Chérie is wearing 'Springtime Promise'
This one is a lot more chunky compared to the other flower crowns. In retrospect someone with a bigger head & hair perhaps should of modelled such a big crown but I do love little Chérie in these colours :)
Getting by without a Macro lens, I've simply put a +4 filter on a 50mm Nikon lens, and I'm really impressed by the sharpness and clarity

The Promised Land
Now here I stand
Oh, in the morning sunshine,
Dreaming only of the promised land.
Somewhere, they say, beyond the great horizon,
Lies a beautiful island.
Everyone says he longs at heart for Shangri-La,
But that it's a nowhere-land, after all.
How I wonder why no one tries to sail out,
Looking for a strange paradise.
In my dreams, I've seen people there,
Exchanging words of love and care.
In the bright sunbeams, they're dancing with the birds
And they're singing all day long beside the streams.
One day, someday,
You'll surely find me sailing away
For the white beach of the promised land.
Now here we stand
Oh, in the burning sunset,
Talking only of the promised land.
I'm glad to know now I am not the only one--
I've got nice friends who share dreams with me.
We are so young; we've got some magic powers.
We are nourishing like flowers.
Oh, let us wait until the day comes when we will all
Sail across the deeper blue sea.
In our dreams, we've seen people there,
Exchanging words of love and care.
In the bright sunbeams, they're dancing with the birds
And they're singing all day long beside the streams.
One day, someday,
You'll surely find us sailing away
For the white beach of the promised land.

“When I first came to Leeds, I didn’t realise what this city would mean to me. It taught me how to be independent. I laughed, I cried. I broke up, I fell in love. It taught me about life. Nobody says it will be easy; they just promise it will be worth it.”

believe it or not, there is not much editing here... all i did is adjust the contrast, which served to intensify the colors a bit. no other editing, however.
Lovers of sophisticated pop, intriguing melody and all things French will be delighted to hear that So Frenchy So Chic artists Émilie Simon and Mélanie Pain will be gracing the Rosemount Hotel on Sunday, October 3.
This double-header promises to showcase both artists’ effervescent, engaging and offbeat take on contemporary pop, as both Émilie and Mélanie take to the stage with their gallic backing ensembles.
Émilie Simon, the art...ist who makes every song an adventure, will be showcasing her third album, The Big Machine, which was written and recorded after she moved to New York. The breathtaking result is a collection of rich and sensual songs featuring musicians like Kelly Pratt and Jeremy Gara of Arcade Fire, as well as Beirut’s John Natchez. Inventive and charming, as she always is, The Big Machine is Simon’s most accessible and personal record to date.
If Mélanie Pain were to sing the phone book, she’d make it sexy purely on conviction. Best known as the lead singer of the French band Nouvelle Vague, Pain seduced audiences with her breathy renditions of '80s pop. Her romantically-tinged solo album, My Name, draws on influences such as Nick Cave, Harry Nilsson and Leonard Cohen, but audiences will also hear Pain’s love for American folk and pop intertwined with chanson. Pain's first album is practically a beginner's guide to contemporary French pop, according to Rave Magazine.
This beautifully matched double-header tour promises an intimate evening from two brilliant and well-travelled singer songwriters who have featured on one of Australia's most popular compilations. The groundbreaking So Frenchy So Chic series has sold over 100,000 copies in Australia, proof of this country's love for interesting and intelligent French music.
Local support from songstress Géraldine and her sexy, sophisticated take on folk and french pop.
Kicking back to the smooth sounds of this fabulous French femme is the perfect way to chill out and enjoy yourself. Géraldine plays a great mix of covers as well as original compositions – some classy, some quirky, some English, some French – all of them good listening.

I've been wanting to make some bulletin boards for a while now... and this is my first attempt.
It's my entry for the Singer/Craft Magazine "Sewing with Nature" contest.
The board is made entirely with natural fabrics -- lots of luscious linen plus some cotton and linen/cotton blends. All sewing was done on the machine.
The board includes organic elements -- dried leaves are sewn decoratively on it. And I made two leaf magnets with dried leaves, Tyvek plastic, and machine sewing, they were then glued to a magnet.
The handmade patchwork cover is stretched over a magnetized corkboard -- so both magnets and push pins can be used to add notes. There are 4 pockets -- 3 sized for pens and pencils and one larger (that I used for more organic elements -- dried plants).
The fabric is primarily gorgeous natural linen, with patchwork made with extraordinary fabrics from designers including Cicada Studios and Martha Negley. These are some of my favorite fabrics in my "stash."
The board is titled, "Promise of Spring." The colors and textures are meant to give the feel of late winter when there's just a touch of green giving you the promise of spring through winter's bleak (but beautiful) landscape.
I had forgotten that i promised the Schlager's that i would give them the pictures i took of Erika at the final tournament of the season. In fact, i just received a couple orders from Norlanco parents-that was the only thing that reminded me of this. I thought i put these images behind me, but i guess i still have to edit a few of them before i put them in one of the archive hard drives (or in other words, the pit that never sees light of day)

I had promised a few of my foreign friends to make a trip to famous "Å". "Å i Lofoten" is one of the most popular places to go to when visiting Norway. Perhaps only the "fjords" of Western Norway and the North Cape are as famous (and popular) as the small fishermen villages in Lofoten. Places like "Nusfjord" (Flakstad), Henningsvær (Vågan) and Reine, Hamnøy and Å (Moskenes) are filled up with tourists during the Summer months. The tourist season is over now and even if the weather was quite bad I hope the pictures can give a certain impression of how it is to live far north - as we do.
Julia Gillard, the Australian Prime Minister, promised her own version of a "cash for Clunkers" policy for the 2010 election.
"I want to help Australians to update their motor vehicles. Australians own a lot of old motor cars, and those cars guzzle a lot of petrol and they spew out a lot of pollution". Julia Gillard announced this cash for clunkers election policy on 24 July 2010.
Since the cars have got older, pollution continues and Julia Gillard has increased the tax burden on Australian so they cannot afford to buy new vehicles.
Another broken promise by Juliar.

I love these tri-color roses!
My poor roses had a rough time of it last year: Insect infestations like crazy; disease they had not previously succumbed to; weather that beat them up. So they're getting extra-special treatment early now -- they have begun to show new growth, so they have been carefully pruned, given plenty of water, fed, and sprayed for insects and disease.
Hopefully this year they will rebound and produce bountiful blooms, 'cause shooting these rascals makes me feel good, and I hope you enjoy the results, too. (And truthfully I have almost as much fun growing them and tending to them as I do photograping them!)
