Thórsmörk (Icelandic: Þórsmörk) is a mountain ridge in Iceland that was named after the Norse god Thor (Þór). It is situated in the south of Iceland between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull. The name "Thórsmörk" properly refers only to the mountain ridge between the rivers Krossá, Þröngá and Markarfljót, but is sometimes used informally to describe a wider area that includes the region between Thórsmörk and Eyjafjallajökull. Thórsmörk is one of the most popular hiking areas in Iceland.
In the valley, the river Krossá winds between the mountains. The valley is closed in between glaciers, Mýrdalsjökull being at the rear end of the valley. This leads to an especially warm climate, better than in the rest of south Iceland. In the protected valley, there is green vegetation of moss, fern, birchwood and other small shrubs.
Thórsmörk is popular amongst hikers. A lot of different tours are possible, from hiking on the glaciers to trekking (i.e., Laugavegur up to Landmannalaugar) or smaller excursions, such as to the canyon Stakkholtsgjá with its waterfall or five small day treks, to the summits of surrounding peaks, with rewarding views, even in bad weather. The Krossá is a cold fast river coming down from glaciers: a bridge allows pedestrians to cross. There are daily coach arrivals, from Reykjavík and other towns in Iceland.

I returned to Iceland for my third time there to hike the world’s famous Laugavegurinn trek combined with its Fimmvörðuháls hiking neighbour; we went in the south-to-north direction starting in Skógar and finishing our journey in the colorful Landmannalaugar area.
The itinerary was rather straightforward and not surprising: Skógar -> Fimmvörðuháls -> Þórsmörk -> Emstrur (Botnar) -> Álftavatn -> Hrafntinnusker -> Landmannalaugar.
We were quite lucky with the weather except for Emstrur -> Álftavatn part when we experienced the most horrible weather I have ever encountered during my hiking trips – really strong wind and constant rain made from this part a “survival” odyssey. It is often said weather is a crucial factor in this hike and our experience from this particular day (and also from the other – beautiful – days) just confirmed that.
This is an afternoon shot taken on the way to the Þórsmörk valley where we stayed overnight in the tourist hut - both the evening and morning views of the surrounding landscape were really magical.
I believe I have those attributes to varying degrees . For example, I am still working on "skill." But I have no doubt about the last one: Sincerity
What I mean is that you truly want to look as female as possible--not a clown, not a caricature of a woman, not (shudder!) a guy in a dress.
Well, there I go spouting off again; you may have different thoughts on the matter
Same basic type -- an "agate" that is more properly classified as a jasperoid, but has many agate features. Though from different claims, both are from Chihuahua State in Mexico
The one on the left from the Flor de Durazno claim, and features fortifications, eyes, orb botryoidal areas and hematite inclusions. When I was cutting the pre-form, the tip fell off, revealing some arsenic-yellow druzy bots. It looks cool, so instead of trimming of more material to repair it, I left a raw edge. The colors and patterns remind me of some Fordite I've seen.
The mostly monochromatic shield shape one on the right is the dog-tooth lace variety (the tooth-shaped formations don't show in this cab), featuring fine lace, fortifications, sagenite and a few small orbs. A crack appeared on the girdle on the top part of the shield. This caused a little anxiety, but nothing fell off, and most of the crack ground out. You can see a bit of it along the top. The fractures below the surface on tha face are not as prominent in person.

In order to properly restore the Shanghai Plaster finish of the main staircase, the URA specially hired a few local senior conservation engineering experts who can still master the Shanghai Plastering technique to supervise the conservation project.
They helped the engineering team to prepare similar materials based on the original colour and thickness of the stone particles.
They also taught the traditional methods of scrubbing and polishing to make partial repairs for the incomplete parts.
The Managing Director of the URA, Ir Wai Chi Sing, said that he was very pleased to see this conservation work. Not only for the preservation of the building’s hardware, but more importantly, for passing on the historical craftsmanship and culture to the young engineering team.
He suggested that when the public visit the market buildings in the future, they should examine the construction of the main staircase to understand the story behind the preservation of this historical building.

I attended a sheep herding trial this morning. Overcast skies made it nice and cool for the border collies but most of my pics didn't turn out....very difficult to capture catch lights. 'Glad I don't do this for a living. Had to delete my "group shots"....a real shame....I took the wrong lens and not good light. More below.
These are such extremely intelligent and hard working dogs if trained properly and given an outlet like this.

Had to use 20 sec delay timer for this with no remote or working release cable. Clicked the shutter button from the front of the bonnet, ran round into the driving seat and set off. A real "hit n hope" shot.

Assuming this bird is properly identified, this Lilian’s Lovebird (Agapornis lilianae) should not be found in Lake Chapala. These birds are found in Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique et Madagascar. And, because of this subject's chocolate face, it is also possible that it is a Black-cheeked Lovebird (Agapornis nigrigenis), in which case it is even more extraordinary because the Black-cheeked Lovebird presence is limited to Southwest Zambia.
According to the World Parrot Trust, there are over 100 exotic species in Jalisco state, eight of which are of birds. I went back to the place where I saw these birds and they were all gone. The Lake Chapala Birders records exotic birds once it is proven they are reproducing in their new environment. The Lilian’s Lovebirds are not recorded.

"Exeter Cathedral, properly known as the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter in Exeter, is an Anglican cathedral, and the seat of the Bishop of Exeter, in the city of Exeter, Devon, in South West England. The present building was complete by about 1400, and has several notable features, including an early set of misericords, an astronomical clock and the longest uninterrupted vaulted ceiling in England." - from Wikipedia.
This summer I did a solo cycling tour across Europe through 12 countries over the course of 3 months. I began my adventure in Edinburgh, Scotland and finished in Florence, Italy cycling 8,816 km. During my trip I took 47,000 photos. I recently got through my initial sifting through my photos and I'm now ready to share some of my favourites.
MY FIRST ELTON GIG! :O I could have gone to a bazillion more if I'd checked him out properly when I was... 12...
Listen to my epic Elton playlist on Spotify!
Best Elton song: "Live like horses" :D
Best Elton album: "The one" :D
And here is the overly long story (in list form) of my overly long road to Elton fandom:
- Ca 1995: I'm obsessed with "The lion king", which I see for the first time on November 27, 1994. :s The Swedish version, but it might be the first time I hear Elton's music. :) (In the unlikely event that I'd never heard him on the radio...)
- I don't get the soundtrack CD until September 14, 1995 (my 12th b-day), for some reason. Might be the first time I hear Elton's voice! :D (Unless, yeah...) Though at the time, I'm disappointed that I didn't receive a Swedish version of the soundtrack. May not exist. :p (Unfun fact: I still haven't seen the movie in English.)
- The 90's: My parents sometimes play his "Love songs" collection, which they may have received as a ChriFSMas present in 1995. Or not. I can hear some good shit on it. For example, "Sacrifice", "Don't let the sun go down on me", and "Nikita" are striking. But I don't sit around listening to it on my own.
- Liking "Candle in the wind 1997"
- Me in 1998: "WHAT?! Liam from The Prodigy likes Elton John? That is hilarious and adorkable. Squee."
- Me in 1998: "Today we had to play the guitar in music class, unngh, it's so painful. I wish I could play the piano like Elton John or someone." (One of the obstacles to this alternative life plan is that I AM MUSICALLY RETARDED. I fucking hated music class.)
- 2000: I become obsessed with Arabian horses and surf the websites of pretty stallions and watch their promo videos. One of the videos has a nice song to go with the nice horse (Ali Saroukh). I'm too stupid to find out the song title by Alta Vista-ing the fucking lyrics, but on August 11, I show the video to my mum and ask her if she recognizes the song. No, but we discuss the possibility that it's Elton. Another video from the same farm has "Circle of life" as a soundtrack, so... I dig out ye olde "Love songs" CD. Turns out the mysterious song is "The one". It's fucking great. It becomes my fave Elton song from 2000 to 2021. o_O
- 2000: I'm obsessed with Nicholas Lea and I finally get my hands on one of his many hard-to-find movies - "The raffle". The soundtrack is nice. Another fan sends me a ripped CD of it. "Heartache all over the world" is one of the nice songs. :)
- Elton: *plays 39458735 gigs in sweden over the decades without my noticing* D:
- The best movie I see in 2003 is "Sliding doors". :D One of the lines in it happens to be "I didn't know you liked Elton John". Not liking Elton is kind of a strange, novel notion to me. *frowns through monocle* Not a fan of "Honky cat" specifically, but what I've heard of Elton just kind of sounds universally likable in general, you know? :p Anyway, these are just thoughts in the back of my mind and not the subject of any fat dissertation.
- At some point, "Are you ready for love" is a hit on radio stations that I listen to (unlike approximately ALL OTHER ELTON SONGS EVER :C ), and I like it and collect it.
- Relatively recently, but probably a handful of years ago, I consider going to some Elton show or other. I do sometimes see artists I have barely listened to, just because they're huge / interesting and I may become a fan later and... But, no. Maybe I'm a poor student or something.
- 2019, presumably: I scroll by a sponsored trailer for "Rocketman" on Insta, but IIRC, I don't stop to watch it all the way through.
- 2021 (or possibly December 31, 2020): "Rocketman" is on Netflix (which I started using late in life) and I add it to my long-ass watchlist.
- June 14, 2021: Well, what to watch on Netflix today? It's Monday, so nothing super-special. The stuff I really look forward to gets saved for Saturdays. But, eh, let's get "Rocketman" out of the way then. Probably just gonna be another normal biopic about someone I'm very mildly interested in. But I tend to find bios interesting whether I'm obsessed with the person or not. :) And a music movie is fitting, as it is my first fave artist Gianna Nannini's 65th b-day! :D (Alas, it's also Trump's 75th. D: ) HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I'M OBSESSED WITH DATES. Eh.
- Me: "Oh shit... It's... a... musical?! *cringe*" It's OK though. I cringe at all musicals, then end up loving a shitload of them. o_O
- The movie is OK. *shrug* The funniest line is "All right, don't break your neck sucking your own cock." HEEEEEEHAAAAAAW. I need to start using that line. :B Now, speaking of USING and LINES...
- ... I didn't know he had done so much coke and booze. I suppose my early impression of Elton was one of cozy wholesomeness, as I was mostly exposed to him through a certain children's movie (WHICH WAS NOT ACTUALLY WHOLESOME, UH, DON'T GET ME STARTED) and the slow-dancin' "Love songs", with it's simple, rustic cover photo. :) Now he's been clean for 32 years. YAY!
- I hadn't known that Bernie existed. Bernie is kind of relevant. BERNIE!
- With several of the songs I go "Hey, this sounds pretty good. I should check out more of his music." Many of those songs I had never heard before, and some were half forgotten.
- I instantly love the "Saturday night's alright" scene! xD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! "But the movie will only be on Netflix until July 13. I gotta watch that scene 10000 times before then!" Which I proceed to do. Eh, I guess the sound is worse on Youtube.
- I'm horrible at checking out new artists. Choosing an album to start with is often hard. But on June 23, 2021, I listen to part of Elton's "The one" album.
a) The title track is my then-fave Elton song.
b) It's from the 90's, so it should be more or less accessible to my 90's-nostalgic ass.
And... now it's my fave Elton album. :O *diez* *is ded*
- On the same day, I ponder the idea of going to his gig in Horsens, Denmark in 2022. "And he's gonna play in Oslo soon, but that seems to be sold out..."
- I watch "Rocketman" a few more times and it grows on me and it ends up being... THE BEST NON-DOCU MOVIE I SAW IN 2021! :O
- July 2, 2021: I book a ticket for Elton's September 18 gig in Stockholm!
- July 8, 2021: I force my parents to watch "Rocketman".
My mum: "Ha! I know all of his songs." This wasn't true. Maybe she thought "Love songs" was his entire catalogue. :|
My mum: "He's gay?"
Me: "I... What? I was BORN knowing Elton is gay."
- I send my great Elton playlist to my parents and they listen to it a lot.
- The September 18 gig is postponed to October 2 because of corona.
- The October 2 gig is postponed until July 2023 (NOOOOOOOOOO!) because Elton got injured (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!)! D:
- Autumn 2021: I drown my sorrows in tickets for Oslo 2022 and Copenhagen 2023.
- Late 2021: I listen through most of Elton's albums systematically. One album every Saturday, just looking out the window while sipping a nice Monster drink. Apart from Flickr uploading sessions, it's the high point of the week. :) Then I listen to each album over the following days (while walking and whatnot) until I know which songs I want to save. When I run out of Elton albums (WAAAAAAAH!) I continue the habit with other artists I've been meaning to check out. :) Most of them have made fewer albums than Elton, so...
- Late 2021: I read Elton's autobiography "Me", which is funny. xD
- My mum decides to join me in Oslo. (Because of our late and separate bookings we don't get adjacent seats, of course, but at the actual gig I end up next to an empty seat (HOW?! WHY?!), and she grabs it.)
- Once upon a time, one of my fave podcasts made a live show which they were very proud of. One of the podcasters said (paraphrased) "I feel that if I get cancer now I will be less sad about it than I would have been before we did the show." That's kind of how I felt about getting to see an Elton gig. :D Getting cancer (or getting NUKED, which I had been anxious about in February and March) would be less bad post-gig than pre-gig. :)
- I book a second Stockholm 2023 gig at some point, TRYING AND FAILING TO MAKE UP FOR LOST ELTONTIEMZ.
- My mum becomes batshit about Elton, watches Youtube videos from the Oslo gig repeatedly, rewatches "Rocketman" twice (she almost never rewatches movies), books one of the Stockholm gigs, and proclaims that Elton is in fact her fave artist and that she's not sad about failing to get Bruce tickets because she's no longer into Bruce as he is "too noisy". xD (Elton is only my 3rd fave, after Nine Inch Nails and Robbie Williams. :B But Elton has the best voice out of those 3...)

PS. On 21-Nov-2022 (i.e. exactly 6 months after it was taken :D ), this photo was chosen as the cover photo of the group "Color My World Daily (RED DAY on Monday)"! :)
Properly digitised. Exposed quite soon after sensitiser application - enhanced brown look. If I left it to dry longer but then humidified it I think it would look slightly more like a silver gelatin print.
This was from a negative exposed for scanning not argyrotype but there's plenty of density. At some point I'll do a comparison of scenes shot as doubles to see what exactly the differences are when processed as argyrotypes in the same way.

"Peterborough Cathedral, properly the Cathedral Church of St Peter, St Paul and St Andrew – also known as Saint Peter's Cathedral in the United Kingdom – is the seat of the Anglican Bishop of Peterborough, dedicated to Saint Peter, Saint Paul and Saint Andrew, whose statues look down from the three high gables of the famous West Front. Although it was founded in the Anglo-Saxon period, its architecture is mainly Norman, following a rebuilding in the 12th century. With Durham and Ely cathedrals, it is one of the most important 12th-century buildings in England to have remained largely intact, despite extensions and restoration.
Peterborough Cathedral is known for its imposing Early English Gothic West Front (façade) which, with its three enormous arches, is without architectural precedent and with no direct successor. The appearance is slightly asymmetrical, as one of the two towers that rise from behind the façade was never completed (the tower on the right as one faces the building), but this is only visible from a distance.
Peterborough is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, England, with a population of 202,110 in 2017. Historically part of Northamptonshire, it is 76 miles (122 km) north of London, on the River Nene which flows into the North Sea 30 miles (48 km) to the north-east. The railway station is an important stop on the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh. The city is also 70 miles (110 km) east of Birmingham, 38 miles (61 km) east of Leicester, 81 miles (130 km) south of Kingston upon Hull and 65 miles (105 km) west of Norwich.
The local topography is flat, and in some places the land lies below sea level, for example in parts of the Fens to the east of Peterborough. Human settlement in the area began before the Bronze Age, as can be seen at the Flag Fen archaeological site to the east of the current city centre, also with evidence of Roman occupation. The Anglo-Saxon period saw the establishment of a monastery, Medeshamstede, which later became Peterborough Cathedral.
The population grew rapidly after the railways arrived in the 19th century, and Peterborough became an industrial centre, particularly known for its brick manufacture. After the Second World War, growth was limited until designation as a New Town in the 1960s. Housing and population are expanding and a £1 billion regeneration of the city centre and immediately surrounding area is under way. Industrial employment has fallen since then, a significant proportion of new jobs being in financial services and distribution." - info from Wikipedia.

Not managed to dress properly for a couple of months now. Saw this top on a bargain rail last week and had to have it. This morning was the first time to try it on properly. Thought it looked ok and was worth sharing.
If I recorded this properly when I took the shot it is a 1929 Packard. I loved everything about the car and wished I could have driven it right out of the Museum! The little door was said to be for golf bag, shoes, etc., however, I thought it was JUST RIGHT for a tripod and camera gear!

Well, you've gotta have one of these to properly address shiny, speedy riddles. I've called it "The Rat" because I think it actually looks like a rat sniffing the trail... which kinda fits the whole idea.
–
The Bionicle windscreen provides a generous cockpit which is quickly and easily accessible and fits Batman in normal driving position (I didn't try it, but I think he can even wear the cape without trashing it). I've built most of this one a while back, even before the rat rods I've posted lately, and the "nose" solution (please note, I'm not the first to use it) also provided me with the idea for the prongs of my Falke.
I absolutely love how the canopy turned out - combined with the armored wheels, I think it gives an almost aircraft feel to the whole. Having this developed and work on the Falke makes me think now of a classic shaped Batwing :)

As always, the awesome copper and silver chromed parts come from Auri's store.
I'll be posting more shots of this beautiful, golden brown jumping spider in the days to come, but I think this shot is my favorite. Exact species unknown - see this album if you with to help with the ID. I'm often amazed at how the colors of these spiders match their surroundings. Spotted at the Montreal Botanical Garden.

My husband knows how to treat a girl properly 💑 yesterday he brought home a beautiful traditional shiny new spade. I just ❤ the feel of the wood and the shape of the handle. The matching hoe and fork will be arriving next week.
I shall be using it to plant up our veggie plot - nothing is better than working outside in the fresh air and (hopefully) sunshine.
I dropped by Smash Palace - properly known as Horopito Motors - on my way back from Auckland last week. Researching for a car club trip I'm planning with a mate. I thought I'd be there for ten minutes... 90 mins later I walked out relaxed after a quiet walk around the extensive wrecking yard in the sunshine, mud, and sheepshit.
Smash Palace features in the movie of the same name, as well as the original Goodbye Pork Pie, classics of NZ cinema. Also seen on TV in the reality tv show Smashed Palace, it's a remarkable place, with rare parts and old cars through to more modern stuff, sprawled out in the landscape near Mt Ruapehu (closest town is Ohakune), in the central North Island of New Zealand.
If you're visiting NZ and like old cars, it's a worthwhile stop during your tour. They're friendly and welcoming, and you're free to walk around and explore, after a donation to the trust. www.horopitomotors.co.nz

There are so many of these beautifully colored pools/geysers in Yellowstone National Park, and it's hard to get to see them all properly in the short time I had there. There are 30 in the Old Faithful complex alone. Each one is an individual, and gives it's own brilliant display.
Mother nature really has given us something to be impressed by.
The colors are natural, and as recorded by the camera, using only a polarising filter.
Taken on the first properly sunny day of 2022, it was cold but such a beautiful day, we couldn't resist going to the woods. Barney had a nice time sniffing trees & prancing past other dogs (despite being 15 & still a bit unsteady on his paws, Barney likes to show off when we pass dogs - he perks his ears up as much as he can & swishes his tail high & struts past them on his tippy-toes!).
You may be able to make out that I had him on an extendable lead when I took this.... Barney has quickly gone from not walking at all without a lot of help, to now being able to, well, not quite out-run me but he can out-trot me. Barney has always been extremely enthusiastic - to the point of being somewhat reckless, when it comes to tackling physical challenges. I am grateful for his attitude, I am sure Barn's eagerness & lack of fear is a big part of what helped him relearn how to walk at such an old age (the most optimistic vet said he might be able to potter about in the garden - Barney can walk a couple of miles!!). However, that wild streak also means that I don't trust the old boy not to overestimate how well he can now jump or climb (he can't do much at all of either!!). I have visions of Barney deciding there's a really promising smell just on the other side of a ditch & then going for a tumble, so he's back on a lead!
Leashed or not, Barney is happy to be back out for walkies. He took me further than I planned - I thought we'd walk through the woods (not far) & then back the same way. Barney had other ideas. We got to the end of the path & Barney wouldn't turn around - he just kept marching, taking a long, winding route home, via the country lanes. I think I was more tired than him, when we got back ;) The past 3 days running, he's yelled at me until I've caved & let him come on the "big walk" with little brother Flynn. I keep asking him if he wouldn't prefer to stay in the warm at home... nope, Barney wants out!!
This is the first real run of screen printing my tents. I think they look good but I may have to redo the stitching screen, it has a few messed up lines where the emulsion didnt get removed properly.
Feedback appreciated.

My version of the venerable C-130 Hercule. It is 62 studs long by 78 studs wide. Inspired by Kurt's MOCs amazing Hercs, Brickmania's AC-130 Gunship and BigPlanes (for the motorisation), it is my first attempt ever at motorising one of my MoCs. I ran the four engines for 12 hours at speed 4 using a custom battery pack (2 Li-On batteries) and a standard Power Functions train motor. The IR sensor is concealed in the cockpit, between the two crew members (ok, it is just their heads!) but allows for a clear line of sight with the remote. The modified battery pack helps to keep the plane from tipping on its tail. I used 3 Light my Bricks bit lights for the nav lights, but I will refine this system and add a few more lights in the future. The nose can be replaced with a black one (I actually find that it looks better in black), but the grey version seems to be the norm nowadays in the USAF. In the video, you may notice that the right spinners are offset a little. When I properly calibrate the gears though, they all run straight and smooth. The rear cargo and side crew doors are the only other two functional aspects. 100% custom stickers, as usual.

This image might seem strange, and indeed it is. To see it properly, dig out your pair of red/cyan anaglyph glasses! It’s a stereoscopic 3D image – and if you bought a copy of my book Macro Photography, you likely have a pair of the required glasses. :)
Alternatively, you can see the image by other means:
SBS (for VR headsets and stereoscopes): donkom.ca/stereo/mantis-sunflower-sbs.jpg
Cross-view for crossing your eyes (my preferred method): donkom.ca/stereo/mantis-sunflower-crossview.jpg
MPO file if you’re still somehow still using a 3DTV: donkom.ca/stereo/mantis-sunflower-3DTV.mpo
I have always loved 3D imagery, and I encourage more photographers to experiment with it. Mantis oothecas (egg casings) I found in the winter have provided us with countless mantis nymphs, and these little guys are a wonderful subject to photograph in 3D. The image is staged with two sunflower petals and a water droplet where they intersect, with a sunflower refracting in the droplet and a mantis staring into the “crystal ball”.
I share this fun image as a small celebration, of sorts. Ukraine (and Moldova!) has been granted “candidate” status by the European Commission. This is a critical first step in joining the European Union, and creates a roadmap for the reforms and changes required to join. Judicial reform, anti-corruption and money laundering reforms, etc. all need to be implemented. Some reforms have already been passed recently, including the Istanbul Convention which aims to prevent violence against women. It signifies a path forward for Ukraine.
Is the symbolism a bit of a stretch to say that a mantis peering “through the looking glass” to the bright sunflower on the other side matches this moment? Probably. Still, it’s a moment I wanted to revel in. The war rages on, and the sadness and despair only grows deeper – but moments of hope are critical, and while this isn’t a victory on the battlefield, it’s still a wonderful step forward.
The image was shot with a long-discontinued deWijs stereo macro lens, essentially two sets of optics in the same barrel, with one half of the camera sensor collecting the image for each eye. StereoPhoto Maker is free software that allows for the combining of the images in various ways and properly setting the “stereo window”, ensuring that there is proper overlap of the image data for each eye. You don’t need a special lens to shoot 3D, however! You can easily mount your camera on a focusing rail sideways, so that the camera moves left and right rather than forward/backward. This technique is more applicable to static subjects and maybe not a living insect, and I’ll aim to shoot an image using this technique soon as well to illustrate the difference. As human beings we see the world with depth, it’s something we can embrace more as visual artists.
Our fight for Ukraine continues. I’m inquiring about potential discounts on solar generators to ship to the front lines, as well as much-needed medical supplies. It’s painful to know that all-out war has been continuing for four months. Crimea was annexed eight years, four months and four days ago. This will not be over until Ukraine is whole again.
As with other images in the Support for Ukraine series, I dedicate this image to the Public Domain.
(and for those wondering why the image is very green: That’s a feature, not a bug. The sunflower in the background doesn't need depth information which would create dazzling distractions. It was forced to be green. It’s still better than a monochrome anaglyph in this case, because a vibrant flower needs to have SOME colour!)
I have not been on flickr properly for a long while sharing pictures (apart from some re-boots) and I suspect some will have lost patience with me.
But over the past few days the dust has settled on family life and I can indulge Jane for a few hours. I started the evening in a red polka dot dress. The photos are OK but I decided that I had picked badly and after a quick photo I changed into something else. But first the red number

Finally, here are all my 86 Licca dolls (with 4 more on the way) displayed by date of arrival, from oldest to newest (2005 - 2011), all dressed in simple white Licca Castle dresses. They range from basic playline dolls to Licca Castle dolls, Licca Club 67 replica Liccas and other Limited Editions.
My collection started after seeing pictures of Licca online and falling in love with her sweet and adorable face back in autumn 2004. I then bought my first Licca on February 5 2005, the tan-skinned and black-haired Licca of Southern Island, a Limited Edition of 5000, and still one of my faves today. She's the Licca of Bali since that is the island the name is referring to (South of Japan = Bali). She will always be special to me.
Though quite a few of them have joined my dolly family since those early days, my love for Licca is still going strong and hasn't waned a bit! She remains my favourite doll. Even if it does feel like I've already thoroughly spoiled myself by having so many, I also can't help but want to add more of them. There's always, always that "one more wishlist Licca" waiting around the corner, so my wishlist keeps growing. Is that bad? Have I reached the limit already? Right now my wishlist has more than 40 Liccas on it!

SISTER's of PERPETUAL INDULGENCE's 35th Annual HUNKY JESUS & FOXY MARY fun....The best thing about the Sister's show were the Marijuana 4/20 folks who incorrectly wandered into the Sister's party space...They were like "OMG, This is like , OZ, man."
Yes, it was.
Probably because it was the Sister's 35th Anniversary and it was an homage to the Wizard of Oz. The lawn in front of the stage was filled with red-paper poppies. There were several 'Cowardly Lions", many "Glenda the Good Witch", a couple of 'Bad Witches" including one on a bike...a very young 6-year old Judy Garland passing out Giradelli Chocolate, an awesome Scarecrow of indeterminate sex, a few Tin Men (and one obviously Tin Woman), and even a couple of 'munchkins'...yes, real little people. Though, ADDA DADA is happy to report that there were no Flying Monkeys.

We went in the evening when Prague Castle was closed except you could still walk around the outside, but then we went again to tour the place properly...
These are properly unusual in Europe, and I'd never heard of them before I spotted the orange saloon earlier in my photostream. They all seem to be painted in vibrant bright colours! These were one of the first mass produced four wheel drive passenger cars.
Right after taking this photo, the owner came up to me from across the street and asked why I was taking a photo of his car. I explained my interest and then went on my way. It seems old cars don't have much interest in Greece! I think these are rather interesting, but the owner obviously didn't catch on! This one dates from between 1972 and 1981.
