Early morning prep makes for a splendid dinner meal. Home made bbq sauce and home made coleslaw hit the spot with this.

Hard Eight is pit-style bbq and while you may not find hours long lines like you would at other establishments, this is excellent food. I had brisket and pulled pork with a side of mac n' cheese and complimentary beans.

Emily Stone is Big Woods Brewing Company's Kitchen Goddess (or head chef). Despite the fact that she is a vegetarian, she cooks a mean hunk of meat: her Pulled Pork Nachos (drizzled with ranch and barbecue sauce among other things) is one of the most popular items on the menu.

Very nice local support in Saline for the Hornets playing in the State Football Championship game. This sign at Wendy's was great - as long as you read more than just the first two lines.

I was purely a "consultant" on this one! Keith manned the grill, worked in the rub and pulled until his heart...and his guests...were content!

The full recipe for "Memphis Dust", but the ingredients (though I halved them):

 

* 3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar

* 3/4 cup white sugar

* 1/2 cup paprika

* 1/4 cup kosher salt

* 1/4 cup garlic powder

* 2 tablespoons ground black pepper

* 2 tablespoons ground ginger powder

* 2 tablespoons onion powder

* 2 teaspoons rosemary powder

 

Lunch on the second day at Brix. We were still full from dinner the night before and breakfast so we didn't order much.
