I recently discovered that drawing my dying cat is not the hardest thing to do, rather comforting because I can have even more special and strong connection with him through drawing him.

This portrait was accidentally deleted from my sktchy app que but was still on my ipad so i tried to sketch it like 3 or 4 times and it just didn't come out right so i tried it again last night. ... until I decided to simplify the doodle and make the person out of the "2" and help it to read a little easier.
Happy May!! Here's this month's art from my Sugar Skulls 2015 Calendar. I created it digitally using the Procreate iPad app for the skull and surrounding details, and added the background rays in Photoshop.

From life / observation / skype
I think these were all 5 minutes or less...
Done over skype from California, USA to Oxford, UK at the Julia Kay's Portrait Party meet up.
Working that fast, it sometimes veers towards caricature, sorry for the overly long noses, etc.
The computer at the Oxford end was at a level that everyone leaned over to peer down at me and I felt I had the view of a baby in a carriage being oohed over... which was a different point of view!
