A Trumpeter swan preens near Pagosa Lake in Pagosa Springs, CO. From all the feathers in the area it is molting. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

These puffins are just so awesome. Loved watching them preen after diving for food.

Northern Parula taken at Presque Isle State Park near Erie, Pennsylvania

Taking time out from nursing their brood both pen and cob worked their way to the centre of the lake and commenced preening. Working the feathers with the beak then fully submerging themselves, this process was repeated over and over until finally they rear up out of the water and furiously flap their wings removing the water and straightening the plumage.
