Some leaves floating in a puddle. A reminder that autumn is just around the corner. Although meteorologists will tell you it's already here in the northern hemisphere.

Here’s the main pathway in the Fenway Victory Gardens. It’s very green and full of birds and bunnies. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Inspired by Flickr's AmsterSam, this is a puddle shot of the iconic RH Hall building on Cork's docks.
This is a small puddle formed in the car-shed in which the shadow of the grill gate is formed. The slender leaf with kinks on both edges formed interesting circular troughs. The most interesting part is the formation of the miniscular reflections of the full grill gate in each of these troughs. It can be viewed best in the picture below. The ripple with the shadow as its perfect diameter is another interesting aspect in this.

Today started with really heavy rain and so the morning literally was a wash out but the neighborhood pigeons seemed to enjoy the puddles. The afternoon went better as I am clearing out an old shed and the contents had to go to the recycling center and as you now have to book an appointment so 2.30pm was the allotted time. all went well and everything was cleared out so now just the shed to go. Someone has already agreed to take it but now it has to be dismantled and shipped over the road.,

It always storms whenever I have to take standardized tests, speaking of which I took ACTs today. They were pretty alright. I love the giant puddle that forms outside my house whenever it rains.
Limited sidewalks plus heavy rains make for interesting paths such as here in the province of Bulacan, the Philippines.
At the end of last week Brisbane received between 180mm and 200mm of torrential rain in a 24 hour period. Houses and businesses were caught unawares and creeks and rivers flooded the surrounding land. There are still puddles everywhere alongside roads where the rainfall settled into any ditch or hollow in the ground. The water has slowly subsided but there's still plenty laying around making for some cool reflections. This ditch is now drying up and the grass and debris will eventually breakdown in the hot and humid weather which naturally follows the rain.
It's a lot of fun to walk around and look at everyone's dolls. I enjoy seeing how people customize them. But it's also neat to see some of the rarer dolls or brand new ones in person.
I brought her to a far away seas of Aur, and she has decided to stay there. It was very nice making you. Until we meet again Puddles! Make youself many many fishy friends! I'm so envious!

Good morning everyone and I hope you had a nice weekend. I thought I would start the week out with a short video (30 seconds long) of a Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) puddling.
Puddling is the term given to the aggregation of some insects on wet soil or dung to obtain moisture and nutrients. Puddling is most commonly seen in butterflies, sometimes with large numbers of individual butterflies gathering at the edge of puddles, on wet soil, dung or carrion. The butterflies use their proboscis to obtain moisture and also other nutrients and salts.
For those of you not crazy about videos, I also included two still shots of the same butterfly, which can be found in the comment section and my stream.
As a side note, both the video and photos were taken on an overcast day with intermittent showers. Plus it stormed pretty heavily the night before. The only reason I mention it is because everything was very wet and damp, which chiggers love. Being the dampness, and they must have been out in droves. While on my hands & knees taking videos and pics I ended up with a slew of chigger bites. So many it was nearly impossible to sleep the next two nights due to the burning and itching :-(
Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you have a truly great day and week,
Lacey
At least the 'cooners are enjoying all the rain we've been having. This is right outside our back door tonight.
