26 artists from around the world transforming volcanic rock into sculptures on New Plymouth's Coastal Walkway.

An AV-8B Harrier with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron VMM-261 (Reinforced), 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, prepares to take off from the flight deck of the USS Iwo Jima, Jan. 29, 2012, as the 24th MEU prepares for their final at-sea training exercise. The 24th MEU is conducting their Certification Exercise with Amphibious Squadron 8 scheduled Jan. 27 to Feb. 17, which includes a series of missions intended to evaluate and certify the unit for their upcoming deployment. The harrier detachment is from VMA-542 based out of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C.

I'm going to have a Scotch egg salad: tomato, lettuce, beetroot, olives, coleslaw, potato salad, ham and a Scotch egg: plus vinegar, pepper, salt, salad dressing & mayonnaise.

En las familias nómadas, la mujer se encarga de la comida y de la casa. La dieta típica consiste en carne de vaca, cordero y cabra, algunas verduras importadas (zanahoria, patata, cebolla y ajo) y harina. Suelen ir al pueblo más cercano a comprar los productos que necesiten como gasolina, comida (comida procesada, verduras), papel higiénico, etc. Pero todo lo demás lo hacen por sí mismos: amasar la harina y preparar las obleas de las empanadillas, picar la carne, hacer los fideos, etc.

Aquí están preparando fideos.

In nomadic families, the woman takes care of the food and the house. The food consists mainly in meat (cow, mutton and goat), some imported vegetables (carrot, potato, garlic and onion) and flour. Usually, they go to the nearest town or village to buy gasoline, food (processed food and vegetables), toilet paper, etc. All other things they prepare it by themselves: the wrappers for the dumplings, the minced meat, the noodles, etc.

Today I need someone to talk to and it might as well be you........on Feb 2, G was taken ill and I was actually with him when he began to be sick. I have not heard a word from him since then, almost ten days now. I know by now he would have contacted me if he was able. So it's very serious and he may even be gone from this earth. I will continue to pray for him and his family...........preparing myself for my journey to change once more...................if he should be able to return to me, o what a celebration it will be.............I will grow quiet here on my page until he does or till I am able to be back.............I will never forget our last conversation................Te Amo, G

On the 23rd November 2020 the 'Azura' arrives back at Teignmouth from Southampton. The vessel had an extended visit in Southampton as an anchor had to recovered from Babbacombe Bay. The 'Arcadia' and 'Ventura' are already anchored in the bay.

A chef at Tomihisa in Gion, Kyoto, deftly fillets a daggertooth pike eel, better known as "hamo" in Japanese. In the Kansai area, and certainly in Kyoto, hamo is a delicacy and a symbol of of one of summer's culinary delights.
