GRAFFITI ALL STARS # 14

This started out as a tortured tee shirt I had laying around for quite some time. I cut it into thin strips and sewed the ends to a strip of extra jersey left over from the sleeves. Then I braided the strips and sewed up the other end with another sleeve. Then I put my hair up in a loose bun and tied the headband below the bun and tucked the ends under. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out but I think I will keep experimenting until I perfect it. Maybe next time I'll use a hot pink shirt!

We were assigned to redesign last year's Fine Arts Festival poster based on our lesson on hierarchy. I used only two types for the poster. I retained the idea of the banderitas and added orange to make the feel a bit more playful and happy. I used color visual cues to emphasize the event per day and I isolated the dates to one side and varied its size as well. I wanted to incorporate the idea of "art" by representing each course under the FA program, but I couldn't quite place it properly without the poster being too messy. :))

Photometry is the science of light and candela is the unit for luminous intensity. With this in mind, the newly re-opened Candela Project Gallery is the latest bright spot in Munich’s cultural landscape.

It's been a gorgeous day. At lunchtime I walked down to the waterfront and saw this sailing ship in front of the cruise ship.

Photos taken for work of the Project STAGE Festival, a two-day event for the five Turnaround Arts schools in Des Moines. On day one, each school presented a musical on stage at Hoyt Sherman Place with an impressive array of costumes and sets for middle and elementary school students.

Ok ..Wasn't the last ! i went into town and walked down this street art scene lane , i was taking a few photo's when Jo cycled past , he turned around on his way to work as a postie !

He came up to me and said i did this scenes , there were many of them !?! I looked bankley at him , and said what , he doesnt actually look like your usual spray artist !?

He does art , sells in local shops as well as doing his post round. They are all done legally with the permission from the council plus this scene was for the local childen walking to the local primary school... Hence Pepper Pig , those amongst us with children , may know of it , I sadly do not !! He was really proud of what he does but also very laid back. Thanks Jo ( he soad Jo - no E !) ...Jo it is !!

#307 of 365 Daily Drawings

Inspiration: Barcelona

Result: Day 1

Materials: Pentel 0.3 HB, Sakura Micron 005 & Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils in a Stillman & Birn Zeta series sketchbook

Location: apartment in Barcelona

Note: The next 23 drawings are reflections of my trip to Spain, Dublin and Scotland. It's a combination sketchbook / journal. Not all of the pages contain writing ....those are yet to be filled in because while I did make a point of doing a drawing every day I really didn't have time to also fill in the blanks with words...those are to come. I just needed to get these posted so I could get my daily drawings back on track. :)

Today was a nothing day! :D I got to sit at home all day and watch youtube videos while eating publix pina colada lowfat frozen yogurt. The picture is of mom's garden she's worked on all summer on our back porch. We had fresh pizzas made from her tomatoes, basil, oregeno, and she bought organic buffalo mozzerella and whole grain thin crust. I swear it's the best pizza I have ever tasted. :P I had a hard time picking out what shoes to wear so I chose my mom's yellow sneakers. So retro. Now I get to stay up late for the SNL Re-run!

never too old for hand painting project

This is one of my favorite spreads from my Sketchbook Project.

First, I freehanded the patterned background with a Sharpie. Scanned a ballpoint pen sketch, enlarged it, printed, and then glued it into the sketchbook. From there I was able to use my acrylics to work the final magic.

To see some of my work in progress and the cover to the sketchbook, check out my blog:

This outfit is a modified "Myra" jumpsuit by Violette Field Threads. I narrowed and shortened the legs, added a wide cuff, piped the armholes and keyhole, and narrowed and shortened the neck tie. Its made of hot pink denim, with just a little stretch. On the back are mismatched, oversized white buttons. She has a coordinating hair bow. Whenever I sew for my kids, my goal is that they will actually want to wear the clothes, and that the clothes will hold up to regular, everyday use. She loves this, and played for a long time in it, doing lots of jumping, "because its a jumpsuit!"

Patio / Deck project that we did in the 2 months prior to my daughters wedding.

Never got to finish some of my reviews (mostly my fault) but I didn't want to leave these pictures unreleased.

So here is the image gallery from the Project Mc2 Wave 3 Bryden review that never happened. Enjoy.

I had to pop out from work for an hour and while I was out I drove passed this field of rapeseed. When I first passed it the sky was clear blue but there was nowhere to park. I knew there was a layby on the other side of the road so stopped on the wayback, a few clouds had rolled in but I still wanted the shot. Taken in panorama mode with the Oly XZ-1.

M175 ~ 35000 years ago, Genographic Project

The Eden Project is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, located 2 km (1.2 mi) from the town of St Blazey and 5 km (3 mi) from the larger town of St Austell, Cornwall.

The complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining omes that house thousands of plant species, and each enclosure emulates a natural biome. The biomes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The largest of the two biomes simulates a Rainforest environment and the second, a Mediterranean environment. The attraction also has an outside botanical garden which is home to many plants and wildlife native to Cornwall and the UK in general; it also has many plants that provide an important and interesting backstory, for example, those with a prehistoric heritage.
