I noticed water pooling in the base of this succulent and the water resistant leaves had given the liquid a look as though melted glass had been poured in.

There was this large flat rock that had a puddle of rain left over from the day before. This is what I saw. Be safe all and enjoy always (;-D
A pale swallowtail, Papilio eurymedon, took a few moments to choose just the right spot, then settled in for a long drink. Butterflies gather in places with mud to take a drink thick with minerals, carbohydrates and organic molecules, including proteins.

We'll have a lot of variety in our offerings including Bodie this year, including one weekend with interior access:
- Our typical 3-night workshops with one night in Bodie: July 8-11.
- A peak rising Milky Way session in early June, with 2 nights practice, then TWO nights in Bodie: June 1-5.
- 5 nights peak June Milky Way rising: 2 nights practice, one night in Bodie, extended with 2 additional nights in historic Central Nevada sites: June 10-15.
- We also have a Bodie interiors session one Sunday morning in October, and we'll fill the weekend with some fall colors and night photography (outside of Bodie): October 8-10.

Kahn loves to walk in puddles to cool his feet
Mather Lodge's overlook provided another sunset the following day. There was rain during the night and the large Hartshorne Sandstone patio held water in some places. I choose to put the camera on the ground and get a bit of sky reflected in the puddle of water. It almost has the look of an infinity pool.
