hooray the walls are back up, and the ceiling is in! the room still needs to be plastered, but i will wait until i can do all the rooms at the same time. the hardwood floor has taken a bit longer than expected to put down, but it will be worth it. this will probably be the last photo of the kitchen for a while as i start working on the bathroom soon.

I had pizza boxes lying out to kill off the grass here (they actually helped quite a bit!) Here's my progress on garden thus far. I'm going to rip out the grass up to the wooden table that's on the left (just barely in the frame). I'll also be moving around a lot of the shrubs I bought.

The little forest at the end of my dead-end street is making way for a parking lot thanks to Gatineau's new rapid transit. I'm sad; this is where I get most of my mushroom shots. :-(

Hand raking sand is a slow, laborious project. However, when the Gary Parks Department realized there was no other way to curb the debris piling up along the shoreline, they decided to take on the challenge. (cred: taken on June 22, 2018 by Claude Power III)

The client has been under the needle several times ,and has several settings to go ,but here is our progress......

Progress photos of my second faceup attempt, on my Loongsoul Meiji, Natsumi.

So I got a studio space at a new place in Ypsi called Spur Studios. If you're an artist or band that needs a space in the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti area, check them out at spurstudios.org.

Here's a few progress shots of what I have so far. As of right now I ripped out the carpet and painted the walls. Just have to finish painting the molding and then install the wood floor. Fun stuff.

Billsburg Brewery progress - spring 2017

Another fine old house being torn down to make room for a new one.

This house was big, beautiful and well-kept. Its misfortune was being on an extra big lot where people can build a really big huge house (8-10K sqft) like the one several lots away which likely won't be the top dog of conspicuous consumption for long.

At least with this house they're salvaging the slate roof and other reusable parts instead of dumping everything in the landfill for convenience.

Having made a couple of unsuccessful dives, Dave excitedly bobs to the surface to report that he can see (with the help of this trusty Winnie the Pooh waterproof flashlight) the ring sitting on the branch of an underwater plant!! He draws a deep breath and makes another dive. Seconds later, he rockets to the surface tightly clutching the ring....."my preciouuussssss".....

Blogged here.

The ever-popular (Sir) Terry Pratchett OBE makes a welcome return to the stage at Progress Theatre, in another wonderful adaptation by Stephen Briggs. If you like your comic fantasy turned up to the maximum you will be delighted with this show. The many people who loved our production of Maskerade will be delighted to see the return of those memorable characters, Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg, in this tale of witches and royalty, loosely based on Macbeth. Very loosely.

The ambitious wife of Duke Felmet persuades him to murder his cousin, King Verence I of Lancre. An escaping servant gives the King's crown and child to three witches. They hand the child to a troupe of travelling actors and hide the crown in the props-box. So destiny can take its course and the child can one take his rightful place as king, right? Well things are never simple with these witches.

People have travelled from far afield to see our previous productions of Pratchett's Discworld works, so book early to avoid disappointment.
