Forgot to upload this yesterday. I am at the other end of Chippy's leash. Pongo, usually a puddle-avoider (to answer Colin's question), had a brief lapse in judgement, I guess, and went bounding through this one. Chip never saw a puddle he didn't like.
I soaked my pants doing this, it was really fun though!

It's impressive. Usually this area is dry, nothing more than dirt and rocks. But put a little water there and all of a sudden it's filled with eggs and tadpole -- a cradle for new life.
I knew if I waited long enough, one of them would jump in the puddle. For this one, Joey tip-toed his way through. I think he was unsure of what to do.
We had a little rain this morning. We planned to go for a walk afterward, but we didn't make it much past this puddle.

On Saturday, I was playing with reflections in puddles from the recent rain. Today, I need to post and run. Any leftover puddles are frozen beneath the snow! It's time to go out and shovel.

This puddle gave me hours of fun after I shot it in January 2008. I already posted three montages of other versions of it, and here is the one that I like the best.
The original is flat and grey, amazing what a bit of digi-fiddle can do!!
BTW If I lived behind these gates, which are a little further up my road, they would be off their hooks and behind the garage by now.
I see residents of this gated area waiting for them to open for what seems an eternity; if they were not electric they could have nipped out and opened them in a fraction of the time, without contributing to global warming.
Benjamin started on the edge of the puddle, but the inevitable happened; he ended up in the middle of it.
