I spoke to an old friend Monday. Eli Kince and I have known each other for 40 years.

Suffice it to say our friendship, trust and brotherhood has roots that stretch way, way back in the day.

He is an artist in New York,

We spoke of the dreams of our youth, we spoke of the joys of middle age, we spoke of the next stages of our lives.

He is the one person I would have trusted to look after my son had he chosen to head to New York after high school.

That didn't happen, but he remembers the conversation he had with a developing artist and the kid's passion for his craft. That was in 1991.

We also talked in candid, real terms of being healthier than Dennis or Willie. They were our fathers, and at our age, they were tired, old and declining. Tough, hard men who became more frail with time.

Eli (I call him that here, and he calls me something other than DeHoll) is preparing to create a new life for himself as an expatriate. He will be happy on Hispanola and I will visit sometimes and drink rum and eat conch with him.

I am headed toward a creative life of fiction that is far different from the rancid world of reality I've watched and explained for longer than any of our children have been alive.

The lucky hand? It belongs to a middle aged man whose doctors are impressed with his lust for life and his passion for health...

Be assured that it is blessed and the mind that controls it is aware that its good fortune cannot be taken for granted.

Probably the last original single released. In the 1970s People like to hear another Kind of Soul > Disco (Argghh). The Flip is a real good old Soul Piece but at that time when the TEMPTATION released their PSYCHEDLIC SHACK - complete out of time.

This pan has a lot of use lately for making chutneys, pickles and relishes!

On occasion, I buy the even more expensive specialty coffees at Starbucks. They come in a black cardboard box with an elaborate, cutout lid. This is that lid- I kept one around looking for something cool to do with it. For this shot, I macro-focused in a dark room, then using the remote control, repeatedly took 1s exposures while twirling a fiber optic keychain toy behind it. I rather like the effect- pretty psychedlic.

all variations of the hemp leaf pattern, traditonal pattern for the clothing of newborn - so they fast and straight, like hemp!
