The trip out to the ELR was last years birthday pressie for him, it just happened to be days before his next birthday. 82 today.
I name all of my cameras and lenses. I know, I am a grown woman... but I still do it. Most of the time, the minute I hold it, I know what to name it. Not so with the Mamiya. I was thinking something that started with a M, but nothing really fit. Then my sweet and very talented friend Kevin suggested Lucy. It was perfect!
So meet Lucy. Her name means light. She finds it. I just need to learn how to meter it, focus it, and frame it.

It's arguably the most popular present given to females of all ages.
Happy Valentine's!
A few weeks ago now it was me birthday and my lovely Kate bought me a camera. Gotta be the most extravagant pressie I've ever gotten and a damn joy. During the first week or so I mostly played with long exposure shots, in part as a way to teach myself exposure. When I got the camera I had little idea of what aperture and all that guff really meant. Getting a reasonable grip on it now, even though I've been returning to my phone a bit as well.
So, I thought now I've got a few that I'm almost happy with, I'd share some with y'all. Starting with some long exposures 'cause, quite frankly I love that shit. To all you night photographers I follow, thanks heaps peeps for the inspiration and tips I've gotten from your shots and the chat underneath them.
Works better on black...
I wouldn't normally share photos of presents, but I had to let you know what Tim bought me as an Easter present! Only a set of 48 coloured brush pens!! What a fun pressie!!

Here is my Xmas 2012 Pressie from my very dear Husband, who took my breath away with this choice for me, I love it so much!!
Sugary sweet, & tiny tiny teeny weeny elephanty goodness, this girl is so cute it hurts!
She is a Bulah Yindee BJD, just 14cm tall. She is made by Charles Creature Cabinet.
Although her eyes look dark here, they are a beautiful shade of lilac in real life ( bad lighting is Scottish weather's fault!! grr!! ).
If you like this one, do click on my photo stream for another shot of her!
Taken today with our new Nikon P100 (early Xmas pressie ready for my holiday to Cyprus that's now looming large, I just didn't want to take the D40 and all its lenses again), we were rather pleased with this macro, have only taken a few photos with it so far as we only got the camera this morning but no doubt there will be more appearing on here soon!! :o)
Perdita lolling on my best Christmas pressie - a heated fleece blanket. Sensible cat, right? Taken with an lPad.
I made these and a few more for a good client of mine. He wanted to show his mom what I do! My husbands comment: Why doen't he just take a picture! I made them anyway! Don't you just love husbands!?

Numbers Farm on Egg Farm lane, a farm behind Kings Langley Station. I have been there a few times so it was an easy location for the tryout.
Thanks for all your criticisms.
My mom came over today and gave Shawn and me St. Nick's Day pressies. ^__^ My mom gave me this adorable gingerbread Hello Kitty-- she's decked out in a gingerbread cookie costume with all the works: frosting trimming, heart candies, peppermints, and even a mini gingerbread cookie to hold! I totally squee'd when I saw her. ^o^ Even her back is gorgeous with her name and hearts in pastels!
I feel so lucky-- my mom told me this plushie was the last one of its kind at the candy shop. She knows me all too well. My new plushie even matches the candy shop xmas tree decorations all over our apartment. <3
