First in a series of marginal poems

Najong! My name is Chung Vue but everyone alls me Becky. I am seven years old and I have been an In Progress artist for whole year now. I live in Saint Paul with my big family. My mom, my aunt and my little brother are my favorites!

I like to play outside with my friends. Many of my friends are also my family. Cousins, brothers, sisters – we all get along, fight sometimes, play together, share with each other, and help each when we need it. Sometimes my little brother can be mean. Even so, I like him – because family is everything to me.

I like to create photographs. It lets my imagination fly! Right now I am making a video about playing. My friend Bao and my sister Cindy are in the movie with me. It’s going to be a great movie.

I like being a part of In Progress because someday I want to be an artist and In Progress is teaching me how to do that. I’m pretty lucky!

There's about 4 years in between these two. I definitely got better at anatomy, don't you think?

The red-clad woman sketch is, I think -omg!shame!- my beginning attempts at fashion sketches, and the two hot futuristic babes are a sketch I did for a CG drawing. There are things wrong with their necks and the girl on the left has a weird thing going on with her leg, but overall, I was pretty satisfied.

I've been asked quite often why I use flashlight and I've been advised not to use it.

With this little experiment I want to show you WHY I use it. This photo was taken with flashlight.

Although the amaryllis casts a shadow I find the colours much more natural - like I saw the flower on my shelf in front of the white wall. Apart from the lack of any colour fog it is very crisp and clear.
