String tied onto the loops in the spring with a backup knot. I glued the knots after I took this.
Peter helped me tie a string onto Pudding's stretched spring today. Her eyes still won't change though and I have to hand roll them. I think I'm going to have to open her head up to really fix her mech. But now she can sleep and her lids are already less droopy.
There's something wrong with our pudding recipe. I found it in the back of our recipe folder, a photocopy of hand-written instructions in American units. Each of us thought the other had put it there.

Black pudding contains pig fat and pig's blood. Graham made me try it. This is me before I took a bite.
My friend Steve the horn player is currently experiencing a rhubarb glut, so I was more than willing to help him out by relieving him of a couple of sticks so that I could make a crumble. I also threw in a splash of orange and mango juice, a generous dash of ground ginger, an apple, a handful of raisins and some muesli.
Very tasty.
This is one of the advantages of doing a 365 photo project - it gives an excuse to post photos (however mundane) of life's little good things, records of domestic detail through the seasons.
