Pagani Huayra BC in Monza

Earlier this week, I headed to London to meet with a surgeon who will be undertaking my GRS.

She confirmed that she is happy to operate on me and that the surgery will be in March / April 2022. Yes, NEXT YEAR!!

This is BIG!

If I'm honest, I'm petrified about the surgery and not looking forward to it, nor the recovery, but I realise I have to go through with it to get the results I want.

Let the countdown commence...

Waiting for my Littlefee Reni, I'm working on her wardrobe ... ^^

... in my studio. In the centre of the frame is a watering can of which I am adding mosaic art. Once the letters (which are applied in reverse) are glued to the watering can, water is applied to the paper backing to reveal blue tiles, in the form of my best friend's name, Trevor and his partner, Sean. It will be part of their wedding present in September if all goes well with the project.

The art form of mosaicing is called the indirect method. It takes a bit more concentration than the direct method of tiling, but it's also great fun.

Well, I made some progress today. Tweeking the design as I go, naturally! I tried paper piecing, but didn't like all the bulk I was getting from the seams, so it will be fused, raw edge applique. Thinking I might swap out those three pale geese, though - waddaya think?

Only the center block is fully quilted here. Just a progress shot to show the whole top.

Glad that I don't live in this place any more

All blocks back and sewn together. Now for a border. One block left over for the backing or maybe a cushion.

I decided I cut away all of the procreate and just repaint the head, this happened literally 5 minutes from when this was uploaded. Tell me what you think! Comments more appreciated than faves!

Queen/Lansdowne area.

Tried some really odd settings for this one with a high f-stop. Sometimes when making a stylized photo i find the softer look helps make an almost retro look.

Hope everyone has a good Thursday. Thanks for stopping by and for all of your kind comments.

Progress on interior. All the wallpaper is done except for a really cute cupcake border I need to add to the bakery (lower left room), but I need to do ceiling trim first. The flooring paper isn't glued in yet. Next will be window and door trim, ceiling trim, etc.

I'm going to back off from my projects for a couple weeks because my sister is coming!! We are planning a couple of "craft days" though : ) : )

Peter had a go at photographing an illuminated tram, at night and in black & white, luckily however he chose "Progress" as his subject, a rare tram indeed.

Progress took to the rails in 1937, the design was changed over the years, it was never the same two seasons running. Designs included a large clock, a town crier, a large reproduction of the tower and as seen here an elaborate crown was added in 1953 to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The tram was withdrawn in 1958.
