A puddle becomes an alternate reality

When the warm season ends,

And the leaves die from the cold

I find myself looking down

Feeling kind of old..

Until a pavement puddle

Glistens and shines back at me

Reminding me of promised moments

That I will live to see.

Yellow Bellied Puddle Frog (Occidozyga laevis) - Danum Valley, Malaysia

These frogs were commonly seen in puddles and small pools of water in the jungle. This one and several others were regularly present in a mammal wallow that served as a breeding site for Wallace's tree frogs.

After the storm, the clouds are clearing and a puddle reflects a tree, while it waits for Spring to come

I always go in this side room in the hothouse when I visit Wisley gardens as it has the most amazing floor and there are always puddles from the mornings watering.

A textbook reflection shot in central London, next to Charing Cross Station, taken with iPhone 4S.

Crossed Kodak ED-3 which I first put in the dishwasher and after a few weeks of drying, I shoot with my Canon EOS 300n

Every path has its puddles~

London. Shot with the Canon S95

Taking a walk after rain I decided to shoot every puddle on the way. Konica Recorder with Polypan F, contrast added.

Low level pinhole snaps at Fairlie on a very wet day

Love it when you can break puddles and they do this. The last of our recent cold spell has today been replaced by temperatures of 12C with birds singing as if spring has just started. Stupid weather.

My little boy recently got some rubber boots to walk on the trail with, as this time of year it's always full of puddles. Boy does he love the water....and the mud....and the rocks.... :)

Puddling is the action of butterflies drinking from moist soil and often absorbing salts.

ALL IMAGES ARE BEST seen On Black, yours too!

This was an image that touched me deeply, it reminded me of when I was little, my boys were small… every child should be allowed to play with sticks etc in a puddle!

Have a lovely day and thank you, M, (*_*)

6x6 Agfa Isola hack

Alondra's eye twitches as she she sees a vision of a city appear before her eyes. "Is this it?" She whispers to herself as she looks around the city without seeing anyone else around. "It's spooky..." She whispers to herself.

Alondra steps forward and her bare foot splashes in a puddle of water that sends a cold chill up her leg. She looks down at her foot before noticing her leg is also bare, and the realization suddenly hits her that she's not wearing any clothes at all.

"Oh my god..." Alondra gasps before covering her boobs with her arm and using her other hand to shield herself down below. "What the hell am I supposed to do here?"

YOU CHOOSE:

A. Take off running down the street and try to find somewhere you can hide.

B. Just wait until someone comes to you to help you.

The most water I could find!

Sometimes even asphalt is reflective.

Manú Biosphere Reserve, Peru

Dozens of Pierid butterflies have gathered on the bank of the Manú River to drink salts from the mineral-rich clay - a behaviour known as 'puddling'.

2nd attempt at some video. It gets a bit muddled / distorted at the point where it slows down. Not too sure why, but I hope to eventually figure it out!

EDIT - i only just realised that I left the sound on. I thought it was silent....turns out the laptop was on mute when I was tweaking it :-(
