This egg shows balance because usually the egg wont stand by itself but right now the image is balancing.
The Energy Academy is designed to meet a number of broad ecological building principles and guidelines. It boasts an agreeable indoor climate with natural ventilation of the many work stations and large rooms. It uses a minimal amount of drinking water and uses rainwater to flush toilets, etc. Its walls and windows are highly insulated to minimize energy consumption and the building is heated by the local straw-based district heating plant. A small thermal solar system delivers the hot water and is designed to facilitate exhibition purposes.
All electric appliances are A-class energy savers, the electric lighting is low energy and the windows are positioned to maximize the passive solar energy contribution. Electricity is supplied by a battery of PV solar cells, supplemented by Samsø grid electricity, which for the most part is delivered by the island wind turbines.

The Journal asked writers and illustrators to contribute a series based on design icon Dieter Rams’ Ten Principles of Good Design manifesto. Each writer wrote on one of Rams’ principles; each illustrator reacted to a writer’s essay. This is the fifth illustration from the ten-part series.
Duane King wrote on Rams’ fifth principle, Good design is unobtrusive. Mr King is the author of the upcoming book The Grid System and of Co-Founder of Thinking for a Living. Damien Correll created the above illustration based on Mr King’s essay. Mr Correll is a designer and co-founder of the studio Part & Parcel. His work has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, IdN and Juxtapose.

The Epic Seascape! Malibu Sea Caves!
Landscape photography is not only about traveling through space, but it is also about traveling through time. One may return to the same beach time and again throughout the seasons to find a million different universes, changing in an infinitude of manners with each passing wave.
Not only do we voyage outwardly to get the shot, but we travel even further inwardly. While I spend my year trekking along the John Muir Trail, and on through Zion, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, and the Colorado Plateau, my heart always finds its home in these Malibu sea caves, where I have stood in awe during all hours of the day and night.
Included within are a few shots that only I have so far captured, including a miraculous winter solstice sunrise.

Via its simple principle of a fourth expanding dimension, LTD Theory provides a unifying, foundational *physical* model underlying relativity, quantum mechanics, time and all its arrows and asymmetries, and the second law of thermodynamics. The detailed diagrams demonstrate that the great mysteries of quantum mechanical nonlocality, entanglement, and probability naturally arise from the very same principle that fosters relativity alongside light's constant velocity, the equivalence of mass and energy, and time dilation.

I'm experimenting with upsizing some Nikon D800, D800E, & D810 HDR photographs to the 8288 x 5520 or 8256 x 5504 resolution of the Nikon D850! The Pixel dimensions of the Nikon D810 are 7360 × 4912 pixels. The D810's pixel width of 7360 pixels is about 90% of the D850's pixel width of 8256 pixels. Thus, at 90%, it would be hard to tell the difference between photos taken with the two Nikons, except in the very largest prints perhaps! The D810 has 36.3 megapixels or 36 megapixels, while the D850 has 45.7 megapixels, or 46 megapixels.

During the mixer at the 2011 Safety Standdown USA seminar, Bombardier launches it's internal SSD Ambasssador program, designed to promote the principles of SSD worldwide.
The principles of design that I used for this photo are unity, represented by the two oranges. Pattern, represented by the blueberries on the belt and movement represented by the belt itself with the flow of the blueberries. For the elements of art I used texture with the oranges, shape with the blueberries and line with the belt buckles
The principles of design that are represented in this photo are contrast, movement, and balance. Movement is implied by the power lines leading your eye to the main focal point. Balance is represented by both sides of the image being very similar and the focal point being centered. Contrast is prensent by the sky being light and the power lines being black. To create this image I drove to Illinois and specifically sought out these power lines at this time of day. In Photoshop, I edited out a tree that was blocking the side of the image and I rotated it very slightly. I also used curves to lighten it up a bit and saturation to get the colors to pop. I like how I had to drive 3 hours away and get this shot at this time of day. If I could change anything, I would try to angle the shot up a bit more and get it a bit later in the sunset.
