Obs:

- O uso da erva-doce é alternativo e poderá ser até eficaz, mas ñ substitui a assistência médica necessária;

- Donald Runsfield compra 90% da produção mundial do anis estrelado da China, desde 1997, qdo surgiram os primeiros casos de gripe aviária H5N1 (uma das variáveis do H1N1)… seria por acaso???

Tendinitis prevented 1982 winner Bernard Hinault from starting the 1983 Tour. Peugeot rider Pascal Simon became the Yellow Jersey after stage 10, the only Pyrenean stage. The next day Simon crashed and broke his shoulder blade. Simon continued riding, keeping the lead while suffering terrible pain. 23-year-old Laurent Fignon stalked him, but didn't attack, waiting for the inevitable collapse. The collapse came in stage 17 with its 6 Alpine ascents where Simon abandoned. Fignon became the leader, holding the Yellow Jersey until the end. Fignon's only stage victory was the final time trial.

Laurent Patrick Fignon (1960 –2010) was a French professional road bicycle racer who won the Tour de France in 1983 and 1984 and the Giro d'Italia in 1989. He nearly captured the Tour de France for a third time in 1989 before being edged by Greg LeMond by 8 seconds, the closest margin ever to decide the Tour.

Fignon won many classic races, including taking Milan–San Remo back-to-back in 1988 and 1989. He died from cancer in 2010.

Mexico City, 24 November 2015 (PAHO)- The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and Mexican singer Lila Downs have launched the #ZeroMaternalDeaths campaign in order to mobilize the region of the Americas to reduce maternal deaths caused by postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide.

Countries in the region have significantly reduced maternal deaths since 1990, but more than 5,500 women die each year from complications related to pregnancy and childbirth, most of which are preventable. One in five of these deaths is due to postpartum hemorrhage.

The name of the initiative refers to the ambitious goal of reducing preventable maternal deaths to zero, which could be achieved with timely, respectful, and high-quality pregnancy and delivery care, as well as access to emergency obstetric care.

To address this problem, PAHO launched the Zero Maternal Deaths from Hemorrhage initiative in countries such as Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, and Peru, where there tend to be more deaths from hemorrhage.

Lila Downs has joined the project and will now be its official spokesperson. "I am partnering with PAHO on the Zero Maternal Deaths by Hemorrhage Project to do my part in reaching out to women and their communities so that these women have healthy deliveries, and more children will grow up in the presence and love of their mothers," she said, adding: "Awareness and education can save the lives of thousands of mothers each year from needless deaths due to complications during pregnancy or childbirth."

During the presentation of the campaign, which was held at the United Nations in Mexico, Downs and Ruiz spoke of the importance of mobilizing governments, health care providers, civil society, families and communities. "We all must do more to bring health care to women and address determinants that are outside the health system, including conditions at home or in the community, culture, education or transport. We all have a role to play in saving lives," Ruiz said.

The initiative aims to promote prenatal healthcare and humanized childbirth, improve quality of care through training on the management of obstetric emergencies, provide means for the transfer of patients with complications, and ensure the availability of safe blood.

A lot of body wash and soap manufacturers may claim their products are antibacterial when they are not. For example, when it comes to antibacterial soaps, some of them will not prevent microbes which cause diseases from infecting you. However, many of these soaps will give you bacterial resistance and keep you safe from bacterial skin infections.

This information is based on over 30 hours of researching PubMed studies as well as talking with some of the most reputable beauticians and dermatologists in the industry.

Therefore, you need to be careful the next time you purchase any antibacterial body wash or soap. Of course, most people won’t know which products are good and which ones are bad. That is why we have done the research for you and listed the products which won’t put your health or skin at risk.

Best Antibacterial Soap And Body Wash List

Purely Northwest’s Antifungal Soap with Tea Tree Oil

Out of all the antibacterial body washes, the best one is Purely Northwest’s Antifungal Soap with Tea Tree Oil. It contains natural ingredients and can treat virtually every skin problem that you have.

One of its strongest ingredients is Tea Tree Oil. This is an oil known for protecting the skin against a variety of conditions, such as nail fungus, body odor, and athlete’s foot. We recommend this antibacterial body wash specifically to all men out there. Fungi usually form on the skin when you’re using the same gym equipment as other people. This body wash will protect your skin from the fungi.

Also, this product will cleanse and hydrate your skin so that it is no longer dry. It contains a variety of skin conditioning ingredients such as Aloe Vera. This will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth.

The product’s solution is a concentrated formula so that you will get 100% of the benefits from these ingredients. You can use it on your skin every day including your feet. It is a safe product.

Purely Northwest has an excellent reputation for its fantastic customer service. If you are not happy with this antibacterial soap, you can take advantage of their money back guarantee within the first 45 days after you purchase the product.

Pros: Adds moisture to your skin, stronger nails, reportedly superior to OTC creams, all benefit claims are true. Reduces irritation.

Cons: Bad smell, not the best for sensitive skin

Provon’s Medicated Lotion Soap

The next time you get a piercing done, Provon’s Medicated Lotion Soap is the best choice out of any antibacterial soap. The Association of Professional Piercers even recommends it too. You can use this soap to prevent infection because of its vast amount of antimicrobial properties. It is also perfect for all skin types.

This medicated soap contains 0.3% chloroxylenol which helps the pierced skin heal itself. There are also a lot of skin conditioners in this soap to make sure that it is gentle and non-irritating. Only quality active ingredients were used to create this soap.

The soap is recommended for both men and women to use. It will leave you with a clean aroma that does not smell like medicine or perfume. This soap does not foam up either, so it can clean delicate areas correctly.

The Medicated Lotion Soap gives you much faster results than other soaps. While most other cleaning solution products can take 3-4 weeks before your pierced skin infection is healed, this one takes just two days.

You can use this soap for more than just cleansing your pierced skin. It works great as a hand soap that you use every day to keep moisture in your hands.

Pros: Nice smell, can use on piercings of any age, a little does a lot, concentrated formula

Cons: Harder to carry the bottle around, first-time use may cause stinging

Dial for Men’s Odor Armor Antibacterial Soap

Dial for Men’s Odor Armor Antibacterial Soap creates a protective barrier on the skin that keeps out dirt and gently cleanses it. It then leaves a refreshingly clean scent while your body feels completely energized. Many artificial fragrances have scents that give you headaches but not this one.

The solution of this soap is formulated to neutralize odors by removing all the dirt and oil that lies deep within your skin. At the same time, it will never dry out your skin or cause peeling.

Even though this particular antibacterial soap is marketed to men, it is also okay for women to use it too. People with acne on their body will benefit from this soap, but they can be helped even more with the liquid version of this solution.

As far as aesthetics go, this antibacterial soap is not the most attractive. It has a black and grey color to it, but so what? It does a great job as a lather, and that should be all that matters. The only thing is that there is a fragrance ingredient in this soap. So, if you have sensitive skin, then this soap might not be the best one for you. There are no known cases of skin irritation reported as of yet.

Pros: No drying of the skin, helps prevent bacterial infections, suitable for active people

Cons: Fragrance ingredient, it is bar soap, not available in many stores

CHECK CURRENT PRICE

Aromavita’s Antibacterial Oregano Soap

Aromavita’s Antibacterial Oregano Soap has antibiotic, antiviral, and antibacterial properties to it. This means it is excellent for treating or preventing folliculitis. It is also useful as a lather for the skin. Once you use it, your skin will feel smooth and will be left with a mild scent.

Men and women can both use this soap with natural ingredients in it. Approximately 3% of the solution is made of oregano oil. This is the ingredient that treats many skin conditions like folliculitis when it is topically applied.

Other skin conditions that oregano soap treats are allergies, eczema, and insect bites. You need to leave the solution on your affected area for a minimum of 3 minutes to get the full treatment.

If you are looking for a completely natural antibacterial soap with no side effects and an ability to treat a lot of skin conditions, then this one is the best. You may feel a tingling sensation after applying the solution, due to the oregano oil.

Those with sensitive skin may not like this solution, even though it is all-natural. There have been no reports of any allergic reactions, though.

Pros: Treats skin blemishes, natural healing properties, treats many skin conditions and you can easily kill bacteria.

Cons: a bar soap, it may burn if mucous membranes are present on you

CHECK CURRENT PRICE

Dr. Bronner’s’ Pure Castile Bar Soap

Dr. Bronner’s’ Pure Castile Bar Soap uses Tea Tree Oil as its main ingredient. This makes it a compelling antibacterial soap as well as an antiviral and antimicrobial soap. Tea Tree Oil has been used for hundreds of years for this very purpose.

If you have a lot of acne or dandruff, Pure Castile Bar Soap will help treat these conditions. While applying the soap, you will notice quite a bit of lather and a woodsy aroma too. The hemp oil ingredient in the soap will help leave your skin with a soft and smooth feel to it.

The bar of soap is entirely white. If you accidentally get soap in your eye, there shouldn’t be any burning feeling. This soap contains natural ingredients so that you won’t experience many irritations. Anyone who purchases this soap will be helping the Kenyans and Samoans too.

Pure Castile Bar Soap is an eco-friendly product. Even the wraps that the soap comes in are made entirely from recycled materials.

Pros: Nice smell, great as a makeup brush cleaner, no residue left behind. Helps prevent body acne.

Cons: Melts fast, bar soap, not sold in many stores

Are Antibacterial Soaps a Good Choice?

There seems to be a lot of antibacterial soap products on the market these days. Most consumers are out looking for the word “antibacterial” when they shop for cleaning products now. However, these cleanser products are not truly effective at destroying bacteria and germs the way they claim without getting rid of essential oils.

Soap bars are created when fatty acids are combined with sodium hydroxide. Rather than mixing with the triglycerides, the fatty acids and the hydroxide ions combine. This combination forms a salt mixture that we call “soap.” The function of soap is to attach itself to dirt, bacteria, and oil, as well as to lower water surface tension.

The reason why the soap can do this is that it is a water-repellent and water-binding solution. The hydrophobic (water-binding) property binds to additional hydrophobic molecules. When dirt attaches itself to the fatty acids, it gets stuck within the droplets of water. This allows you to wash away this dirt easily.

Just remember that bacteria could learn to become resistant to any particular agent who wants to kill them. Don’t assume all forms of bacteria are your enemy because there are good bacteria in our body that protects us from harmful bacteria that tries to get inside. However, most diseases that people get are viral, which means that antibacterial soaps cannot keep you safe from them.

Therefore, antibacterial hand soap and traditional hand soap are about equal in preventing a bacterial infection.

Conclusion

Both women and men are attracted to antibacterial soaps in this day and age because of all the claims of the packaging that it can destroy and prevent bacteria. If you are one of these people and you want the best antibacterial soap product, then try going with Purely Northwest’s Antifungal Soap with Tea Tree Oil.

It is formulated for people who are active and is gentle on the skin. You will get an array of skin defense properties from this treatment, such as antifungal, antiseptic, and antibacterial. This concentrated formula can be used every day safely.

The only downside is the soap is rather expensive. But if you don’t mind spending the extra money on a bar of soap that makes your body feel refreshed, then go for it.

Forest Stand Improvement in the Black Hills. Forest thinning is critical for forest health. Not only for forest canopy but for the underlying cover as well. Thinning also prevents bug infestations as bugs prefer thick stands and easy access from one tree to the next.

This example shows a stand of Ponderosa Pines in need of thinning to stimulate the Aspen stand that is present. Removing the pines will decrease the competition for the Aspen trees. Aspen trees in the Black Hills of South Dakota have a small niche but they do have a historic ecological position on the landscape.

This photo also shows a more open forest habitat with tree canopies spaced to prevent crown to crown wildfires. The open canopy also promotes more understory growth that is beneficial to livestock grazing – a key industry in forest lands in South Dakota.

The practice of Forest Stand Improvement (Thinning) can be utilized to address resource concerns such as:

Plant Structure and Composition – Imbalance of one species of tree or one age class of trees.

Degraded plant composition occurs when there is a lack of diversity of plant species within a geographic area or an imbalance in the relative abundance of plant species. Degraded structure refers to plant density, distribution patterns, or height and layering that is not suited to providing the desired conservation benefits and products.

With decreased fire activity and active fire suppression in the Black Hills, Ponderosa Pine have blossomed and overtaken many locations and ecological sites that should not be 100% ponderosa pines.

Wildfire Hazard – tree stand is too thick, has too many ladder fuel trees, and canopy is closed.

Fire can be an important and often beneficial part of the natural ecosystem; however, uncontrolled or “wild” fire can pose threats to life, health, and property. Excessive fuel loads can result in a fire too intense, causing damage to the desired plant community and site conditions. In addition, the secondary effects of some wildfires, including erosion, landslides, introduction of invasive species, and changes in water quality, are often more disastrous than the fire itself.

•Overstocked forest increases the risk of fire outbreak

•Continuous fuels increase the risk of the spread of fire

•Abundance of ladder fuels increase fire intensity and potential rate of spread

Because Veteran suicide impacts all Americans and needs to be addressed in a coordinated effort with government and community stakeholders. And, because all Americans, and VA in particular, have a duty to help Veterans suffering from the hidden scars of military service that lead them to think suicide is their only option. We must do better and this summit will help us to determine our future course.

The “Preventing Veteran Suicide – A Call to Action” summit will bring together VA and DoD leaders, mental health professionals, Veteran Service Organizations, Veterans and their families, and other key partners. These national leaders will direct their attention to how we can best help Veterans and their families access appropriate mental health services.

It will be an honor to welcome Susan and Richard Selke, as guests at the summit. Their son, Clay Hunt, was a Marine Corps Veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan who took his own life in 2011. Congress subsequently passed the Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans Act, which President Obama signed in February of last year. Their commitment to improving mental health care for Veterans like their son has been inspiring.

Also at the summit, Senator Elizabeth Dole will discuss the role of Caregivers and Dr. Ron C. Kessler of Harvard Medical School will deliver a presentation on “Researching Risk for Suicide among Veterans- What Are We Missing?” These are just two of the many supportive experts joining us for this important call to action.

We already know that America’s Veterans are at higher overall risk for suicide than the general public. Veterans suffering from conditions like posttraumatic stress, depression, insomnia, and chronic pain are particularly vulnerable. However, groundbreaking research shows us that Veterans who are fully engaged in VA care are at lower risk of suicide than those who are not. It is essential that information about resources for Veterans at risk for suicide is readily available to Veterans and those close to them.

We want Veterans to come to us, but we must also go to them and build effective networks of communication and care across communities and health organizations. We must be far more proactive and creative in our approach. I ask each of you to consider how you can make a difference.

I addressed our efforts yesterday in an op-ed that appeared in the Palm Beach Post and many other papers across the U.S. I encourage you to take a moment and read my op-ed.

I know that by discussing the many aspects of this unacceptable crisis in our Veterans’ lives, we will advance their care and treatment. I will report back to you with another blog following the summit. Thank you for all you do for Veterans each and every day.

On May 6, 2023 at 5:45PM the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 640 block of S San Pedro Street in Downtown Los Angeles. The first arriving fire officer reported finding a two story commercial building with an outside fire which was extending into the building. He requested three additional task forces and the firefighters initiated an offensive operation.

Facing both rolling steel and heavy duty security doors, firefighters used rotary saws to cut their way into the building. Once inside, fire attack found the fire extending to just the area at the front of the building. The 38 firefighters on scene (prior to the assignment of the additionally requested fire companies), operating under the command of Battalion Chief Nicholas Ferrari, quickly got water on the blaze and achieved a full knockdown in 30 minutes. The fire was held at the front of the building and prevented from extending back through the structure.

One male firefighter sustained a non-life threatening leg injury while working to gain access to the building. He was transported to the hospital for care.

The fire was determined to have originated outside and extended into the building. A thorough search of the structure found no occupants inside.

The use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers leads to water pollution because contaminated water seeps into ground water and runs off into nearby water sources. Natural pesticides that you can use include insecticidal soap and pyrethrum. Natural fertilizers include wood ash, grass clippings, and animal manure.

NYC Residents Band Together to Prevent Eviction of Elderly Bed-Stuy Homeowner.

UPDATE: The Eviction Defense prevented Ms. Ward's scheduled eviction. She and her team have bought a few days to negotiate. Her future is still uncertain.

NEW YORK, NY – Ms. Mary Lee Ward, an 82 year-old African American grandmother who resides at

320 Tompkins Avenue, Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn, is facing a foreclosure related eviction from her

home of 44 years.

The current owner, “768 Dean Inc,” holder of scores of other properties in the neighborhood, has hired

a marshal to remove her from the premises. A NYC based organization plans on being there

too.

The group, calling itself Organizing for Occupation or O4O, vowed to defend Ms. Ward and block

the eviction, even if it means engaging in non-violent civil disobedience in order to force the NYC

marshal to back down.

O4O is calling for folks to gather at 320 Tompkins Ave this Friday morning.

Ms. Ward—like so many in Bed-Stuy— is a victim of deceptive and predatory lending practices

perpetrated by banks and speculators. Her lender, Delta Funding, was shut down by the government

for preying upon elderly people of color in Queens and Brooklyn. The broker at Tarheel Funding lost

his license and was prosecuted for fraud.

But her loan lived on, bought and sold by different financial institutions over the course of ten years.

When the house was sold at auction in 2008, estate speculator “768 Dean Inc” picked it up as lucrative

asset in a changing neighborhood.

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict (SRSG CAAC), Ms. Virginia Gamba, witnessed the signature by the Government of South Sudan of an Action Plan to end and prevent all grave violations against children, the most comprehensive Action Plan signed to date by parties listed in the annexes of the Secretary-General Annual Report on CAAC. The Action Plan covering all grave violations is the first of its kind since the creation of the Children and Armed Conflict mandate.

“This long-awaited commitment to South Sudanese boys and girls by the authorities is the culmination of months of engagement with the principal parties to conflict and comes with a significant decrease in grave violations against children and steady child releases over the past year,” said the Special Representative during a four-day visit to South Sudan, her second to the country since she took office. “The Action Plan comes at a crucial moment for South Sudan, as it has the potential to build confidence between the parties in the context of the peace process and because it carries a strong message of prevention. Ultimately, peace remains the best protection possible from hostilities for boys and girls and the only road to sustainable development.”
