The Missouri Governor’s Prayer Breakfast is an annual observance welcoming participants from around Missouri at the beginning of the General Assembly’s legislative session. The Prayer Breakfast is an inter-faith event for all leaders and citizens of our state. Its purpose is to seek God’s guidance for our political leaders as they begin the legislative session.

You would not usually see a prayer wheel inside out, but this one is pretty old and shows the fact we had heard only a little earlier, that the wheels actually contain prayers in their cylinder in a shape like on prayer flags. I was so far thinking it is only the script on the outside, which serves as the prayer lifted into the wind.

The entire time I stayed at the temple, this man was immersed in his Puja. He was having a 'homh' (prayer with fire burning) for the Devi. It must be a prayer for something or thanks for the granted prayer. His wife was reading the 'paatth' while his children (in western clothes!) were running around playing. He was intense though. And unlike his wife, he did not get distracted by people or my camera.
