This pupal exuvium was found sticking up out of the soil. Thinking it might be an Asilidae pupal exuvium.

The cat is the BOSS the big pup knows it and is trying to teach his cousins how to be nice to the cat so the cat does not slap them in hte face... Scruff knows how to put them in there place.. But pups love to play with Scruffles...
Two sibs perch on a grassy log at Trout Lake, Yellowstone NP. This year, momma had three healthy pups, although one was constantly distracted and left behind. The wayward pup would peep loudly until momma came back and retrieved it!

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I was ecstatic to see this amazing lady in the 2023 "Crazy for Bratz Kidz Lot." Admittedly, my main reason for purchasing the $5 bin of 30 plus dolls was the Bratz. I had noted a number of enticing Bratz Kidz floating around the bottom of the blue plastic tub. In fact, I was so distracted by my large headed friends, that I hardly paid any mind at all to the Barbies who tagged along. Once my sister and I were at home, I came upon the exciting discovery of not just one Potty Training Pups Barbie, but TWO!!! That's right, the child who once owned the lot had the blonde AND African American variations!!! It's not something I experience all that often. As a kid myself, I usually bought only the African American version. Since Barbies weren't cheap at the store, it was a rarity for me to get both the blonde and AA versions. I am not sure if the bin came from siblings, or a kid who simply loved the Potty Training Pups dolls enough to want two. Since both gals were still sporting their original dresses, I'm leaning more towards siblings. That and of course the fact that there were duplicated pieces to "1st Edition" Bratz Cloe (suggesting there were once upon a time two Cloe dolls). I'm not sure why the previous owner(s) didn't play with this gorgeous Barbie doll. I adore her Adria/Desiree head mold. Mattel didn't use this sculpt much when I was a kid. Normally, the African American Barbies I bought in stores featured the beautiful Asha mold (sometimes the older Christie one). Since Barbie was so lightly played with (if at all), she cleaned up spectacularly!

Here's another of our new recruits. This montage shows four sides of a single pup. At least we think it does as many of these siblings look very alike.
The pup - not named at the time this images was taken - is one of a litter that are just beginning the careers as operational police dogs in Greater Manchester Police.
This image was taken on the day the pups went away to spend some time with volunteer careers before returning to start their full time training.

Finally got my hands on a Bronica, and went out and shot two rolls when it was really dark, so I basically trashed 2 full rolls. But thats okay, I was dumb for shooting when it wasn't very light out. Anyway, this was one of the better shots on the roll.

This fox pup let me get about 12 feet away crawling on my belly about a foot at a time for almost a half an hour. The cat food kept him steady while I moved in. Definitely the coolest pics I've gotten with the new 70-200f2.8L lens and 1.4x extender.
We were in La Jolla waiting for sunset to take some long exposure shots of the La Jolla Tidepools when we noticed some sea lion pups playing in the waves. These two seemed to be having a great time playing in the surf and we had fun taking some shots of them before sunset arrived.
Sorry I missed yesterday but Pup's been rather unwell ... was all set to take her to the vet today but overnight she's picked up, thank Heavens!
Some sort of tummy bug methinks, but she really went down like a felled oak, needing peace and quiet more than cuddles and suchlike.
Then, this morning, she perked up, went out for her walk in her usual happy way then stole my cup of coffee! I suppose that will help with rehydrating her, at least!
And before you say it, I know that coffee isn't good for dogs, but she's been stealing it for 9 years now, whenever she could get at my mug, ever since she was a tiny puppy ... in fact the first time she got her nose in my coffee mug and drank the lot, after 10 minutes she let forth a huge belch, rattling the windows! She looked horrified at belching, then rather amused with herself! 😁

While doing my daily Harbor seal observations, I found this pup in the mud flats crying for its mom. I usually do not pick up pups without leaving them for a bit to make sure they have not been abandoned.
It is against the law (I volunteer for a Allied whale a local rescue organization), there is a chance their mother will come and get them, and the older pups can bite and have nasty virus'. Best to call a local rescue organization, aquarium, the coast guard or if all else fails the local police.
All the other seals had left the haulout so they wouldn't get stranded by the low tide. This little guy was way up on the mudflats bleating desparately. He was beginning to look dehydrated, he was thin and his eyes were a bit sunken.
It was a mile walk up the hill to the house and we both got pretty sweaty; the pup squirming and bawling in my arms.
Hancock's story begins here
The Sopwith Pup was a British single-seater biplane fighter aircraft built by the Sopwith Aviation Company. It entered service with the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service in the autumn of 1916. With pleasant flying characteristics and good manoeuvrability, the aircraft proved very successful. The Pup was eventually outclassed by newer German fighters, but it was not completely replaced on the Western Front until the end of 1917. Remaining Pups were relegated to Home Defence and training units. The Pup's docile flying characteristics also made it ideal for use in aircraft carrier deck landing and takeoff experiments.
In 1915, Sopwith produced a personal aircraft for the company's test pilot Harry Hawker, a single-seat, tractor biplane powered by a 50 hp Gnome rotary engine. This became known as Hawker's Runabout; another four similar aircraft have been tentatively identified as Sopwith Sparrows. Sopwith next developed a larger fighter that was heavily influenced by this design, though more powerful and controlled laterally with ailerons rather than by wing warping.
The resulting aircraft was a single-bay, single-seat biplane with a fabric-covered, wooden framework and staggered, equal-span wings. The cross-axle type main landing gear was supported by V-struts attached to the lower fuselage longerons. The prototype and most production Pups were powered by the 80 hp (60 kW) Le Rhône 9C rotary engine. Armament was a single 0.303 inch (7.7 mm) Vickers machine gun synchronized with the Sopwith-Kauper synchronizer.
A prototype was completed in February 1916 and sent to Upavon for testing in late March. The Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) quickly ordered two more prototypes, then placed a production order. Sopwith was heavily engaged in production of the 1½ Strutter, and produced only a small number of Pups for the RNAS. Deliveries commenced in August 1916.
The Royal Flying Corps (RFC) also placed large orders for Pups. The RFC orders were undertaken by sub-contractors Standard Motor Co. and Whitehead Aircraft. Deliveries did not commence until the beginning of 1917. A total of 1,770 Pups were built by Sopwith (96), Standard Motor Co. (850), Whitehead Aircraft (820), and William Beardmore & Co. (30).
