam the night before a shoot. His head once protected a home stereo.
He was supposed to resemble Robert Deniro.
