Relentless NASS 2010

more photos i forgot to upload

Built in 1838 as a temporary lodging for Great Lakes Indians. Not very successful, it closed in 1847. From 1867 to 1961 is was used as the schoolhouse for Mackinac Island.

It may not look like it, but this is my husband smiling...a rare capture on film so I decided it would be the perfect picture to draw for his Christmas present. I am making good progress on this picture. One of his eyes is off a bit...driving me crazy trying to figure out how to make it right. It happens every time...one eye doesn't want to cooperate. And shading on the arms is not good yet...plus not finished with the black shirts. But it's getting there!

I can't tell you how difficult it was to trim down the number of shots to post! These are the ones that give you the best progress through the demolition.

My Wisteria (Kate Gilbert) in progress, Cascade 220.

This will be the front porch, to be enclosed as an entryway. Front steps on the lower level.

the beginning of a new subdivision in Marana

hooray the walls are back up, and the ceiling is in! the room still needs to be plastered, but i will wait until i can do all the rooms at the same time. the hardwood floor has taken a bit longer than expected to put down, but it will be worth it. this will probably be the last photo of the kitchen for a while as i start working on the bathroom soon.

I had pizza boxes lying out to kill off the grass here (they actually helped quite a bit!) Here's my progress on garden thus far. I'm going to rip out the grass up to the wooden table that's on the left (just barely in the frame). I'll also be moving around a lot of the shrubs I bought.

Close up of the inside of my first box. Sorry the quality of these pictures is bad..

Pattern: Cedar Dancing Sock, from Cat Bordhi's New Pathways for Sock Knitters

Needles: US 1.5 (2.5mm) DPNs for body of sock; US 1 (2.25mm) circular for freaky-deaky cast-on.

Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock Mediumweight, color Count Cluckula (somebody has entirely too much fun naming these).

The right side of the house....with the wrong stone on!!!

Some progress today, starting to really look like a cosmo. Still have a little ways to go.

The shop vac masquerading as a kitchen appliance ... the stove will go there soon.

This makes up really fast. It was so easy to learn.
