So.... the allotment is 10 metres by 10 metres. Over the course of five days, four hours per day, I've cleared approx 2 metres by 7 metres. At this rate.....
Oh I give up. On maths, not the allotment. Most of the other allotmenteers say just keep plugging away. Others recommend weedkiller.

Past few weekends and a handful of evenings after work has the south facing side of the house just about wrapped up. Got all the old decking in this run torn off too late in the day so all day tomorrow I'm just cutting deck and screwing it down. Deck material is Red Cedar, which is about the same price as PT so I figured... why not? Plus it looks "just so".

I am making progress on flowerbeds, and I have several varieties of sedum planted, with many more cuttings in the process of rooting. Hopefully my yard will be a butterfly and bee haven by summer. Raspberries will be going in in the area to the left, and a couple of other shrubs (eith goji berry or haskaps) going in the other areas. The rest will be planted with annuals once we get past frosts. Photographed in my yard in Chadron, Nebraska on April 15, 2017.
