believe it or not, there is not much editing here... all i did is adjust the contrast, which served to intensify the colors a bit. no other editing, however.

I was at the Zoo enjoying the amazing variety of God's creatures when it started raining with no cover in sight. I got pretty well soaked, but it made it all worth it when I looked up and saw this rainbow, a reminder of His promise. Genesis 9:13

This tattoo was done on July 26, 2011 three days before the 7 year anniversary of my mother's death. I included the lyrics from "Closer to the Edge" by 30STM as two promises for me to keep to myself. The first is to never forget my mother or my father (deceased 14 years) and make sure they live on in my heart. The second is to open up to life more and start doing things that I want to do today instead of waiting for tomorrow. The two red roses represent my parents as that is what I was given to place on each of their caskets. The girl represents me coming to terms with their deaths and losing my child like innocence.
Right well, I'v been ill for the past week and a half or so, and therefore not at school. This is my highly productive afternoon's work... now to write an essay.

Dunya will perform music of Arabic, Persian and Turkish traditions, accompanied by belly dancer, Natalie. Bellydance is a social dance performed by women across the Middle East at wedding and other social getherings - the Arabic version of Veilidh dancing. Natalie learned Egyptian belly dance at the University's African & Arabic Dance Society and now performs regularly at two city restaurants and many other special events. bellydance.eusa.ed.ac.uk
