Looking up, down, and all around, you never know what you might find. The scene didn't quite fit in the frame straight on, but looked eerie (in a beautiful way) in this puddle.

The 245th of my one-per-day photos for 2007. Playing in a mud puddle taking a "short-cut" home from work. I used 2 shower caps and some tape to "splash-proof" the camera.

Who says that cats don't like water!!!!!

These feline friends are enjoying playing in the puddle after a break in the rain!!

My little neighbor, Henry, studying a large puddle beside our street.

Potholes are concealed by the meltwater, disguising them as innocent puddles.

Best seen large, this is a large, flat puddle off Highway 64, at the White Buffalo Company. This is reflecting the farming trailer seen in the largest view in my stream. A small, isolated part of the reflection is seen in a different angle, here.

This is entitled the Puddle Stone, located on Rombalds Moor, high above Ilkley. There two slabs actually, part of of the Stanza Stones series of carved stones in the Yorkshire landscape. Each one features a poem by Simon Armitage describing water in one of its many forms, hence a Beck Stone, a Puddle Stone, a Mist Stone, a Rain Stone and a Dew Stone. There is also a Snow Stone. The letters were cut by Pip Hall.

Puddle

Rain-junk

Sky-litter

Some May mornings

Atlantic storm-horses

clatter this way,

shedding their iron shoes

in potholes and ruts,

shoes that melt

into steel grey puddles

then settle and set

into cloudless mirrors

by noon.

The shy deer

of the daytime moon

comes to sip from the rim

But the sun

likes the look of itself,

stares all afternoon,

Its hard eye

Lifting the sheen

from the glass,

turning the glaze

to rust.

Then we don’t see things for dust.

These gritstone pavers were reclaimed from an industrial site near Bolton. Originally quarried on the Yorkshire moors in the nineteenth century, and transported for mill-factory flooring, they have made their return journey, over a hundred years later, to rest on Rombalds Moor.

It's raining like crazy and a nice puddle has formed in our yard. Tried to capture rain drops hitting it. Better on black

There has been a bit of heavy rain the night before and there was a lot of large puddles in the park people had to navigate. Sun was just about gone here. The extra speed of my new lens let me keep the shutter speed high to freeze the action.

The girls went out after a strong rain to jump in puddles.

It's not a fractal, but that's why I took the picture of this puddle on the road. It's not your typical oil spill. Maybe radiator fluid?

Mass upload, may delete some for quality's sake!

It's a lot of fun to walk around and look at everyone's dolls. I enjoy seeing how people customize them. But it's also neat to see some of the rarer dolls or brand new ones in person.

I snapped this photo of our kitten Puddles when she was playing on a chair on our sunny front porch. She pounced just a second after I snapped this shot.
