ESCP Europe Business School launched its new Bachelor in Management (BSc) programme at its London campus with a special welcome for both students and families.
The Class of 2018 - 47 undergraduates from 16 nationalities - gathered with parents and siblings to hear from the Dean, Prof. Dr. Frank Bournois, who shared the School’s vision and philosophy, and heralded the start of the programme at the School’s London Campus.
Over three years, Bachelor students at ESCP Europe will travel to three of the School’s European campuses. After spending their first year in London, they will move to either Madrid or Turin. Finally, the full class will reunite for a final year at the Berlin campus.
The Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Andreas Kaplan, a graduate of the School himself and originator of the programme, impressed upon the group that this was the beginning of a unique journey for them – and one for which they had been very carefully selected.
Prof. Dr. Simon Mercado, Director of ESCP Europe’s London campus, welcomed the students to London and into a wider community of learners at the city’s campus. This includes about 500 students studying Master programmes in Business Management, European Business, Energy Management, Creativity Marketing and Business Administration (MBA).
Finally, Peter Globokar, Managing Director of Mooreland Partners and an alumnus of the School, was introduced as the Mentor for the BSc. He attributed his success with Mooreland, an international technology-focused M&A and fundraising advisory, to the entrepreneurial spirit and international experience he gained at ESCP Europe.
As the welcome speeches ended, the guests were officially welcomed to London in the most British way possible: an afternoon cream tea.

The programme offers not only management subjects, but also a full programme of liberal arts and humanities. Find out more: escpeurope.eu/bachelor
Why does tfl need a separate logo for its investment programme? And why did they pick such a shit one? I tell you, gradients and toplighting in logos has already jumped the shark, and doing it in a combination of red, white and blue is just making things worse.

Due to the effect of El Nino driven shortage of rainfall, Tigray Region has been affected by severe shortage of drinking water for both people and livestock. The effect was manifested through declining of groundwater levels, drying of water wells and increased malfunctioning of water supply schemes. The main water supply sources for domestic consumption is groundwater source, which is subject to fluctuation of rainfall. ©UNICEF Ethiopia/2016/Zerihun Sewunet
Title page from the theatre programme for a production of "The Rebel Maid" at the Hippodrome Theatre, Keighley, staged by Keighley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society in October 1922.
Keighley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society's production of "The Rebel Maid" played at the Hippodrome Theatre in Keighley for six nights (and a Saturday matinee) from Monday 9th October 1922. The romantic light opera was written by Alexander M. Thompson, with lyrics by Gerald Dalton and music by Montague F. Phillips. Dalton and Phillips had actually created the opera while serving in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve during the First World War. The musical director was Joseph Harker, while the producer and stage director was Avalon Collard.
The story is set in the autumn of 1688 and centres around the rebellion against the Stuart dynasty, in the form of King James II, led by Prince William of Orange (played by George Best). The action takes place in the mansion of Lord Milverton (played by Edward Greenwood) on the coast of Devon, the local inn 'The Jolly Fishers' and the village green. Amongst the plots and counter-plots is a romance between Derek Lanscombe (Watson Walker) and Lady Mary Trefusis (Edith Robson), who's secret identity is 'Snow Bunting' a.k.a. the Rebel Maid. The production also starred Tom Coates, Ernest Marsden, Frank Shuttleworth, Alan Petty, Sydney Calvert, Mrs Percy Taylor, Mabel Rothera, Hilda Smith, Kitty Connolly and Edith Smith.
The 44-page programme was printed by The Keighley Printers Ltd. of High Street, Keighley. It measures approximately 255 mm by 193 mm (although the internal pages are slightly smaller than the cover). The programme was part of an anonymous donation given in 2022.
A selection of photos from the European Lawyers Programme graduation ceremony.
The European Law School network was established in 2006 by its three founding members (King’s College London, Humboldt University and Université Panthéon-Assas, Paris 2) in order to establish and develop the European Lawyer programme (the ‘Juriste Européen’). University of Rome La Sapienza (Rome, Italy) and the University of Amsterdam (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) have subsequently become members of the prestigious programme.
Students pursue undergraduate studies at their home institution for three years and follow that by spending a year each at two of the three partner universities, obtaining a Masters degree at each. During their fourth and fifth years, students concentrate on specialist subject areas.

A Falkirk programme from the club's time at Brockville, now a Morrisons supermarket. The Bairns issued this 24-pager (50p) for an April 1989 visit by Raith Rovers. Falkirk won 4-0 at Scottish League First Division encounter in front of 2,932 spectators.
When I returned to Falkirk, some years later, to visit the club's new stadium, I called in at the Brockville Morrisons. It contained numerous displays of historical images depicting the football club and its players. Good to see the past wasn't forgotten!
