Aster " Thanks so much for my pressie Nerys! I really love him so much and will make sure he gets the best bananas Mom and Dad can buy! I will protect him from the big PGTips Munkey promise!"

Nerys "Ahhh you are so welcome Aster! Merry Christmas!!!!!!!! Topov will be chuffed you like him, I really wanted you to have one too!"

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 No. 4090 Dorchester Castle with early British Railways crest on the straight-sided tender and double-chimney - that I am unsure whether that would not have happened later?? Please comment anyone who knows! Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year everyone! From the Hattons site this does look as if the catalogue number is D5Dapol which is a little odd.... next time in the attic I'll check the rather battered box. Looking on Hattons, I now thinnk the double-chimney is an addition as the picture there is identical in all other respects. Update: From a comment on a photo in Mike Morant's collection, this was photographed ex-works with double-chimney and he dated it as 1957. See it here... mikemorant.smugmug.com/Trains-Railways-British-Isles/GWR-...

Pressie for my lovely Mum, who wanted to try one of my pendants. It's smaller than most of them at about an inch and a half diameter (size 15 seed beads for the daisies), and it's also a bit of a test, because she doesn't get on too well with anything but gold, but we'll see if she's okay with this for short periods! Failing that, I'll be saving for gold wire ...

A 'cheap date' or at least a very cheap pressie for the love of your life on Valentine's Day.

Messing with the Christmas pressie...

I ordered this doll house for my birthday (which is this Thursday). It will be shipped this Monday and hopefully arrive, together with Miami's faceplate, on my birthday :D

It needs to be built still, and I've also started to make mood-boards for the interior. This is going to take a lot of time, but it will be fun!

Brisbane

I bought Jill a visit to the Shard for Christmas last year.. Today was the first time we were able to get to go and visit!

An advantage of Covid was that it was very quiet, no crowds and no queues! ;)

It ws great to be up there again and for Jill to be able to go for her first time! The weather was kind too!!

A belated christmas pressie (thanks Ben!). I haven't messed around with film for a long time, not since before I even knew how cameras work, so I'm looking forward to a lot of playing with this. It's already taken up residence in the man bag.

This is a painting that was made from one of my favourite photos from 2015. As some of you know I was trying to get a shot of a Kingfisher for years and then got very lucky over a short period of time, the patience eventually paid off. Jo had this painted for my birthday and I'm chuffed to bits with it.
