I taped the backing fabric to the floor, pin basted in a few spots, then thread basted. I used a single strand of actual quilting thread. I have a whole box of maybe 20 year old thread from my grandmother. Still seems good....
Next up: try running this through my machine again.

Properly cared for bearded dragons make one of the best pet reptiles available. Their needs are somewhat complex and without proper care they can become ill. You will find that experienced keepers have differences of opinions on which substrates, ultraviolet light sources or insects are "the best". Don't let this controversy overwhelm or confuse you.
The following recommendations are based on what has worked well for myself and numerous others. It's best to do your research, gather different views and information, and reach your own conclusion.
Substrate
Substrate is a highly debated topic. Particulate substrates (walnut shells, lizard litter, Carefresh, and Calci-Sand) can cause potentially lethal impaction when ingested. Many keepers successfully use paper towels for babies, and alfalfa rabbit pellets or washed playsand for juveniles and adults.
Dragons kept on playsand should be fed in a separate enclosure to eliminate the risk of impaction from consuming sand while capturing prey insects. I have had the best luck with paper towels for babies and alfalfa rabbit pellets for juveniles and adults. Be aware that alfalfa rabbit pellets can grow mold or fungus if they get wet from spilled water. This can create health hazards.
Lighting and heating
Lighting and heating are crucial to your dragon's well being. The necessary heat, light and UVB can be provided with a household light bulb and a Reptisun 5.0

Eating properly again today - hooray!
Photography course last night , was really good and we were in the studio which was very cool. Liked the effect of this shot teamed with the facial expression think it works quite well. The settings on this one aren't quite right but as we went on I discovered (with the help of one of the guys on the class!) how to change a couple of settings and get them right. Good lesson.
And yes, took this yesterday but edited today so counts for today!

Felt properly crap when I woke up this morning - I'm definitely paying the price for overdoing it last week. I texted my boss and she said I could work from home. Had a busy and productive day - but was so glad to have avoided the commute and conserved a bit of energy.
This was my lunch creation - I opened a jar of sauerkraut the other day and have been having it for nearly every meal since, as it needs to be eaten within 3-4 days. It goes very well with avocado on toast :) I added some cayenne pepper and pumpkin seeds too, to make it a bit more interesting.
Had a relaxed evening, while Tim was quite busy, putting the bins away, doing the online food shop and doing all his exercises. I just collapsed on the sofa and watched him do his thing!
