In our search for a cafe, we happened upon something going on at the end of the street. We watched them briefly and decided to turn around and backtrack since we didn't really know the nature of the procession that was about to take place.
Can anyone tell what this was all about? Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of the banner in full.

Thousands of protesters marched through downtown Chicago on Sunday in one of the city's largest demonstrations in years, airing grievances about war, climate change and a wide range of other complaints as world leaders assembled for a NATO summit.
The protest, which for months had stirred worries about violence in the streets, drew together a broad assortment of participants, including peace activists joining with war veterans and people more focused on economic inequality.
Hundreds of protesters gathered late Sunday night near the Art Institute of Chicago as first lady Michelle Obama hosted a dinner for spouses of NATO leaders inside. At least 100 Chicago police officers in riot gear were also at the scene.

On Nov 4, California was a major factor behind Obama taking office, yet the same state narrowly passed Proposition 8, which bans gay marriage.... Clearly wrong on so many levels, let alone the fact that it should not be something up for a vote. Nov 7th, the people of San Francisco took to the streets to show their disgust and raise awareness. The march started near Civic Center and went to Dolores Park. I stayed at Market and 9th with a group who blocked Market Street for nearly 3 hours in an act of civil disobedience. The main group of marchers came back from Dolores, the entire mass went to the steps of city hall, and then ended up in the heart of The Castro.

I made this picture for my blog, the article being a recollection of protesting an Autism Speaks fundraiser. The picture is a close-up of a dictionary, focused on two definitions of the word asshole. Stumbled upon this protest in Westminster today. I had gone for the General Inspection of Changing of the Guard but never got past this unreconstructed facet of the labour movement with its dinosaurs (Corbyn, Abbott) hairy bearded older gents (and ladies too) Although as a disabled pensioner I empathise.
