Yesterday, I saw that I was not a member of a Flickr group anymore. In short, "kicked-out". I didn't break any rules neither posted anything obscene. I think I have HQ photos (pm me if I don't have). I actually supported this group that from time to time I award photos in their photo pool. I feel a bit bad because I don't know the "why" I was out of the group. I was thinking maybe my work are not good enough? Of course I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but doing such act to members reduces motivation, as well as inspiration specially to those who are still learning the art.
Anyway, I took the "higher path" - the path of understanding the admin / admins. If they feel they are gods that they can choose who they want to be part of their group then be it. They don't deserve respect and support at least from me. The fact that I have high regard for their group. Maybe they forgot they were newbies once...
I am thankful that most of the groups I support are not like this group. They are groups that nurture creativity, talent and friendships... And I see beauty in their photo pools. They showcase talents from professional and amateur Flickr users. They create a dynamic "melting pot" of people all over the world from different cultures and walks of life. They give chances to newbies like me to upgrade our game and learn from their works.
Ok, enough said... JUST SHARING MY THOUGHTS 😍 I guess my real life work in community inclusion and diversity just took a bit of me today 😇 thus writing what I observe and feel about this.

Kongsten Fort is situated 500 metres east of The Old Town.
The fortress was constructed according to the ancient Italian principles of fortification, with high bastions, hornworks, and redans that would provide protection from invading armies. Military strategists understood that, if captured, the small hill would provide an enemy with a raised platform for their artillery, greatly increasing the range of canon shot.
There is an interesting Japanese philosophy called MA. Its basic premise is that the space between things is an important factor in composition and mostly goes unnoticed by the photographer, but that space holds meaning. It’s not emptiness because it is ripe with potential. It should be used deliberately and add value to a photo. The same principles hold true in music.
Secondly I used silence to allow the spaces to develop without intrusion.
And I used a Meyerowicz rule; “leave the center empty and make the viewer read around your photo.”

i look at this and think positive and negative charge and see the hand as the conductor. the back story is that smiley guy was grumpy a lot that day, perfecting his pouty lips, and his older brother was totally upbeat. just caught a moment when they switched protons and electrons.

With so much uncertainty in the world, it was a privilege to capture such amazing talent and beauty.

The Four principles of Spirituality are...
The First Principle states:
"Whomsoever you encounter is the right one"
This means that no one comes into our life by chance. Everyone who is around us, anyone with whom we interact, represents something, whether to teach us something or to help us improve a current situation.
The Second Principle states:
"Whatever happened is the only thing that could have happened"
Nothing, absolutely nothing of that which we experienced could have been any other way. Not even in the least important detail. There is no "If only I had done that differently, then it would have been different". No. What happened is the only thing that could have taken place and must have taken place for us to learn our lesson in order to move forward. Every single situation in life which we encounter is absolutely perfect, even when it defies our understanding and our ego.
The Third Principle states:
"Each moment in which something begins is the right moment"
Everything begins at exactly the right moment, neither earlier nor later. When we are ready for it, for that something new in our life, it is there, ready to begin.
The Fourth Principle states:
"What is over, is over"
It is that simple. When something in our life ends, it helps our evolution. That is why, enriched by the recent experience, it is better to let go and move on.
If these words strike a chord, it's because you meet the requirements and understand that not one single snowflake falls accidentally in the wrong place!
Be good to yourself.
Love with your whole being.
Always be happy
Love like there's no tomorrow.

One of the principles of the Ion Mystical World is "The Incremental Metamorphosis Or Spiritual Transfiguration Of Reality".
Spiritual evolution does not normally take place due to large immediate changes, it requires learning, small increments that with the time factor and the preservation can change us spiritually.
An inner transformation or metamorphosis that in addition to transforming us ends up transforming those around us through our interactions. This network of interactions and transformations does not only change those with whom we interact but also with time, the World or Reality that surrounds us, multiplying, increasing real and lasting change with repercussions in time and thus also in the Future.
Like the caterpillar that turns into a butterfly but needs to feed, we also need knowledge and learning to strengthen our spirit and learning about ourselves, only then we can understand ourselves and understand better the others.
When the butterfly frees itself it interacts with its world, pollinating, reproducing itself or feeding other living beings, strange as it seems a single butterfly does not seem to make a difference but if it did not exist the repercussions would be huge in the natural world by the multiplier of their interaction and influence.
So we all have an important role in transforming this World and we must not give it up, as we will be giving up the future!

A Evolução espiritual não se dá normalmente por grandes transformações imediatas, necessita de aprendizagem, pequenos incrementos que com o factor tempo e a preserverança podem mudar-nos espiritualmente.
Uma transformação ou metamorfose interior que para além de nos transformar acaba por transformar os que nos rodeiam através das nossas interações. Esta rede de interações e transformações não mudam só aqueles com quem interagimos mas também com o tempo o Mundo ou a Realidade que nos rodeia multiplicando , incrementando uma mudança real e duradoira com repercussões no tempo e assim também no Futuro.
Tal como a lagarta que se transforma em borboleta mas precisa de se alimentar, também nós precisamos de conhecimento e aprendizagem para fortalecer o nosso espirito e a aprendizagem sobe nós proprios, só assim podemos compreender e entender também melhor os outros.
Quando a borboleta se liberta ela interage com o seu mundo, polinizando, reproduzindo-se ou alimentando outros seres vivos, por estranho que pareça uma só borboleta parece não fazer a diferença mas se ela não existisse as repercussões seriam enormes no Mundo natural pelo factor multiplicador da sua interação e influencia.
Todos temos então um papel importante de transformação neste mundo e não devemos abdicar dele, pois estaremos a abdicar do Futuro !

Anyone who has spent some time photographing wildlife soon discovers a couple of basic principles. One, unless you are in a blind set up in a rich wildlife environment, the amount of time that it takes to get superior photos is longer than most people will endure.
Secondly, when a bird or animal comes into view, a complicating factor is you only have seconds to compose a shot before it quickly departs.
There is a hidden world on both sides of that junction. This fawn, probably less than two months old, has already gone through some stunning developments. An attentive parent, usually the mother, teaches the fawn many safety skills.
Though not a skill per se, those white spots on this fawn are not just adorable but serve as a sophisticated camouflage that breaks up the fawn’s outline in a sun-filtered wooded area. Following their mother’s training to stand or lie motionless, they become nearly invisible to predators. For more complimentary protection, fawns are born nearly scentless and remain so for a few weeks. This makes them roughly undetectable to predators who rely on a sense of smell.
Unlike many newborn animals, fawns are born with their eyes open and can stand up within a few hours. Remarkably, at this fawn’s age, they can run faster than the fastest human, as they can reach speeds of up to 30 mph.
Sometimes, people hiking in the woods or grasslands find a fawn that appears abandoned. It lies quietly alone. But this is deliberate. Mothers habitually leave their fawns alone for hours and come back only to nurse or move their young ones to another area. They instinctively recognize their presence is likely to draw unwelcome predators to their young one.
All these things and more happen in a private world seldom seen by humans. The skill developments and the relatively quick time frame for them are simply wondrous.

Tom Engelhardt:: Who Really Has Blood On Their Hands?
"Consider the following statement offered by Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at a news conference last week. He was discussing Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks as well as the person who has taken responsibility for the vast, still ongoing Afghan War document dump at that site. "Mr. Assange,” Mullen commented, “can say whatever he likes about the greater good he thinks he and his source are doing, but the truth is they might already have on their hands the blood of some young soldier or that of an Afghan family.”
Now, if you were the proverbial fair-minded visitor from Mars (who in school civics texts of my childhood always seemed to land on Main Street, U.S.A., to survey the wonders of our American system), you might be a bit taken aback by Mullen’s statement. After all, one of the revelations in the trove of leaked documents Assange put online had to do with how much blood from innocent Afghan civilians was already on American hands.
The British Guardian was one of three publications given early access to the leaked archive, and it began its main article this way: “A huge cache of secret U.S. military files today provides a devastating portrait of the failing war in Afghanistan, revealing how coalition forces have killed hundreds of civilians in unreported incidents. They range from the shootings of individual innocents to the often massive loss of life from air strikes...” Or as the paper added in a piece headlined “Secret CIA paramilitaries’ role in civilian deaths”: “Behind the military jargon, the war logs are littered with accounts of civilian tragedies.
The 144 entries in the logs recording some of these so-called ‘blue on white’ events, cover a wide spectrum of day-by-day assaults on Afghans, with hundreds of casualties.” Or as it also reported, when exploring documents related to Task Force 373, an “undisclosed ‘black’ unit” of U.S. special operations forces focused on assassinating Taliban and al-Qaeda “senior officials”: “The logs reveal that TF 373 has also killed civilian men, women, and children and even Afghan police officers who have strayed into its path.”
Admittedly, the events recorded in the Wikileaks archive took place between 2004 and the end of 2009, and so don’t cover the last six months of the Obama administration’s across-the-board surge in Afghanistan. Then again, Admiral Mullen became chairman of the Joint Chiefs in October 2007, and so has been at the helm of the American war machine for more than two of the years in question.
He was, for example, chairman in July 2008, when an American plane or planes took out an Afghan bridal party -- 70 to 90 strong and made up mostly of women -- on a road near the Pakistani border. They were "escorting the bride to meet her groom as local tradition dictates." The bride, whose name we don’t know, died, as did at least 27 other members of the party, including children. Mullen was similarly chairman in August 2008 when a memorial service for a tribal leader in the village of Azizabad in Afghanistan’s Herat Province was hit by repeated U.S. air strikes that killed at least 90 civilians, including perhaps 15 women and up to 60 children. Among the dead were 76 members of one extended family, headed by Reza Khan, a "wealthy businessman with construction and security contracts with the nearby American base at Shindand airport."
Mullen was still chairman in April 2009 when members of the family of Awal Khan, an Afghan army artillery commander on duty elsewhere, were killed in a U.S.-led raid in Khost province in eastern Afghanistan. Among them were his "schoolteacher wife, a 17-year-old daughter named Nadia, a 15-year-old son, Aimal, and his brother, employed by a government department.” Another daughter was wounded and the pregnant wife of Khan's cousin was shot five times in the abdomen.
Mullen remained chairman when, in November 2009, two relatives of Majidullah Qarar, the spokesman for the Minister of Agriculture, were shot down in cold blood in Ghazni City in a Special Operations night raid; as he was -- and here we move beyond the Wikileaks time frame -- when, in February 2010, U.S. Special Forces troops in helicopters struck a convoy of mini-buses, killing up to 27 civilians, including women and children; as he also was when, in that same month, in a special operations night raid, two pregnant women and a teenage girl, as well as a police officer and his brother, were shot to death in their home in a village near Gardez, the capital of Paktia province. After which, the soldiers reportedly dug the bullets out of the bodies, washed the wounds with alcohol, and tried to cover the incident up. The Afghan War Diary (also called The War Logs) is a collection of internal U.S. military logs of the War in Afghanistan published by Wikileaks on 25 July 2010.
The logs consist of 91,731 documents, covering the period between January 2004 and December 2009. Most of the documents were classified as "secret", which The New York Times called "a relatively low level of classification".
As of 28 July 2010, only 75,000 of the documents have been released to the public, a move which Wikileaks says is "part of a harm minimization process demanded by [the] source". Prior to releasing the initial 75,000 documents, Wikileaks made the logs available to The Guardian, The New York Times and Der Spiegel in its German and English on-line edition which published reports per previous agreement on that same day, July 25, 2010."

"One surprising consequence of the war in Iraq is the surrender of postmodernism to a victorious modernism. This has been largely overlooked in North America.
In reaction to the U.S. intervention in Iraq, Jacques Derrida, a famous postmodernist, signed on as co-author of an article drafted by the German philosopher Jürgen Habermas, previously an opponent of his, in an unmistakable endorsement of modernist Enlightenment principles. Derrida, the apostle of deconstructionism, is now advocating some decidedly constructive and Eurocentric activism.
The article appeared simultaneously in two newspapers on May 31, in German in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as "After the War: The Rebirth of Europe," and in French in Libération, less triumphantly, as "A Plea for a Common Foreign Policy: The demonstrations of Feb. 15 against the war in Iraq designed a new European public space."
Other famous intellectuals joined in with supportive newspaper articles of their own: Umberto Eco (of The Name of the Rose) and Gianni Vattimo in Italy and an American philosopher, Richard Rorty. This provoked much discussion in Europe, but only a few comments so far in North America, the Boston Globe and the Village Voice being rare exceptions.
This week in Montreal, there was an anti-globalization riot in which windows were broken in protest against a World Trade Organization (WTO) meeting. But the Habermas-Derrida declaration praises the WTO and even the International Monetary Fund as part of Weltinnenpolitik: maddeningly hard to translate, but something like "global domestic policy" or "external internal policy."
Yet it is not much of a stretch to claim the young anti-globalists as disciples of postmodernism and Derrida, who has hitherto been a foe of "logocentrism" (putting reason at the centre), "phallologocentrism" (reason is an erect male organ and, as such, damnably central) and Eurocentrism (the old, old West is the homeland of all of the above).
Derrida added a note to the article, observing most people would recognize Habermas's style and thinking in the piece, and that he hadn't had time to write a separate piece. But notwithstanding his "past confrontations" with Habermas (Derrida had objected to being called a "Judaistic mystic," for one thing), he agreed with the article he had signed, which calls for new European responsibilities "beyond all Eurocentrism" and the strengthening of international law and international institutions."

Behind the Virgin a green curtain has been drawn back to reveal the view through another door into a dining room, where a table, stool, and bench are arranged in front of a staircase leading up past an open window. An elaborate bronze grill is shown unlocked, with a key in its open gate. It provides symbolic as well as visual access to an area paved with inlaid marble slabs in front of an altar set up against the exterior wall of the house. Beyond this sanctified area is a deep, colonnaded portico, at the end of which is a door surmounted by an escutcheon supported by two winged putti that leads to an arbour and a closed gate. The walled garden (the 'hortus conclusus') to the left of the colonnade is surrounded by the arbour and contains cyprus trees (symbols of the Virgin), a well (the 'fons hortorum'), a thatched structure of some sort, and peacocks (symbols of immortality).
The coat of arms of Jacques Coeur (c. 1395-1456), the wealthy merchant and finance minister of Charles VII are prominently displayed in the tympanum of the door behind the Virgin, indicating that the painting was commissioned by Jacques Coeur who had a special devotion to the Annunciation: the subject is depicted in a magnificent stained-glass window illuminating his family chapel in Bourges Cathedral.
It is in the domestication of the religious theme and the fastidious attention given to the architecture that Fra Carnevale reveals his authorship. Also characteristic of Fra Carnevale is the system of perspective which is based on the same principles as that found in his Annunciation in Washington.
This famous fresco depicting the ladies of the court from the Palace of Knossos can be found at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, a museum located in Heraklion on Crete. It is one of the greatest museums in Greece and the best in the world for Minoan art, as it contains the most notable and complete collection of artifacts of the Minoan civilization of Crete. Crete is Greece's largest island and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean.
The highly sophisticated Minoans which were Europe's first great civilization built the Palace of Knossos, the legendary home of King Minos which is connected with thrilling legends, such as the myth of the Labyrinth, with the Minotaur and the story of Daidalos and Ikaros.
The museum began in 1883 as a simple collection of antiquities. A dedicated building was constructed from 1904 to 1912 at the instigation of two Cretan archaeologists, Iosif Hatzidakis and Stefanos Xanthoudidis. After three destructive earthquakes in 1926, 1930, and 1935, the museum nearly collapsed. The director of the Heraklion Museum was then Spyridon Marinatos, who made great efforts to find funds and persuade the locals and the central government alike that a new solid building was needed. In 1935, Marinatos succeeded in engaging Patroklos Karantinos to build a sturdy structure that has withstood both natural disasters and the bombing that accompanied the German invasion in 1941. Although the museum was damaged during World War II, the collection survived intact and again became accessible to the public in 1952. A new wing was added in 1964.
The Herakleion Archaeological Museum is one of the largest and most important museums in Greece, and among the most important museums in Europe. It houses representative artifacts from all the periods of Cretan prehistory and history, covering a chronological span of over 5,500 years from the Neolithic period to Roman times. The singularly important Minoan collection contains unique examples of Minoan art, many of them true masterpieces.
The Herakleion Museum is rightly considered as the museum of Minoan culture par excellence worldwide. The museum, located in the town centre, was built between 1937 and 1940 by architect Patroklos Karantinos on a site previously occupied by the Roman Catholic monastery of Saint-Francis which was destroyed by earthquake in 1856. The museum's antiseismic building is an important example of modernist architecture and was awarded a Bauhaus commendation. Karantinos applied the principles of modern architecture to the specific needs of a museum by providing good lighting from the skylights above and along the top of the walls, and facilitating the easy flow of large groups of people. He also anticipated future extensions to the museum. The colours and construction materials, such as the veined polychrome marbles, recall certain Minoan wall-paintings which imitate marble revetment. The two-storeyed building has large exhibition spaces, laboratories, a drawing room, a library, offices and a special department, the so-called Scientific Collection, where numerous finds are stored and studied. The museum shop, run by the Archaeological Receipts Fund, sells museum copies, books, postcards and slides. There is also a cafe.
The Herakleion Archaeological Museum is a Special Regional Service of the Ministry of Culture and its purpose is to acquire, safeguard, conserve, record, study, publish, display and promote Cretan artefacts from the Prehistoric to the Late Roman periods. The museum organizes temporary exhibitions in Greece and abroad, collaborates with scientific and scholarly institutions, and houses a variety of cultural events.

Crete (Greek: Κρήτη, Kríti ['kriti]; Ancient Greek: Κρήτη, Krḗtē) is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands, the fifth-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, and one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece.The capital and the largest city of Crete is Heraklion. It forms a significant part of the economy and cultural heritage of Greece while retaining its own local cultural traits (such as its own poetry, and music). Crete was once the center of the Minoan civilization (c. 2700–1420 BC), which is currently regarded as the earliest recorded civilization in Europe.
The island is first referred to as Kaptara in texts from the Syrian city of Mari dating from the 18th century BC, repeated later in Neo-Assyrian records and the Bible (Caphtor). It was also known in ancient Egyptian as Keftiu, strongly suggesting some form similar to both was the Minoan name for the island.
The current name of Crete is thought to be first attested in Mycenaean Greek texts written in Linear B, through the words ke-re-te (*Krētes; later Greek: Κρῆτες, plural of Κρής),[4] and ke-re-si-jo (*Krēsijos; later Greek: Κρήσιος), "Cretan". In Ancient Greek, the name Crete (Κρήτη) first appears in Homer's Odyssey.[8] Its etymology is unknown. One speculative proposal derives it from a hypothetical Luvian word *kursatta (cf. kursawar "island", kursattar "cutting, sliver").[9] In Latin, it became Creta.
The original Arabic name of Crete was Iqrīṭiš (Arabic: اقريطش < (της) Κρήτης), but after the Emirate of Crete's establishment of its new capital at ربض الخندقRabḍ al-Ḫandaq (modern Iraklion), both the city and the island became known as Χάνδαξ (Khandhax) or Χάνδακας (Khandhakas), which gave Latin and Venetian Candia, from which French Candie and English Candy or Candia. Under Ottoman rule, in Ottoman Turkish, Crete was called Girit (كريت).
