“The principles of true art is not to portray, but to evoke.” – Jerzy Kosinski

Yesterday, I saw that I was not a member of a Flickr group anymore. In short, "kicked-out". I didn't break any rules neither posted anything obscene. I think I have HQ photos (pm me if I don't have). I actually supported this group that from time to time I award photos in their photo pool. I feel a bit bad because I don't know the "why" I was out of the group. I was thinking maybe my work are not good enough? Of course I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but doing such act to members reduces motivation, as well as inspiration specially to those who are still learning the art.

Anyway, I took the "higher path" - the path of understanding the admin / admins. If they feel they are gods that they can choose who they want to be part of their group then be it. They don't deserve respect and support at least from me. The fact that I have high regard for their group. Maybe they forgot they were newbies once...

I am thankful that most of the groups I support are not like this group. They are groups that nurture creativity, talent and friendships... And I see beauty in their photo pools. They showcase talents from professional and amateur Flickr users. They create a dynamic "melting pot" of people all over the world from different cultures and walks of life. They give chances to newbies like me to upgrade our game and learn from their works.

Ok, enough said... JUST SHARING MY THOUGHTS 😍 I guess my real life work in community inclusion and diversity just took a bit of me today 😇 thus writing what I observe and feel about this.

Happy Wednesday y'all! We call Wednesdays "little Saturday" here in my place so enjoy 💕

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo❤️

When the company I worked for introduced Quality Assurance principles in 1988, as part of my role I taught the history and application of Quality Management techniques to my staff. I used to hold up Arnott's Biscuits as a leading example. All Aussies will know and love Arnott's wonderful biscuits.....until not all that long ago they used to deliver their products in sparkling red vans that were never dirty, always shining clean and personally I had never found an Arnott's Biscuit that I didn't like nor that was presented and opened without perfection. Now those to me at the time were some important hallmarks of TQM (Total Quality Management) that I thought were great examples for my students....exceeding customer's expectations, consistent quality of product.

I know many of you will have studied and applied this stuff in your professional and perhaps personal lives in recent times. This mural of an Arnott's advertising sign brought back those memories and I still love their biscuits (many made within a couple of kilometres from us in Brisbane, at times I can still smell their vanilla creams!) - although they are not so good for me health wise these days. Sadly in some ways, Arnotts was sold to Campbell's (soups) of the USA quite a few years ago, amid some controversy about selling off the farm and is now owned by American investment company KKR - see link below.

Today, they have modified their advertising to simply..."There is no substitute".

This is one of a number of old signs at Scotty's Garage.

The sanatorium was designed according to the modernist principles of 'het Nieuwe Bouwen' (new way of building) by Johannes (Jan) Duiker in collaboration with Bernard Bijvoet and engineer Wiebenga, an early specialist in concrete constructions. The main building and the Ter Meulen pavilion opened in 1928. The Dresselhuys pavilion was finished in 1931, De Koepel pavilion in 1934. There has been ongoing restauration since 1997 by Dutch architects Hubert-Jan Henket and Wessel de Jonge. The main building and workshops were restored in 2003. The exterior envelope of the Dresselhuys pavilion was restored in 2008. Further restoration stages are being planned. The surrounding site is being restored by landscape architect Bureau Alle HospeZonnestraal was built as a tuberculosis sanatorium in the 1920s and 1930s. The building features the classic design of the sanatorium, which focuses on as much open space and fresh air as possible. However, it still embodies the definition of the modern architecture by the immense amount of repetition and the avoidance of superfluous decoration. The building is mostly made of transparent materials to allow as much light as possible to enter the patients' rooms. With this transparency, the building runs a large risk of overheating. However, the architects understood these risks and incorporated a cooling system in the building; something that was not common at this point in time. The surfaces that are not transparent are very sterile and smooth in appearance making very hygienic surroundings. The buildings are arranged in a loose "pin-wheel" design that created separation between patients' rooms, giving each of them the adequate amount of sunlight needed for therapy. The distribution of space in this manner created the ability for every patient to have a sunbathing balcony that was unobstructed by any other patient's room or building. The design of this architecture can be referred to as Heliotherapeutic Architecture (Light therapy) and was actually a short lived style in its purpose for therapy because of the discovery of the cure for tuberculosis. However, this style focuses on the engineering required to satisfy the patient's needs. In fact, the architects preferred to refer to themselves as building engineers.[4] After abandonment in the 1980s the building was submitted to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. However, with this submittal, the building's structural deterioration could not be solved by demolition and rebuilding. Instead new techniques of concrete repair had to be used

This is currently playing in the UK, see www.brb.org.uk/whats-on/event/beauty-and-the-beast-2019.

A story of love, a prince transformed into a beast, and despite his ugliness, only by finding true love could the curse be broken.

Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête) is a fairy tale written by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, published in 1740 in La Jeune Américaine et les contes marins.

With so much uncertainty in the world, it was a privilege to capture such amazing talent and beauty.

Prayer cannot truly be taught by principles and seminars and symposiums. It has to be born out of a whole environment of felt need. If I say, "I ought to pray," I will soon run out of motivation and quit; the flesh is too strong. I have to be driven to pray. (Jim Cymbala)

i look at this and think positive and negative charge and see the hand as the conductor. the back story is that smiley guy was grumpy a lot that day, perfecting his pouty lips, and his older brother was totally upbeat. just caught a moment when they switched protons and electrons.

Took alot of effort to get a good one but worth it in the end. Loving the sunsets at the moment.

For those who have not seen my previous VAV picture , here is a brief description :

A Vav is a Gujarati word for step well. In ancient India, the step wells were constructed by the kings to counter the water problems in the semi arid regions of Gujarat and Rajasthan. These step wells provided water for drinking, washing and bathing. These are inverted temples where the topmost level/floor is at the ground level and then one goes down multiple levels below to the step well.

Back then the architects used the principles of rain water harvesting to keep the well functional and their knowledge to built such huge structures to withstand the impact of earthquakes.

This particular Vav called the Adalaj ki Vav is a stepwell located in Adalaj village near Ahemdabad and has 5 levels below the ground. It was built in 1498. The way these have been constructed, there is ample sunlight at each level ...

You can read more about Adalaj ki Vav here : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adalaj_Stepwell

Do you think modern world architects need to learn a thing or two from ancient architects ?? planning and respecting nature maybe ??

"There are necessarily two principles of beings; the one containing the series of beings organized, and finished, the other, of unordered and unfinished beings. That one which is susceptible of being expressed, by speech, and which can be explained, both embraces beings, and determines and organises the non-being.

For every time that it approaches the things of becoming, it orders them, and measures them, and makes them participate in the essence and form of the universal. On the contrary, the series of beings which escape speech and reason, injures ordered things and destroys those which aspire to essence and becoming; whenever it approaches them, it assimilates them to its own nature.

But since there are two principles of things of an opposite character, the one the principle of good, and the other the principle of evil, there are therefore also two reasons, the one of beneficent nature, the other of maleficent nature.

That is why the things that owe their existence to art, and also those which owe it to nature, must above all participate in these two principles; form and substance.

The form is the cause of essence; substance is the substrate which [it] receives the form. Neither can substance alone participate in form, by itself; nor can form by itself apply itself to substance; there must therefore exist another cause which moves the substance of things; and forms them. This cause is primary, as regards substance, and the most excellent of all."

A lot of great things has happened lately that i suddenly realized i haven't been shooting and posting here at flickr.

I am undergoing a certain kind of hibernation state that compels me to discipline my self and suspend everything else for the sake of some other tremendous things in anticipation. I know this is a difficult stage and somehow the only strength i have is the passion that empowers my will to carry on...

"To the pure finite spirit, Liberty is what it is to the wind and elements -- a power to obey the imperious laws of its nature; a power to act on conditions, emotions and desires would arise, and be preceded, followed, or co-exist with perceptions and judgments in a necessary succession, and with a rapidity which would preclude all comparison, consideration, and determination.

This power is liberty, and is the basis of responsibility. It is simple. The mind on the condition of a body learns the laws of its nature, its activity, their conditions and objects, and thus acquires a power over itself. This is Liberty. Hence there are degrees of liberty. Hence there may be minds that possess no more freedom than the brutes that perish."

Regarding the award-winning physicist Dr. Elliot McGucken at Princeton University, the late John Archibald Wheeler stated, "More intellectual curiosity, versatility and yen for physics than Elliot McGucken's I have never seen in any senior or graduate student. . . Originality, powerful motivation, and a can-do spirit make me think that McGucken is a top bet."

Dr. E would go on to heal the blind with his NSF-funded, award-winning Ph.D. dissertation which also laid down the foundations of Light Time Dimension Theory. Over the years, LTD Theory added foundational *physical* postulates, principles, and equations en route to becoming numerous books, with this one forming the simple, illustrated introduction.

#3 Real is Emotional

"Why does being real hurt so much?" asked Harper.

"I think humans feel the emotions of nature. It's kind of magical really. The willow weeps, but never sheds a tear, the hyena laughs, but never smiles and the dandelion carries hope yet knows of no tomorrow. Humans carry the weight of nature so nature can be beautiful."

"It is rather tiring Mr. Rabbit," announced Harper.

The Principles Of Change - Intrinsic Spiritual Recognition by Daniel Arrhakis (2018)

With the music : Overcome by James Paget

The Contemplative Recognition of our own existence as universal spiritual beings. The awareness of ourselves beyond the physical body, the timeless soul that illuminates matter and animated it with movement and transformation.

The awareness of the Intrinsic Spiritual Being that goes far beyond our own and unites all living beings in an equilibrium that is renewed and transformed in a timeless and universal way.

The consciousness of ourselves as spiritual beings is the beginning of an individual path of transformation and acquisition of knowledge to respond to our existential doubts and recognition of our role in the Universe.

A wonderful final of the week dear friends, thank you for your visit, kind comments and support, returning better but very late with you all ! So sorry once more !

________________________________________________

"It is not important whether you believe in spirituality or not, the four principles of spirituality apply to all from the moment one is born and will remain there till the end!

The Four principles of Spirituality are...

The First Principle states:

"Whomsoever you encounter is the right one"

This means that no one comes into our life by chance. Everyone who is around us, anyone with whom we interact, represents something, whether to teach us something or to help us improve a current situation.

The Second Principle states:

"Whatever happened is the only thing that could have happened"

Nothing, absolutely nothing of that which we experienced could have been any other way. Not even in the least important detail. There is no "If only I had done that differently, then it would have been different". No. What happened is the only thing that could have taken place and must have taken place for us to learn our lesson in order to move forward. Every single situation in life which we encounter is absolutely perfect, even when it defies our understanding and our ego.

The Third Principle states:

"Each moment in which something begins is the right moment"

Everything begins at exactly the right moment, neither earlier nor later. When we are ready for it, for that something new in our life, it is there, ready to begin.

The Fourth Principle states:

"What is over, is over"

It is that simple. When something in our life ends, it helps our evolution. That is why, enriched by the recent experience, it is better to let go and move on.

If these words strike a chord, it's because you meet the requirements and understand that not one single snowflake falls accidentally in the wrong place!

Be good to yourself.

Love with your whole being.

Always be happy

Love like there's no tomorrow.

And if tomorrow comes, well, Love again......"

The Principles of Disipline..

There is a famous quote in the Hare Krishna western culture that mostly the devotees back then were mainly hippies, especially the start of the movement between the 60s and 70s. The hippies shaved their head and kept themselves clean staying high by continuously chanting the Maha mantra (Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare) and observing the four regulative principles of no intoxication, no illicit sex, no gambling and no meat eating.

"Nature has no principles. She makes no distinction between good and evil." - Anatole France

It was the beginning of the 70's, Luis had absorbed the free life that Hipism idealized and he would not give up his principles. One day a letter arrived from one of the members of the intimate group. In it he not only told him that he was living in a place where life was in community and with a sense of solidarity that almost did not exist in the Argentina of the 70's (dictatorship, subversion, institutional and street violence). Peace was breathed there. There were also some photos, in winter, when the snow covered half of the door and others in summer where all the colors of nature had gathered, just for fun.

That wonderful place was and is called "El Bolsón" located in the province of Rio Negro. In our Argentine Patagonia.

Luis tried with all his will to reinsert himself in the consumerist and folkloric customs of the middle class, to which he belonged, but it was almost impossible. One day he was having a coffee with milk and croissants (typical of our city) and he saw Lucy come in. His heart began to beat so hard that he had to control it by putting his hand on his chest. (Lucy was a member of that select group) for years he didn't know more about her and there she was as beautiful as he remembered her. He did not hesitate for a second and approached her, it was in a bar in Boedo, it was getting dark and through the windows of the bar the rays of the sun were coming in, the sun was saying goodbye until the next day.

-Hello, Lucy, it's been a long time....

-My God, you are Luis, .... almost as if in a whisper, I get to name him.

In those old days of meetings they always talked about life and of course about The Beatles, but never, neither of them, dared to say what they really felt.

What was unspoken, what was contained, what was kept in that secret place in the heart, came out of her spontaneously, uncontainable, almost like a volcano erupting.

Luis looked at her, with a certain fascination, her face was almost a painting of romantic times, he thought that well, she could have lived in another life.

But it was an instant, more captivating if that was possible, that paralyzed him. He saw tears running down her beautiful cheeks. He could not contain himself in such a wonderful moment, witnessing such sensitivity. I think Luis knew the reason for his tears, he could perfectly understand what was causing it, even more he was envious of not being the one who could feel so many emotions, he never cried with emotion, there was always something he left aside, as if his feelings never had the strength to show themselves with full force.

His gaze was concentrated on those beautiful drops that by the hour made a prism to become a kind of rainbow, drops of colors, that can not be (he thought), he approached in full fascination for that woman who could experience such a wonderful feeling, being only half a meter away from her, he extended his hand and tried to grab one of those elusive tears, he thought that, if he could have it, he would also transmit some of that emotion to her.

-What are you doing? Lucy felt that they were invading her moment, or worse, that the intent was sexual than anything else.

Luis stepped back, invaded by an embarrassment that did not allow him to look at her, with his head down and whispering, he apologized, that he had no bad intentions, he just wanted to know if it was for real. She kept looking at him, she knew that none of what she had imagined was true in reality, at that precise moment she remembered that Luis was someone she could not be afraid of, on the contrary, he was someone she always felt she had to protect.

-Ok, what did you want to know?

-if they were really your technicolor drops?

- my drops, what? surprised, she asked.

-Your tears, they seemed to reflect all the colors, something too magical to be true, I wanted to corroborate it.

-Wow, Luis, you really are something special. Are my tears really colorful?

-I certainly saw them, although I wished I had one on my finger to confirm it.

-Let's sit down," said Lucy.

- Yes, I would love to," Luis replied.

Lucy asked him to describe exactly what he saw, she asked him expressly, after all, no one in his life had ever done or observed his inner world with such dedication.

-Ok, I'm listening.

-Luis was afraid of losing that moment where everything happened, was it possible to transfer to her so many sensations lived, his first attempt was to use the correct words.

- Well here I go, there are very few times that I have the opportunity to see with such closeness such beautiful sensations, I mean to see someone who is surprised to see me, which is not very common to happen to me. Well, that's what I thought, the surprise of seeing those tears fall so slowly, your eyes like a kaleidoscope, changed color, they looked like a crimson brown, a kind of center of the universe, that's what I was looking at, when I saw those fantastic drops wet and sprout, I could not, or I can not forget, a question I asked myself, what will it feel like to experience such a degree of emotion? and the more I thought about it, your tears became, I do not know how to explain it, I think the world stopped for those seconds, I saw them fall very slowly, as if they wanted to never die, my vocabulary is extremely useless at this moment, perhaps, thinking better now, if I had had a camera, I could have captured that magical and unique example that our mind is associated with everything beautiful in the universe is as if I had witnessed a miracle.

Lucy, could not assimilate so much capacity to understand, while Luis spoke her mind connected with him, as no one had been so sensitive to encompass so much, there was no way she could express it better knowing what in herself her mind and body experienced. That day and that special moment was what produced a kind of communion, beyond anything known, something where there was no limit, no way to describe it, it was the place for there to be no doubt that when two people connect, and she never felt it like that, they connect in soul and mind, like an imaginary thread that would bind them together for a long time.

-hola, Lucy, tanto tiempo,…

- Si me encantaría. respondió Luis.

The principles of metaphysical photography involve disturbing and puzzling elements.

#1: Real is Possible

"What is real?" asked Harper.

"It is who we were before other's opinions made us more like them," replied the rabbit.

"Can we become real again?"

"Yes, listen to your heart. It will tell you the truth and that will bring you back to real."

The new boat lift was opened in 1962 and has a trough length of 90 meters, a width of 12 meters, and a draft of 3 meters. It was capable of lifting vessels of up to 1350 tonnes. This lift utilizes the same construction principles as the old lift but using only two floats in two float chambers.

The new lift soon became too small for the navigation's requirements and a new ship lock allowing boats 190 meters long and 12 meters wide, allowing a 4 meter displaced depth was built next to the lift in 1989.

The new lift was taken out of use in December 2005 because of technical problems. The lift may not be repaired on the grounds of cost and the decreased usage of Dortmund Port. Problems or maintenance requirements on the modern lock would, without the lift, bring about the closure of Dortmund Port.

I love voyaging forth into nature to contemplate poetry, physics, the golden ratio, and the Tao te Ching! What's your favorite epic poetry reflecting epic landscapes? I recently finished a book titled Epic Poetry for Epic Landscape Photographers:

www.facebook.com/Epic-Poetry-for-Epic-Landscape-Photograp...

Did you know that John Muir, Thoreau, and Emerson all loved epic poetry and poets including Shakespeare, Milton, Homer, and Robert Burns?

I recently finished my fourth book on Light Time Dimension Theory, much of which was inspired by an autumn trip to Zion!

www.facebook.com/lightimedimensiontheory/

Via its simple principle of a fourth expanding dimension, LTD Theory provides a unifying, foundational *physical* model underlying relativity, quantum mechanics, time and all its arrows and asymmetries, and the second law of thermodynamics. The detailed diagrams demonstrate that the great mysteries of quantum mechanical nonlocality, entanglement, and probability naturally arise from the very same principle that fosters relativity alongside light's constant velocity, the equivalence of mass and energy, and time dilation.

After the side path of the Panhard I return to the streamlined car and pick up the story again at Tatra.

In 1933 Tatra presented their compact V570 prototype. It was developed by engineer Hans Ledwinka (Austria, 1878-1967) based on the ideas about streamlined cars by Paul Jaráy (Hungary, 1889-1974).

After Tatra had decided not to continue with the V570, Tatra encouraged their engineers to continue on the streamline car path. This resulted in the revolutionary T77 which was developed during 1933.

The Tatra T77 was first presented at the Prague Car Salon in March 1934. In the same month the T77 made its German public debut on the Berlin IAMA motor show. Here this futuristic car was admired by Führer Adolf Hitler. Already in Dec. 1933 he made some sketches of an streamlined rear-engined small car affordable for the common people. In the Tatra concept he found confirmation of his ideas and ordered Ferdinand Porsche to develop such an innovative car. We all know the outcome...

The Tatra T77 was based on the ideas about aerodynamics by designer and engineer Paul Jaray (Hungary, 1889-1974). Technical engineer was Hans Ledwinka (Austria, 1878-1967, also designer and engineer), while the body was designed by engineer and car designer Erich Übelacker (Czech, 1899-1977).

Jaray was an early pioneer in streamlined airplanes and car bodies. Ledwinka invented the so called backbone chassis: a frameless central tubular chassis with swing axles and with independent suspension. He had a preference for rear-mounted air-cooled engines, which were applied in all streamlined Tatras. The revolutionary ideas of these automotive inventors resulted in one of the greatest cars ever, at least to my opinion.

The Tatra T77 was the first successfully serial produced rear-engined car according to the streamlined principles.

Note that here Tatra returned to the flat windscreen. In 1933 it was still not possible to make a one-piece curved front window. Later T77 models would get a three-piece windscreen like we also see in the later 1936 Panhard Dynamic.

Also the central position of the wheel we see back in the early Panhard Dynamic.
