I took this of a sleeping gorilla at Animal Kingdom; he looked so peaceful; amongst the hundreds and thousands of people that peer and poke and prod at him at all hours of the day.

Snowball fight defensive wall

My progress so far on the coats! I am really loving them and they are fun to make. I went out and got a lot more felt today, so tomorrow I'll be sewing up a bunch more and listing the first batch either in the shop or on PP.

After a steady diet of Evapo-Rust and Naval Jelly the bed is finally showing some progress.

This cross stitch pattern is going to take awhile. One stitch at a time . . .

A Century of Progress - The 1933 World's Fair Homes

Over 85 years of wind, sand, and surf have battered the five World's Fair houses located along Lake Front Drive in Beverly Shores, but their uniqueness has weathered the elements. With the theme of a Century of Progress, the houses were built for the 1933 Chicago World's Fair to demonstrate modern architectural design, experimental materials, and new technologies such as central air conditioning and dishwashers.

Four of the houses were brought to the dunes by barge in 1935 by real estate developer Robert Bartlett. The Cypress Log Cabin was dismantled at the fair and moved by truck. Bartlett hoped that the high profile houses would entice buyers to his new resort community of Beverly Shores. Today the houses are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the houses have been leased by the non-profit organization Indiana Landmarks. Through this organization, private individuals or families have leased the homes and are rehabilitating them. Please respect these agreements by not trespassing on the properties.

Here's a little collage I put together showing the progress of the needler. People liked the bolt pistol progress shots so much I thought people would like to see how this one came together as well!

The girl in the foreground has made a lot of progress on her starts over the year our family has been part of The Claremont Cub swim team. A year ago she could barely lean forward into the pool from a sitting position on the deck.. Now she is able to make a dive off the block. She has an extreme phobia and has been able to work past it to do a dive off the blocks.

A new development under construction behind my home. I'm losing an open view but gaining a nice new wall..

Henry's checking on my progress.

Slowly but surely progress is being made. Reaching and stretching over the shafts is painful so I have to take frequent breaks while threading. I have found that listening to a good audio book helps keep my mind of the pain and my behind on the bench.

The wall of silk has changed... My wife loves having this curtain of colorful silks as a partition into her sewing area, looks like I'll have to keep going even after the art show. Here on the far right is the scarf that was shown tied up in previous images. It still needs to get a hair conditioning bath and an ironing.
