Pub Restaurant meal

Bacon and Cheese Burger, Chips, Corn on the Cob and Slaw.

The Lacon Arms, Hemsby, Norfolk

We came across this nameless bar (the owner said "just call us The Top Bar") and called in for a quick glass of Zot Dubbel. Apparently they hold a quiz night at 10.00pm on Tuesday nights, so we remained there, had a few more Zots and the 'British Railways Universally Challenged' team came third. Not a bad result.

The Gallon Pot at Market Place in Great Yarmouth was opened in 1772 as Burroughs Wine Lodge. In 1907 it was noted as the oldest licensed house in the town. It was destroyed by bombing in 1943 and was rebuilt and opened as The Gallon Pot in 1960. It was a popular pub that served food. It closed January 2014.

A 2nd shot of the bar at this great Fullers pub in Cornhill, London.

Hale fellow and well met in the Border Hotel Bar at the end of my walk along The Pennine Way. David gave me a lift well out of his way to help me catch a bus to Berwick upon Tweed. I just missed a connection but hitched a lift and a taxi driver gave me a free run into Berwick, the third example of the Kindness of Strangers I have been blessed with on my walk. A quick wash fish 'n chips bus to Newcastle then on to Middlesbrough and home early evening. Great stuff, cheers mate..Wha's like us?

Street reflection on a pub window in Covent Garden

An English pub at Christmas.

Situated beside the bridge where Great Western Road crosses the Grand Union Canal, just north of Westbourne Park station and formerly known as the Grand Union, and before that the Pelican and the Carton Bridge Tavern,

The pub is a Fullers House but also offers Litovel, San Miguel and Becks Vier and good food, but its greatest asset is its Canalside Terrace

The Cygnet Public House which stood at the end of Churchill Road, Norwich. It was a nice idea to install this plaque into the wall of the flats that replaced it. I lived on Churchill Road from 1989-1994 - but never went into the pub.

The Lobster Pub Sign in Sherringham,

Norfolk.

They are doing a great job on this once boarded up pub (see link below); the owner has received £265,000 from the Townscape Heritage Initiative Fund (THI), to add to the £250,000 of his own money to refurbish the premises. The THI is a £250 million project funded by EU regional grants, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Pontypool Regeneration Partnership, the Welsh Government's Targetted Match Fund, and Torfaen County Borough Council, with the aim of regenerating Pontypool town centre.
